Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Your page file was already ~37gb. If you reduced it to 16 that's a problem! I'd recommend 64gb for your system.

"setting_framerate_cap"={
version=0
value="off"
}
Did you set the frame rate cap? If not please try that.

And, what fps are you seeing in the game? We are trying to restrict it to 60.

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
SPEEDFAN http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

MartyBeBe said: So before starting my CPU is 33C and GPU is 35C. After 10 minutes my temp was CPU 40C and GPU 38C. The game crashed 20 minutes into the session with around the same temps. At no point did any temps reach above 50C.
Then it is not that either, problems start up around 80c. I'm not seeing any clue as to what's wrong !

Make a new Windows user and log into it with that. Go into startup settings and disable everything and reboot. Then run ck3.exe directly from file explorer and start a new test campaign. Do you still get this problem?

If you have a crash dump it's probably time to make a new thread in Bug reports and attach them, and the files above, there.

Sorry!
