DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

Can you try updating that video driver?

Don't see much else in there to look at!

Can I see new log and dxdiag files please.

Ironman should not be a problem as such but cloud saves are. Make sure you are saving locally only, until that is fixed!

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
SPEEDFAN http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Those CPU temps are okay but what do you see for the GPU? That's much more likely to be a temp problem.

You should update that AMD driver to the latest one from here:

The one you have is November 2019, I thought they had 2020 ones available for this now?

I don't know why Speedfan is not finding your GPU, it should be listed with the cores there. I guess try some other apps like GPU-Z or Speccy.

The Turk2 said: Each of my cores has hit a max of around 85C. Which I've seen you say elsewhere is problematic. Is this normal for paradox games? Is there a way to stop the game from freezing?
That may be due to a bug in the game, yes. What fps do you see, anything excessive like over 200? See if you can use Catalyst to cap the fps to say 60.

Otherwise it can be a real hardware cooling issue, which you might also be seeing in MacOS then. What sort of temps do you see there? I use Macs Fan Control to see that.

The Turk2 said: Where can I find and install Catalyst, to cap it at 60? I've never seen 200 (I think).
That is the AMD utility, it usually comes with their drivers. It is possible they don't install it on Bootcamp - can you see it in Windows there already?

The Turk2 said: If this is a CK3 issue, is there a fix in the works? To be clear, I play very graphics heavy RPG (Wolfenstein), and RTS (COH2), without any issues. So the issue does seem to stem from CK3.
As I said above, there is a bug in the game which means you can get excessive fps and so strain your video system. The fact you crash in 10-20 minutes is typical of overheating problems. Capping the fps ought to help until the bug is fixed.

I was interested in the temps seen in MacOS for comparison; if there is an underlying cooling issue in the hardware that is something else you can do to help the situation. Both I and my wife have had to have our Macs cleaned our recently due to overheating, it worked wonders!
