[2022] CK3: Unable to Login to Paradox Account. Unknown Error. [Linux]

First let's fix your launcher problem.

remove the following files and folders:

• ~/.paradoxlauncher
• ~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2
• ~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/launcherpath

Download the Linux installer package from here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1AdfRZdj032sLEU6p9N__-jZ8M5zRl_BP

Unpack the file you just downloaded and place the three files in the Steam folder for the game you're having issues with. If asked if you want to replace already existing files click "yes" - that's a sign you are in the right place!

Then run the game from the Steam PLAY button, to install the launcher again.


IF that does not update the launcher, attach here its log files:

• $XDG_DATA_HOME/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/logs/ (if $XDG_DATA_HOME is set)
• ~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/logs/ (if $XDG_DATA_HOME is not set)

There’s a comms issue here! Check your firewall, all traffic to and from that api. Address needs to get through.  

I see, then I wonder what could be getting in the way ... Do you have another machine at that location to test this one? Or can you move this machine to another location, OR connect via a VPN or mobile phone hotspot?  

I see, so it is something inside this laptop. If it's really not the Linux firewall in it, I'm not sure what else it could be!

If you make a new Linux user on it and login as that, do you get the same problem?  

Running out of ideas here, especially as my Linux knowledge is quite rusty by now.

Is IPv6 in use in the card, if so does unbinding that help?  

FYI there is a general Paradox login issue at present, so far as I know unrelated to your problem but who knows. Let's see what happens when it comes up again!  

That login issue seems to have been fixed now.
