Edit : here is a post from a dev that is 4 years old : https://www.reddit.com/r/dauntless/comments/ca3ccm/comment/et5tzhu/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

50% of the time, when I leave the game to desktop and relog, I'm stuck at "Updating game data..." and then "Failed to update game data, please contact support".

It also happens often after triggering the AFK auto kick.

Support is useless to be honest, seems they don't even know this issue even exists.Simple Google searches led me to HUNDREDS of people having the same issue and nobody found a fix yet. And posts are from multiple years ago.

The only fix I found is to wait for 1-2 hours...

Already tried to :

- reboot router
- changed DNS to Google ones
- reinstalled the game
- rebooted computer
- verified game
- created a rule in Windows firewall

I have a 1Gb/s connection and I know my stuff regarding computers / web ( it's part of my job ).
Might be the only game in 20+ years of gaming where I have "connectivity" issues.

Hi u/polki92, I appreciate that this has been frustrating for you, and I'm sorry we haven't been able to solve it yet.

However, please remember that Rule 1 here is that this subreddit is not for Tech Support, and we do indeed have a team we specifically work with to support players with issues like this. It's not an arbitrary rule - for a broad number of reasons, it is much better for us to work directly 1-on-1 to help investigate and solve issues with specific accounts or setups etc.

Please contact with a fresh ticket containing as much context as you're able to provide via Dauntless Support, and I'll do what I can to support you from the other side of things.

Do not directly tag members of the dev team with support requests. As mentioned in my larger reply, we'll work with you through the designated Support team.

Please also remember that error codes and messages can appear for lots of different reasons, and a reply from gtez a number of years ago for a broad issue may have nothing to do with what you're currently encountering. Thanks.
