I wish there were a 'Disable Bright Flashes' option.
The Radiant VFX are very pretty, but I have to admit - I hate them. Not their fault, nor their designer's; the defect is entirely mine, though it's not my fault, either. I have a sensory processing issue that has been slowly worsening as I age, which makes me have issues with bright lights, especially bright white lights. This is usually not a huge deal, even in video games, although I do really hate 'fade to white' things, white logo pages, and similar things that cause the screen to fill with that brightest of colors. Most of the time, I can close my eyes and wait it out, and tend to avoid in-game situations that are likely to be full of bright white, and to a lesser extent, bright blue.
Naturally, this means I have problems fighting Radiant behemoths, and some Shock behemoths also cause me issues. As I write this, I am recovering from fighting a High Alert Valomyr that chucked more white blasts than I've ever seen a Valomyr chuck - which sounds silly, really. Recovering...from the colors on-screen during a video game. But, every time I blink, I still have echoes against my eyelids. I don't know how that works. Maybe I have burn-in in my brain.
Rezakiri is consistently much worse, of course. Every goddamn time I fight one - and I make sure to only fight them during the day, with the lights on, and I'm literally across the room, probably twenty or thirty feet - my eyes hurt afterward, and I've had it trigger a migraine before.
Lightbound Koshei? I'm hesitant.
Now, I like Dauntless. I probably won't stop playing it over this, unless it becomes too much to bear. Might have to look into sunglasses and such that can fit over my normal glasses. Maybe shooter's safety stuff. Won't that be ridiculous, though? Wearing safety goggles over my coke-bottle glasses to play a game. And everything would be yellow. I can't even use F.lux, since I play on PS4, but everything being piss-yellow is the worst.
Dead Cells, meanwhile, has a 'Disable Bright Flashes' option. I don't know how it works, but it is the best thing.
I wish Dauntless had that.
