I've seen so many since I started playing that I'm curious if any of them stuck with you guys. The best one I ever read off here was:
The reason gold pays so little when collected on missions is because the over-abundance of it on hoxxes surely caused a sudden flood in galactic trading markets, plummeting the price. As far as supply and demand goes its most likely become near valueless compared to pre-hoxxes mining. But management still pays, probably at a loss, for the useless shiny rock because it keeps morale high due to dwarves natural instinct to collect gold.
Either that or management's greatest kept secret, the truth behind the revive juice >! it's an elven health potion !<
