I was reading over the mod category guidelines and comparing it to some of the ideas I had for mods to make. I am still a bit confused on a few things and would like clarification.

1.) I noticed that Starship Troopers ELITE changes the payout bonus from 133% to 150%, but according to guidelines for 'Approved' it shouldn't modify the way players get resources. Or does it simply have to be in line with the base game payouts?

For example, if I make a mod that changes Point Extraction from gather 10 Aquarq's to 20 Aquarq's, can I have the Credit/EXP reward be double, since you're doing double the Aquarq? Or perhaps say the same with gather 1000 Morkite?

2.) Can I create custom gamemodes with custom payouts and have it be approved? For example, I make a "Survival" gamemode where you have a point extraction platform, and a room full of morkite/aquarq's/nitra, and then regular amounts of crafting materials, and the goal is to harvest as much as possible before you die with bug swarms constantly increasing?

3.) Can I modify Deep Dives to only payout crafting minerals once like Overclocks so that I could add crafting materials to Deep Dives and have it be 'Approved'?

4.) To what extent can we modify resource spawning and still have it be approved? Say I make a mod that makes gold 4x more likely but enemy swarms 4x harder.

Overall I'm wanting more clarification of how much we can modify for it to still be considered "in-line with base game progression". I'm not wanting to do anything ridiculous like get free resources, but I want to do things like going down to a cave and having it full of nitra/gold and you have to fight off an onslaught of enemies to get it.

Thanks!

You can increase rewards if you increase difficulty. I don’t think doubling an objective does that. There’s no clear answer as to how it scales, afaik, but adding extra of any resource outside of the difficulty multiplier is probably a no-go.

To my understanding, this is breaking the rules and should make the mod count as Sandbox. I'm not sure if they made a special exception because it's a well-known mod or if they just didn't catch it. I would assume any of your ideas for modifying payouts would also be sandbox mods.

Starship Trooper is approved, since it’s within the “realm” of the game and you have to work for it.
