But a VERY highly experienced player tells me not to mine gold? I just want to get my auto cannon as soon as I can, but they said "good players don't mine gold" and when I said "I need monie" they said "it's in the lobby title, please don't join speedruns"

Do I not understand what the deep rock community is about? I thought we were rock and stone? I am only new, but I heard about this game from ReapieRon, and he seems to think we're rock and stone? But I want to play well, do I mine the gold, or listen to the diamond engineer?

Editing to say, Ron says Triple Tek Chambers is broken with some auto cannon loudout, is this true? About the damage?

Hi! Here's a list of bad advice from another recent post. Just do the opposite of these, and you should be good.

"I've got 100 hours and am player rank 67 "Longbeard", and I have some tips in general and for the differerent classes for players just starting out! Some of these tips are basic, but sometimes even very high rank players don't know about them. There's a lot of un-intuitive things about the game and I'd like to put some together and I'm not good at lists, so here we go!

Getting 80 nitra is a top priority. Don't do ANYTHING else before you get your nitra.

Do your assignments (usually). The unlocks are mostly nice, although some of the weapons are a waste of time. Don't bother with the Cryo Cannon, Goo Gun, or anything for scout, but everything else is good!

While we're on the topic, don't play scout! It might be fun to zip around the cave, but you're basically Bosco but with even worse firepower. Try to bring something to the team and play any other class.

The Engineer's platforms stop fall damage!

Don't ever mine gold. It's worth 2 credits per chunk, it's never, ever worth stopping for. Would you cross the street to pick up a penny? Well that's what mining gold is.

Engineer is OP. If you want something easy to play, just use engineer. It's seriously so overpowered that he has turrets AND 2 weapons, but it's a PVE game so there's no worry about balance from the devs. If you're having trouble, just play Engi, he's SERIOUSLY OP.

Driller sadly only has one good loadout, which is flamethrower 21112 with facemelter, and pistol with 11311 and oversized magazines. Unfortunately nothing else has enough damage to be viable, but like I said it's a pve game and devs don't have to care about balance, but it's really frustrating when bad drillers join who think the Cryo gun or sludge works, cuz they're unlockable they think it must be better, but there's only one good loadout sadly.

Save gunner shields for revives. There's no point using them otherwise, you just get swarmed after it goes away, but it can buy time to revive.

Don't do Egg missions. The caves generate so weird it can be literally unplayable."

Feel free to add more in the comments!

The Nitra thing is sorta valid. In high tiers, it can be really important.

Correction, don't do egg missions without a scout on the team. Nobody wants to have to try and get that f**kin ceiling egg, but Scout, especially with Engie, can get them anywhere.

Every lie contains a grain of truth.
