So after playing the EDD multiple times cuz i found it extremely hard that I ended up literally learning it by heart.

Once I finished it successfully I saw a couple of videos on you tube where people were playing EDD.

It has same name same mission but layout was changed. The rooms were different.

Most of content creators play on PC. And I was surprised how different it was. I kept waiting for the Player to reach the room where my (different random) groups would die and fail. But that Room never showed up in the video. So I checked other videos and can’t find it.

So on PlayStation the room with the twins would always have 2 honey combs, 1 breeder, 1 nexus and 4 swarm holes. With the worst terrain on 3 different levels.

Weird thing on console the minerals were not changing place on different attempts and neither would the stationary enemies. And I remember in the previous weeks it would change if you tried again.

So I am really confused now. It’s as if every thing I know about DDs is wrong.

Are we playing different DD and EDD on different platforms?

Is the generation of DD only fixed for terrain or enemies and minerals too?

Or is it that this week DD is bugged on consoles. Like the last week DD was bugged on steam? Cuz we didn’t face the morkite issue. Infact we had plenty more left in the map at the end.

Dude according to the devs the most updated and best version is on ps5. Xbox and steam runs the same. On top of this this game is not very demanding to begin with that ps4 can’t Handel it. PS4 has way more complex games on it that run fine with it breaking a sweat.

And we’ve been running Same DD and EDD till now on steam and PS. It’s just this week that it changed. If what ever you are saying was true we wouldn’t have the same DD and EDD till this week would we?

And I know about enemy density according to player count. I did all attempts with 4 players and the videos of PC players are 4 players too. The higher enemy count I was talking about if you read my post was regarding stationary enemies that spawn in big rooms.

You are just being an elitist elf atm. And derailing from the topic and trying to argue about PC being better than consoles. I have both a gaming PC and consoles and to me this war between console and Pc is meaningless.

Any way in the end you will not listen to what I am saying and I am finding you insanely condescending so I’ll put an end to this and say you win. And wait for some one else to answer my question.

Not very rock and stone of you brotha.

We’ve said what?

lol that is the most absurd answer you could give.

If that is the case why is the console version EDD bigger and denser in enemy count and terrain complexity?

The client generates the map not the player PC or Console.

He’s technically correct. It’s a memory limitation, and if you’re playing on PS5, you’re limited by the cross-gen compatibility with PS4. The Steam version is capable of some of the largest cave gens, compared to the console version. It’s not something you’d notice, as the caves can still get large on console.

The EDD can differ due to this because removing something from a pool of resources will shuffle the numbers. It doesn’t necessarily do so, but it’s likely. That’s also why you may have experienced a bigger EDD on PlayStation, but that doesn’t mean the console version is more capable, just that it rolled bigger this week.

Not sure what you mean about the client generating the map. The host does that and shares it with the clients, whether it’s pc or console.

Thank you for clearing this out.

My apologies to the people above.

So how many versions of this game exist atm? And what are the minor difference between them all?

Four versions, I believe.
Steam, Xbox/Windows Store, PS4 and PS5.
Xbox and Windows Store are "the same". Even though PS4 and PS5 are crossgen compatible, they're separate products as such due to how it was setup.
So, you're technically not wrong when you say the PS5 version is the most enhanced one, as it is more specifically made for PS5, though it's still under some of the restrictions in regards to gameplay that PS4 have.
Cave generation due to memory limits is probably the biggest one. The caves can still get quite big, though. I think there's also some slight changes in regards to difficulty and hardware, but I'm not sure how much.
Overall the experience should be pretty similar - the seeds can just be rolled differently, due to some restrictions, and it can have impact on what spawns and how.
