I didnt notice the switch in gears as I was away from DRG. Only noticed the event about 1,5 weeks ago. I know for a fact, that I will have a lot of stuff not unlocked.
It goes into the normal mechanics once Season 2 launches, so you're not missing out on anything.
Reminder: All Season 1 content will go into normal rotation once Season 2 starts. You're not missing out on anything if it hasn't unlocked. The battle pass is, in lack of better words, a fast track to getting stuff before others. It's not disappearing if you haven't had time to grind.
