This Week in Destiny, we are just knee deep into the Festival of the Lost celebration. Lots of Headless Ones have been defeated, we've eaten a few metric tons of candy, and have even run a few Grandmaster Nightfalls to maybe help with digestion. We also have an update about you know what. So, how about we jump straight into today's topics?
- Weapon perk weighting issue update
- Let's see your spooky pumpkins
- And your latest fashion statements, too
- Pick up a new ghostly emblem on Twitch
- Check out our Headless Ones T-shirt
- Bungie Foundation Hurricane Campaign update
Let's do this!
About the Perk Weighting Issue
The team is continuing to make progress in addressing issues impacting perk RNG. Currently, we are targeting a hotfix for November 5. As this fix will touch code for a game-wide system, we're giving the team a bit more time to fully validate the changes needed to address this issue.
In the long-term, we're looking at a few options not only to thank many of you for your data-crunching, but to get some weapons in your hands that had perk rolls with lower RNG chances than intended. First and foremost, we found a fitting emblem deep within our vaults that almost seemed destined for this. The emblem will represent a moment in time when many throughout the community came together to help us identify this issue. Between your data and our simulations for hundreds of thousands of drops... we're all becoming Conquerors of Infinity.
To claim your emblem, redeem the following code at http://Bungie.net/Redeem: VHT-6A7-3MM
Additionally, we're looking at some opportunities to get fun loot in your hands at a later date. Not only will our RNG systems be fixed up, but you'll have more opportunities to snag some rolls you've been looking for. We're also looking to have a future deep dive article from the team on this, talking through our investigation and about how interesting this issue was to dig through on our side.
Stay tuned for additional details.
Pumpkin Carving
As we announced in last week's TWID, we want you all to put your imaginations to good use during Festival of the Lost. First with pumpkin carving, as is tradition in some parts of the world during this time of year. Here's a list of our favorites from last week. You all have earned an Artist of the Week emblem, so share your BungieID with us so we can grant it to your account.

Spooky Fashion
Next up, we have our latest fashion contest. As always, your talent to mix textures, colors, and Hive chitin never ceases to amaze us. Congrats to all the winners, remember to share your BungieID in your submission so we can grant you the Felis Galaxias fashion emblem! We'll have more in the near future, so if you are not among the winners, don't give up.

New Builds Needed
So, maybe you are trying to get a ton of rewards as fast as possible going through the hardest difficulty of Haunted Sectors. Or maybe you just want to chill, hit a not-too-hard event activity, and get rewards while listening to music or chatting with friends after work. Both are great moods, both absolutely valid. So, how about we help each other by sharing some builds to go Headless Ones hunting? We'll share the first.
It's a build all about The Last Word, but it's not for PvP but for PvE! After a recent buff, the “never ADS” Hand Cannon is very strong against combatants and allows high damage against tougher foes when paired with the Lucky Pants Exotic Leg Armor. If you put on a Kinetic Loader Mod on your Gauntlets, you can easily empty two whole mags into a boss for very high DPS. It also works really well with all subclasses, but if you want to really feel like a cowboy, use Solar or Prismatic Hunter with Gunpowder Gamble and hip-fire to detonate it for extra yeehaw points! Warlocks and Titans, we got you, too. The Last Word with Chromatic Fire gets explosions and elemental verbs and Titans with Lion Rampant can't possibly miss a single hip-fire shot while in-air.
Hope you enjoyed our idea! The rest of you, use the #BuildOfTheFOTL hashtag on social media with your suggestions and screenshots of your amazing builds so we can pick some of them, add them to next week's TWID, and give the winners the very cool, still quite exclusive Photoionization emblem.
Grab an Exclusive FOTL-themed Emblem
How many eyes do Hive ghosts have? One? Two? Seems like three is the right answer. Just look at our new emblem! If you gift a sub to your favorite Destiny 2 streamer on Twitch during Festival of the Lost, you’ll be able to grab the ‘Ghosts in Dark’ emblem! Do it now, before the spooky sheets come out at night! Check out the emblem below, if you dare.
It's A Headless One! On a T-Shirt!
The Headless Ones can be terrifying when they follow you and try to transform you into one of their own. Poor Glint is terrified of them, but Immaru thinks they are so metal they deserve their own T-shirt. After all, T-shirts are missing the head you put in yourself when wearing them, so it's very, uh, thematically fitting according to Eido. So, behold, our new Festival of the Lost Bungie Rewards T-shirt!
To unlock this amazing Bungie Rewards, you must complete the Haunted Sector Playlist Event Challenge by 8:59 AM PST on November 19, 2024 and complete the purchase before December 31, 2024.
Bungie Foundation Hurricane Campaign Update
Our Hurricane relief campaign may be ending, but for many across the Southeast U.S. that were impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, this is just the beginning of a long journey of recovery. Which is what makes the work of our humanitarian partners, Team Rubicon and Direct Relief, even more crucial, as they are in this for the long term. When attention undoubtedly fades from these devastated communities, they will still be there, doing the hard work, day in and day out, to make today a bit better than yesterday. That work is made possible in part by YOU and your support. The Destiny community has raised more than $350,000 throughout this campaign, funds that will go directly to our partner organizations to continue driving positive change for communities in need.
Donations for the Through the Storm emblem close tonight at 11:59PM PT and our Hurricane relief t-shirt will be available until 11/3/2024. Get yours while you can and support this amazing cause!
We'll be closing out our Hurricane campaign in style today on Twitch, with a Halloween edition of our Bungie Bounty for Good, benefiting Team Rubicon and Direct Relief. The stream starts at 10 AM PT, which means we are LIVE right now at the time of publishing. Oh, and Twitch Drops are enabled! Watch for 90 minutes to earn the Nature of Truth emblem. Head over to the Bungie Foundation Twitch channel, where we'll be jumping into the Crucible with Friends of the Foundation Andy Salisbury and DMG. We've got some Tricks and Treats in store for our viewers, emblem giveaways, and spooky shenanigans. We’ll see you on Twitch! 👻
Player Support Report
Known Issues
- Bungie Names cannot be changed. We hope to fix this as quickly as possible.
- The Loadout and Mod screens in the character screen are very difficult to access. If the cursor is over a weapon or armor, they can be accessed.
- Menus and subscreens used to change pages no longer allow inputs from a D-Pad or arrow keys.
- The Director can no longer be accessed from inside the Character screen.
- The health bar colors of major enemies has been altered, making it hard to distinguish between them and minor enemy health bar colors.
- Sometimes the final boss in Vesper’s Host doesn't spawn and players are forced to wipe for the encounter to start.
- A soft lock can occur in Vesper’s Host when not all servitors reform with the boss after DPS ends, and the remaining servitors are inconsistent between players.
- We're investigating reports where the Tonic Brewing Guide quest isn't updating when creating tonics. ##Nice Costume, Crow
We all love Cayde, including our new Hunter Vanguard Crow, even if... well, you know. Kill your idols, I guess? Also, go check the #DestinyTober24 hashtag for a lot more incredible art.

Anxiety-Inducing Titan
Dear, beautiful Titan. We know you are fearless; we know you are absolutely capable of finishing Vesper's Host solo and flawlessly; and we are 100% rooting for you. But for the love of the Traveler, may we suggest you use Lion Rampant Exotic to assist you during the jumping sections of the dungeon?

And we are done for today. Hope everyone is having a terrific, or terrifying, time fighting Headless One and earning some new weapons. Yes, we know... but we are fixing the perk-weighting issue next Tuesday and there's two more weeks of Festival of the Lost to get the rolls you are aiming for while completing the Event Card. Just go at your own pace and don't forget about getting the Superblack shader if you don't have it already.
So, back into those Haunted Lost Sectors!
