[2023] Adding a "Recent News" tab somewhere in the menus would be a really good addition to the player experience, the news displayed on character selection screen is barely useless

Keeping up with everything about the game isn't necessary to the average player, and the in-game pop-ups are helpful, but the game lacks a menu tab that groups core information for the player.

The icon displayed in character selection screen doesn't even is clearly displayed as the "news tab". The icon only shows you that it's possible to search for more information on the game's official website.

The pop-ups when logging in are also not that useful since they're usually showing things currently happening or happening next week.

The tab should be something easy to access and should be separated in sections that are displaying meaningful things, like:

Section for official news and updates

The most recent post on the official website (TWIDs or articles) should be presented, or at least the TL;DR usually posted alongside the post link on social medias.

Posts regarding server stability, maintenance and updates. If the issue is fixed or there's nothing to announce, show that everything is fine.

Disabled gear, known issues and patch notes for the current game version.

Redirecting us to the browser probably is something too complicated, especially on consoles, so it doesn't necessarily needs to redirect the player to the post, it only needs to clearly shows the players what they need to know and where to find it, without being something easy to ignore and without any actual information (like the current one). The main goal would be just making easier to know when something new is posted, when updates are scheduled and when something is disabled/bugged and the devs are aware of the issue.

Active events and core activities.

PvP modes, events, reputation/rewards boosters currently active.

Seasonal or unique events (like the one that will happen during the week for Bungie Day or events for the end of the season).

Featured strike, map and mode in endgame playlists of the core activities.

Release date for new activities

When a season starts, display the release date of raids, dungeons and returning modes for ritual playlists.
