It's been a rough week. Despair ruled the land. I can't help but think of the Ekko. The ground quakes daily. Citizens are tired and slow moving. Without warning or reason, citizens are zapped into suspended animation. They return shortly after with no memory. Theories fly, the most popular is an evil time wizard. One thing is clear, a curse has befallen Pandora.
Many believe the gods themselves are angry. Artemis, her temple incomplete, and animals run amok. The Great Baths are completed, but it was for us. It all started that day. We laid hundreds of pipes, necessary for the bath's waterworks. We all love it, but Ekko's eyes have seen only passing trucks.
I have a theory. Ekko is the gods spy here on Pandora. Perhaps it was hubris. They know, and now so do we. We haven't delivered on our promise, yet. Egypt, ever more sensitive to their calls, begin first.
"HELP!"Another distressed citizen. I cut the wheel of the truck, headed for the voice.
"HELP!"
"What happe.....bahahaha"
"I've made a huge mistake"
The wizard got him too. Maybe there's an enchanted blade around here for that.
"Thanks. I found him!" exclaimed Wizy.
"Found who?"
"Harold! He's been trapped here!"
Harold! Finally some good news. Harold is our town crier, a godsend messenger. Apparently his masters name is "discord". I'm just happy he's back. At least this wanton rock destruction has been fruitful.
Harold picks up his old job like he was never gone.
"The Famine has Ended!" He exclaims.
More good news. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Rusty Moose and their Farmer suppliers, the famine is officially ended. The mechanics, drillers, and new Advanced Masons all breathe relief.
The drive home is a happy one. Flo is clearly back to work. Maybe we've appeased the gods for now. Citizens appear to no longer be plagued by the dastardly wizard....as much.
Such excellent craftsmanship. Much wow!
I stop to admire the new technology. They tell me its grueling work. The high tide seems to have pulled back. Suddenly I realize the meteor is closing in. It isn't over yet.
The curse has abated, for now. Hold fast, 7 Wonders. We're coming!
