Hi, I need to know how to find tier 0 material, because I have some rooms for instance 0.88 tier, 0.99, 0.96 and I don't know what materials of tier 0 are affecting the bad score and is all surrounded by processed logs, so is there something that can cause negative tier or what is happening?

Thanks.

I've found that 90% of the time, a user has left "air" as the upper corner edge somewhere. It does put limitations on how you can build roofs and ceilings. If I want an interesting roof, I'll usually put in a false ceiling to keep the room tier higher.

Yes, if there is air (tier 0 technically) diagonally, it counts as tier 0.

x being the block, o air. This has outside connection, so reducing tier.

would work.

Stockpiles can also negatively affect the tier. When I build from inside I have a stockpile with building materials and it lowers the tier of the room.

So, remove inside stockpiles and check all corners and edges so you don't have any empty spaces there and no dirt/sand/stone anywhere.

Yes, contents of stockpiles count as well.

Very nice and succinct explanation! Thank you!

I stick with my false ceilings though - they're a nice place to hide ugly equipment that you don't need direct access to.

Oh yeh, just saying you can do it without having a flat roof from the inside by just making it double-width.
