[2021] Claiming causes server to lag?

Like the title, claiming causes the server to lag for everyone on it.
With 30-50 people online it is quite an issue and I was wondering if there is anything that can be done to reduce the lag a bit, or should we just wait till people run out of claims?

It's a known issue that is already partially fixed. There have lately been additional changes for a full fix that probably will make it to 9.3. I'm not aware of any 'workarounds', unfortunately.
