Two other friends and I started playing yesterday for the first time. My buddy started up a world and we all joined it and we had a blast. We played it for like 10 hours yesterday. At the end though his computer crashed and the server has gone offline. Is there anyway to get it back online or to get back in the server? I mean why has it even gone offline permanently?
External link →Ok. From the main menu he should be able to find the world under the "your worlds" option. There's a section there for local saves. Once he loads the save you should be able to join.
If the save is missing then I would guess that it got corrupted and you will probably have to start again.
As far as I know, ECO still suffers from a memory leak issue so I would advise hosts to close and relaunch the game every few hours to clear the memory and help avoid crashes.
A crash often leads to a corrupted database as databases do not like to be exited ungracefully, restoring a backup from the backups folder should be enough in that case, no new start needed.
