In 1605 the Finish town of Oulu was founded by Charles IX of Sweden. Oolu grew organically over time, with minimal city planning.
By 1651 Claes Claesson crafted a new proposal for the town (Shown here). This city plan would be put into use only 1 year later.
Could the Baltic really be complete without Finland? ❄️ That's right! Today's DD will showcase Sweden's sister to the east.
