232s couple of things today hot swapping
233s armor it's a big one because this has
235s been locked for
237s i mean shoot i think since the prototype
239s itself and i wanted to talk to you guys

242s why that's been locked and the method
245s that we have chosen to uh override that
247s so it's no longer going to be plaguing
248s you we want average space 2 to be an
251s accessible looter shooter so when you
253s find loot that you want you can put it
254s on immediately now there are some
256s caveats that come with that hence why
258s we'll have a discussion about hot
259s swapping when that time comes the next
261s thing is a couple of new sound effects
263s uh namely the autocannon is what i'll be
265s showing today there may be more but i
268s wasn't notified on what those would
270s potentially be so we might just throw on
272s random weapons and see if there's new
274s ones we'd find out together but i do
276s know the autocannon's been updated so
277s we'll at least be covering that one
279s and then last but not least i also
281s wanted to cover some of those secondary
283s modifiers again with you guys um because
286s when i showed them last week they were
289s hot off the press i'm talking like ideas

396s off i had to do some cheeky little
399s adjustments but i do like my neon

403s i i kind of like i kind of like the way
405s that this has come together we will be
407s flying the gunship at least for the
408s beginning of the stream
410s and uh i mean shoot let's just crack
412s into some of the stuff we want to talk

415s so the first thing the very first thing
418s there is a very very very minor
421s difference on this screen
426s very minor difference
427s it's like itty bitty and i know that
429s there's going to be someone out there
431s who's like yep i see it i know exactly

439s the metallic jade green yeah i'm hoping

444s all right so basically it's the plating
446s so there's no longer like this
447s percentage thing going on
449s you might be wondering well what what
451s does that mean
452s there's no percentage i don't have to
453s repair my armor anymore is that what no
455s that's not what it means at all what it
457s means is that armor is now bound to your
459s ship
460s and the plating adjusts how armor is
463s affected so think of it like this um
466s let's see if i can
468s can i can i repair no i can't i'm
469s already fully repaired you know what
471s hang on i'm going to damage my armor and
473s show you exactly what i'm talking about
475s i'm a good skilled driver
477s excellent all right so now
480s let's talk about this
485s armor hot swapping
489s we still don't have this percentage
490s thing going on like we used to but you
492s can see straight up your armor is
494s damaged right so what happens if we swap
496s other armor in
501s um
502s nothing
504s nothing happens here because the
506s percentage of that armor doesn't change
508s your armor is just now down to that
511s certain percentage how much is left
513s depends on what armor you have so if you
516s have really crappy armor and you hot
517s swap to really good armor you don't
520s automatically gain
521s all of your armor back but what you do
524s is you pick up where you left off from
526s that percentile location and gain the
529s benefits of the new effects
531s of the new armor so you can't cheese the
534s heck out of the game and be like oh my
535s armor's done so i'm going to go to my
536s inventory swap on a new one boom got
538s full armor again can't do that but you
540s do get the benefits of the different
542s armors
543s make sense
544s i hope it does because that's what we
546s have chosen to do um in addition to that
551s now when you repair
553s um i'm pretty sure this was separated i
555s don't think this was the same before but
557s we've separated this out so
559s i don't think that this amount is final
562s otherwise that's super cheap but
565s repairing your hole and repairing your
566s armor have now been separated as they're
568s each their own sort of uh entities
572s and you affect those entities through
574s your plating and also other modifiers
576s right
578s so that's what this all looks like very
580s simple
582s should have been implemented sooner
583s probably some people will admit
587s but there's been a lot of priorities
589s and we're happy that we're able to
591s adjust this finally so that you'll have
593s more opportunities of finding stuff and
595s plugging it in to see how it operates
598s since at its core this is a looter
599s shooter we want you to get the loot and
601s we want you to you know plug it in try
603s it out so
605s no longer locked you can plop it in and
608s it picks up right where your armor
609s percentage is
611s all right
619s what about armor repair from skill so
621s basically if you repair your armor up a
623s little bit
624s right and then you're like oh i'm gonna
625s hot swap armor you swap to a different
627s armor and it's gonna pick up where you
629s had repaired up that last armor so it's
631s still going to be applicable to whatever
634s percentage your armor is at
636s right
637s so if you are if you like heal a little
639s bit and you get up to here then you hot
640s swap your armor you start there again
644s okay
645s because again the the plating isn't your
647s armor
648s the ship has its own
650s armor
651s and the plating is what modifies
654s what the armor does and how much there
656s is
658s even if previous armor is dead
667s so if your armor is completely gone and
669s you hot swap to new armor the new armor
671s yeah it would start at zero percent
676s yeah it would start at zero percent so
678s if you hot swap or like your armor gets
680s completely depleted and you're like i'm
681s gonna cycle to a different armor it's
683s also gonna be completely depleted
686s yes that is entirely the point so that
688s we don't
690s that we specifically don't have players
692s exploit the plating because otherwise
695s the whole reason why we had it locked in
696s the first place was because you could
699s just take off armor plating put on a new
701s one and have max armor again so you can
703s have an entire cargo of nothing but
705s armor and effectively never die you just
707s like keep cycling out whenever you lose
709s all your armor we didn't want that
711s absolutely not want that
713s so if this was completely drained and i
714s cycled to a different armor it would
716s also be completely drained but as you
718s can see all the stats all the abilities
720s all of the everything else that's
722s provided there is going to help
725s that cause instantaneously
729s so there was also a little brief
730s conversation in
732s um the discord regarding weapons and hot
736s swapping weapons because when you do
738s that right now the art the energy is
740s completely maxed out so you can
741s effectively hold like five or six
742s different weapons or in the case of what
745s some individuals are currently doing
747s they have a mining weapon in their cargo
749s and then whenever they get to a mining
751s point they hot swap it in they use it
753s and then they hot swap it out so they
754s have their better attacking gear uh to
756s utilize instantaneously there's no pain
759s to hot swapping that
761s right now
763s but i can assure you guys that just like
765s we adjusted secondaries just like we
767s adjusted consumables we are looking at
769s and evaluating the state of hot swapping
771s across the board again remember we do
773s want to keep it to where you can explore
776s your options to experiment with what
778s does what at the same time if you want
780s that fast very quick change go to a
783s station plug things in no problem no
785s repercussions
787s like even as i'm at this base right now
789s if we swap this guy there's no 20 second
792s delay it's instantaneous right because
794s we're at a base if you're flying
797s and you hot swap there's a 20 second
799s delay to use secondaries there's a
801s 20-second delay to use consumables so
803s without getting into the nitty-gritty of
805s what we're going to do for weapons
808s let's keep playing all right
810s cool so let's talk about some
812s adjustments on the front of
814s the secondaries because we did talk
816s about these modifiers
818s and um yeah there were there were a
820s couple changes there
822s so let's go ahead and um find ourselves
825s i think we have a high risk
828s location no we don't let's uh let's make
829s a high-risk location
831s uh yeah let's just activate a couple
834s we'll go to a high-risk location
836s and we'll start talking about these
839s secondaries
840s and also you can listen to the auto
842s cannon update as well so many things
845s already
853s so what happens if you unequip plating
854s totally do you have some bass armor now
856s or what great question what happens is
858s it goes to zero
860s it removes this armor entirely but when
862s you plug it back in it resumes where
864s your armor was previously at
868s so basically this is a number that's
870s bound permanently to your armor status
873s and if you remove plating your armor
876s status says hey i'm gonna set out for
878s now it retains that data
881s it doesn't change
883s it retains that data where it last was
885s and it waits for you to either plug in
887s new armor right
889s to gain it back where it was previously
891s at um and do what it needs to do from
894s that front
895s okay
896s uh the last point to note is that um
901s because it's a hidden stat right like
902s it's it's a permanently bound uh armor
905s stat to your ship
907s uh the only way to repair this the only
909s two ways to repair at this point in time
911s are basically getting kills which is the
913s repair kill feature of plating um or by
916s repairing from a station
918s that's basically it probably more
920s modifiers in the future all right
923s high risk location

930s i needed to talk about this real quick
932s so with this gunship build i also wanted
934s to talk about what i'm running today
935s because it's a little bit more obscure
937s than most builds probably are so this
940s build we kind of want to get hit a lot
943s um so
944s we're running exit strategy which
946s reduces damage we take by 25
948s we're running percussive maintenance
951s what who runs percussive maintenance i
954s am and i want to show you why
956s this thing is probably going to get a
958s lot of use out of our incredibly high
960s whole points so progressive maintenance
963s for those who don't know what it does
964s because you never use it uh its incoming
966s direct hole hits have a 3 chance to
968s reduce a random device cooldown by 30
970s percent so we are going to be able to
972s utilize our devices a bit more in quick
974s succession at least that's the hope
976s that is the hope
978s we're also using relentless because i
980s love this one honestly i'm only using
982s two warfare devices so it's only a 40
984s increase to uh weapon energy capacity
987s but that's still great for the gunship
989s and then finally ulterior motive is
991s going to be 100 increase all generation
992s while the shield is depleted because i
994s don't think we're gonna have our shield
996s up very often this time around all right
1000s i also want to make sure
1002s uh are we in very hard okay good
1007s excellent excellent
1019s all right
1023s so let's just uh take a little bit of
1025s damage to start getting our features
1027s working
1029s because we want to get hit oh yeah here
1031s we go

1054s look at all those mines oh my goodness
1060s how about that autocannon though
1075s we're gaining armor way too fast
1108s excellent
1121s we have increased the base
1125s oh man does that just sound uh
1128s pretty deadly
1134s also we are getting a lot of auto
1136s weber's
1138s webbings because of our secondary
1140s modifier
1142s so that's going to uh
1144s there's gonna be a lot of fun stuff from
1145s that because we actually have 17 out of
1147s 15. that's a bug
1150s but you can see how much we're auto
1151s generating from auto firing this thing
1165s all right here we go

1193s we gained our armor back way too fast
1196s for percussive maintenance to to be in
1197s effect well how about that
1202s all right so we're gonna pick up this
1204s equipment
1212s like so
1216s excellent nice clear um and you can see
1219s oh we got damage to our homing missiles
1221s that's unfortunate
1223s but uh as you could hear rather not just
1225s as you could see
1226s but autocannon sounds
1234s yep
1235s got
1236s quite a bit beefier
1242s ain't messing around
1246s and uh i also want to point out that our
1248s firepower sucks by the way our firepower
1252s absolutely is garbage all right
1255s and uh was very pleased by
1258s doing this structure build for you with
1261s resistance so even though we were taking
1263s hole damage the entire point was to take
1265s that whole damage so we could use that
1267s percussive maintenance right so um yeah
1270s you don't necessarily have to go 100
1273s firepower if you don't want to even in
1275s this current build where there aren't a
1276s lot of benefits to having a high
1278s structure or resistance uh piece yet
1282s yet um but yeah so there's there's
1284s plenty of ways that you can kind of go
1286s about this i was not worried about
1288s getting dropped at all because of this
1289s number right here like that's just this
1291s is excessive this is an excessive amount
1294s of health
1296s but yeah so let's talk about these
1297s secondaries uh just kind of recap what
1300s you guys maybe have missed from last
1302s time and then how we have adjusted some
1304s elements uh this time
1305s so with the secondaries let's cover from
1307s left to right um this one was not
1310s changed at all 20 chance to refund ammo
1312s when firing straight boone to you all um
1315s if you're using the bomber and this
1317s triggers it will give you a little bit
1318s of an energy charge
1320s the next one is the lock duration um
1323s previously it was decreased by half we
1325s boosted that up to 80
1328s um it's pretty stinking fast now it does
1331s not take long to get a lock on if you
1333s have the bomber's additional passive
1336s that like cuts it in half it's
1338s instantaneous so if you use the lock
1340s duration with the bomber's passive of
1343s effectively having the lock duration
1345s from there the lock is instantaneous
1348s like i'm not joking like you click on an
1351s enemy and then you can start firing and
1353s in the bomber
1354s that's actually really powerful
1357s with the right combination all right
1358s next up we've got 30
1360s damage for each second the missile flies
1362s we felt this was nice and balanced so we
1364s kept that the way it is a lot of
1366s missiles are gonna get about six seven
1368s maybe eight seconds if you really milk
1371s the amount of time they can be out there
1373s flying marksmans loves this by the way
1376s then we also have the last three
1377s missiles are now doing 200 damage
1380s instead of 300 it was a little bit
1383s excessive we admit we like going big or
1385s going home and uh so we did have to cut
1387s that back still plus 200 damage
1391s is
1392s rather absurd um so keep in mind that if
1395s this was plus 100 damage that would be
1398s double damage right so at plus 200
1401s damage that actually means triple damage
1403s it's doing three times as much damage
1406s before we were having it do four times
1408s as much damage which was
1411s all right so it's only doing three times
1412s as much damage that's what plus 200
1414s percent means
1416s oh my goodness percentages are confusing
1418s sometimes i know but it's doing three
1420s times as much damage and it's only the
1422s last three missiles
1425s then we also have this one which we had
1426s to tweak as well
1429s we also had to tweak this one as well i
1431s know oh so the question pertaining to
1433s the last ones do a percentile based
1435s how's that work with the bomb or two
1437s hasn't been implemented in this build
1438s otherwise i would directly show you but
1440s the plan of attack is to where it
1443s ignores uh how your quantity looks for
1446s the missile okay so you could have like
1449s two out of 15 like this and put it on a
1451s bomber the bomber does not gain the
1453s bonus until it's the very last missile
1455s that it could fire using its energy so
1458s every time it's the very last missile
1459s that i can fire from that energy source
1461s it will in fact give you uh that bonus
1465s of 200 percent so in actuality the
1468s bombers the the the bomber is giving you
1471s this percentile based damage increase uh
1474s with every single depletion of energy as
1477s opposed to ever like every
1479s last three missiles
1482s i'm saying this out loud really fast but
1484s basically it means the bomber can
1486s capitalize on this usage on the fly far
1489s more often after each depletion as
1491s opposed to only the last three
1495s okay
1501s drink all right um
1503s next thanks for that question by the way
1505s it's good point of clarity
1507s uh because we don't want the bomber to
1508s exploit that you know like we did
1511s last stream all right anyway next one
1514s this one this one was also getting
1516s exploited from our testing basically
1518s when doing critical damage a primary
1520s weapon uh there's a 30 chance to
1522s automatically fire this weapon without
1523s consuming ammo
1525s we scaled this one back just like i told
1527s you guys it was gonna get scaled back it
1529s only triggers every one and a half
1531s seconds now so if you are if you got
1534s like this super crazy precision build to
1537s maximize usage of your secondaries great
1540s this still pairs well with it just
1542s remember that the bonus missile fired is
1544s only once every 1.5 seconds and if you
1546s can get it firing if you can fire a free
1549s missile every 1.5 seconds let me tell
1550s you what your build is solid
1553s that's nuts if you can get that to
1555s happen but we did have to put a hard cap
1557s on it because we were finding ways to
1559s make the secondary missile fire way
1561s faster than that and uh while it's
1564s definitely fun it's impressively
1566s exploiting the game system so we are
1569s putting that hard cap there
1571s 1.5 seconds

1580s last but not least this one didn't
1582s change at all mines are magnetic and
1583s we'll fly towards enemies in a 500 meter
1585s radius we actually we really like this

1596s it's such a pleasure having this on
1598s mines because they're just so much more
1600s effective now it's effectively
1602s increasing their range by an additional
1604s 500
1605s they auto lock on
1607s and then they affect even more stuff
1609s once they get in range it's great

1618s next update in the summer oh my gosh the
1621s summer but eric that's like

1631s am showing you the latest addition to

1637s this one i felt you guys would like to
1638s know especially since so much focus is
1642s on the equipment
1643s you should be knowing about how stuff's
1645s getting added to what stuff's going to
1647s be changed and we're really thrilled
1650s with these additions for the secondaries
1651s we think this is going to mix up the
1652s formula in a very healthy degree
1655s and we're not done like we're not you
1657s guys know that there's there's more
1658s modifiers coming across the board and
1660s when i say across the board i mean
1663s across the board

1678s so let's answer a couple questions real
1680s briefly since i've been talking a lot
1682s and explaining a lot
1684s then we'll keep using that very sweet
1686s sweet sounding auto cannon and our super
1689s absurdly healthy build here in our gun
1691s ship
1693s and go from there
1702s i was trying out a scout sniper build
1703s and maximizing range but it feels that a
1706s stronger zoom is kind of neat no no we
1707s totally get that gabriel yeah i know
1709s we've heard that
1711s be stated um
1713s there may or may not be some
1714s improvements to that in the future um
1718s but also we wanted to complement that
1719s build style even further as well right
1721s which i hope is made apparent
1724s by
1724s this freaking secondary mod in and of
1727s itself 30 damage for each second the
1728s missile flies like this encourages
1730s fighting at long range right and we want
1733s to reward players who like the long
1736s range play style so there's more on that
1738s front coming
1740s absolutely right
1743s so don't worry your voice is very much
1745s heard
1748s all right let me check and make sure
1750s what's in that cup it's a mixture of
1753s um

1819s does the gunship have four damage
1820s natively firepower isn't that important
1822s firepower is always important firepower
1823s is always important for the most part
1826s because if you wanted to do a gunship
1827s build where firepower was just
1829s absolutely maxed out you could
1830s you could just face roll over everything
1832s but my particular build healer is i just
1834s wanted to soak a bunch of damage and
1836s then exploit that by survival
1839s which is i mean effectively what we did
1841s right we really haven't taken that much
1843s damage whatsoever
1845s uh let's see what else we got
1858s um

1862s uh from twitch hey that so you're asking
1865s for a feature in the game and while i
1868s love that i love this feature that you
1869s are asking about regarding uh catalyst
1872s and crafting so like it takes you back
1873s to what you need um we actually do have
1876s plans to adjust the crafting design so
1879s basically let's just jump over here just
1881s talk about this very briefly um in some
1883s cases it can feel kind of annoying when
1885s you're trying to craft something and
1886s it's like oh you need to get the quantum
1887s conductor and so then you're like okay
1888s well then i have to go find the quantum
1890s conductor right and then you find the
1892s quantum conductor but oh say you're
1893s missing something and it's like oh well
1895s you need to you need to go get the
1896s something you know and it kind of feels
1898s like it's a wild goose chase just to get
1900s the one thing that you want right uh
1903s that is noted that is something that we
1904s will be addressing so yeah
1907s i just asked for your patience as we
1909s implement uh some new tools to help on
1911s that front rest assured we hear you it's
1914s slightly annoying for us as well
1916s internally so yeah that's why we're
1917s gonna adjust it you guys don't know if
1919s the telus is knowing we know

1955s basically when doing critical damage
1956s with the primary weapon there's a 30

1960s one 20 chance to refund ammo when firing
1963s 20 chance to refund ammo when firing and
1966s because this one's auto firing
1968s it's firing automatically and then it's
1972s gaining
1973s an ammunition
1975s it's auto firing and gaining the
1976s ammunition so the reason why i have 16
1978s out of 15 here which again this will
1980s very likely be patched out but the
1982s reason why i have more than what i'm
1983s supposed to have is because it's
1984s shooting one for free and then it's
1987s giving me one more ammunition by
1988s refunding it
1990s yeah
1992s and that is it working as intended we
1994s just didn't want it to go over the
1996s maximum so you're not supposed to get
1997s over 15 over 15 on this one um that's an
2001s accident but whatever
2002s uh we do like how it procs together
2005s that's very intended
2009s all right
2012s all right let's see what else we got
2015s then we'll dive right back into things
2023s um i am just so you guys are aware um i
2026s am going back and forth between chats to
2028s make sure i'm answering as many as
2029s possible so if it seems like i'm

2038s that shenanigans going on um i'm just

7224s dictated on the build that you're
7225s choosing to play and as of right now

7232s resistance builds uh there are some
7235s attempts that we have made at that point

7245s modifiers the additions of more stuff
