198s the team plugged away got a lot of stuff
201s done in the meantime we've got a healthy
204s list of things to cover the title is

209s like new additions and quality of life
210s for mining yeah so uh let me just read

215s um so you guys know there's lots lots of
218s little things we got uh four new high
221s risk area mutators that i want to talk
223s about and show we've got
225s map mining information
228s that sounds interesting we've got
229s consumables that are beginning their
232s adjustment into the next phase
234s uh
235s i'll provide more context on that in a
237s little bit uh we have new ship
239s passives we have new challenges
242s we have new item traits and we have new
245s item grades
248s so what does all of that mean oh we also
250s have we also
252s have new item sound effects for certain
254s weapons
254s uh i did not have enough time to run
256s through all of these today um because
259s whenever i was out last week i've kind
261s of had a short week this this time and
264s uh yeah it's just been so many new
267s things have been added it's wonderful
268s and we haven't been able to test it all
270s yet these streams it's a beautiful
273s amalgamation of our vision that we're
276s offering to you guys communicating with
278s you and showing you exactly what the
281s latest things we've dropped into our
282s builds so some of this stuff may not
285s it's not technically ready if you will
288s but it's uh definitely stuff we want to
290s talk about so you know like what's in
292s the pipe what we have ideas for and how
294s things are moving along because if we
297s didn't talk about that stuff

332s high-risk mutators i think still because

343s there's so much let's let's dive into
345s the first thing um so new high risk
348s uh areas so as you can see i populated
350s several signal decoders we'll do this
354s actually there's so there's so much here
356s hole but we'll get we'll cut straight to
358s the chase a couple new ones that we
360s added we wanted to make
363s actually let's let's start let's start
365s from square one
366s let's start from square one so anybody
368s who isn't familiar with these mutators
370s at all yet
372s basically high risk areas
374s are
375s areas that are optional in the game
377s space that we want to challenge players
379s with if they want to be challenged some
382s can be more challenging than others uh
384s the variety of these mutators can be a
387s little bit wild but we don't want them
388s to be like super extreme
391s how they layer onto each other can be
393s interesting can be fun
396s and uh i've definitely been enjoying my
398s time and dabbling with these we still
400s have a lot of work on these mutators and
402s when i say
404s when i say on these mutators i'm talking
406s about adding
407s many more we have a lot of ideas we want
410s to increase the variety so much further
414s so when i say there's just four new
416s mutators today that's like it's tiny
419s that's such a small amount but i still
421s want to show them anyway so you know how
422s things are going on here you see we have
425s the jarred sensors trait which was you
428s know the name name types are hidden now
430s we also have hidden health where enemy
431s health bars are hidden so we have both
433s of those on the same one that could be
435s hilarious and we also have this new
437s trait called weak link
439s what this does is it makes a single
442s target out there in the space of the
444s high risk area um destructible that's it
447s all the other ones are invincible you
449s have to destroy that one
451s first once you do it cycles to another
454s enemy then you have to go destroy that
455s one and you keep bouncing around until
458s you get as many as you need for the boss
461s to spawn in
464s could be really challenging depending on
467s what other sort of uh things are going
469s on and since i can't see uh enemy types
471s or their health bars i think this is one
474s that's gonna be hilariously bad uh and
476s uh we gotta do it we gotta try it
479s we gotta try it have we balanced tested
481s these at all yet
483s no we're having fun we're talking about
486s things that we're just
487s jumping in and we're we're going crazy
490s with it so a couple more you guys have
492s seen the mines on death so enemies drop
494s mines when destroyed we are also added
496s explosive death
497s so now when enemies uh die they will
500s deal explosive
501s like area of effect damage so that in
504s combination of mines i kind of want to
505s see what happens like if the mines also
507s get destroyed it's like super crazy
509s damage or you know how that interacts
511s that could be fun and then we also have
514s turrets on asteroids
516s so an area may have hostile turrets
518s placed all over on various asteroids so
521s we're definitely gonna have some fun
522s with that one as well
523s these other ones are just kind of like
525s combinations of
526s uh different ones we've seen already uh
528s just to kind of have some interesting
530s results we'll probably get to them
532s we'll probably get to them uh but for
535s the meantime we are just going to take
537s our current ship we have energized boost
540s with high pressure we have fusion hook
542s with arachnid instead of kunai we want
544s to use this with more charges to pull
546s ourselves around instead of pull enemies
550s and then we have carefree package nano
551s transmitter which this is this basically
554s when you enable it the damage that you
557s take for
558s 10 seconds it says on screen perfect uh
560s you then restore a percentage of that
563s back i'm using uh carefree package which
565s also repairs armor and shield for a
568s little bit as well um i'm doing this
570s kind of combination for a lot of
572s mobility but then also a lot of health
574s because we're still flying that stinger
576s the the stinger that has a similar
578s coloration that i i really like this
580s we're gonna we're gonna hang on to this
582s for a while

584s and uh yeah we're gonna we're gonna go
586s from there
586s so first thing these high-risk areas and
590s the mutator so we'll we'll start off
592s with probably these two from sido

613s so this first one that we're going to
615s hit minds on death explosive death and
618s turrets on asteroids so
621s really bad explosions and turrets all
623s over the place
625s beautiful
629s uh yeah so i'm already seeing some
630s questions popping out great rarity
632s borders on the consumables good eyes
634s spoot knight we'll talk a little bit
635s more about consumables in a little bit

639s very clever eye on that front very

658s raise this out there as well the
660s question is is the in-game plan mutators
662s only or there's more and michael did
664s response say it's part of the endgame
666s but it's going to be more like a
667s dedicated game mode activity so
669s high-risk areas like you get them
671s through getting signal decoders which
673s have a greater chance to drop from
674s elites and also like bases that you
677s would encounter through super light for
678s example
679s and you can you can choose to do them
682s you can completely ignore them if you
684s want they do have one element bound to
687s them that opens up more crafting
689s abilities however so any of these
692s catalysts uncommon rare and superior
694s which there's more of these coming by
695s the way if you want these blueprints you
697s acquire them by completing high risk
699s areas now you don't have to complete the
702s hardest high-risk areas in order to gain
706s these catalysts you could do very easy
708s high-risk ones that have like positive
710s traits or lower your difficulty stuff
712s like that so if you want to grind these
714s out just to get the collectibles you
716s could do that but the main goal is that
719s this provides one way for players to be
722s challenged by the game space to optimize
725s your build to overcome these things etc

729s so let's fly into this area and kind of
731s show what's going on i believe we are
733s still in very hard mode

1110s for all intents and purposes that is a
1112s completed high-risk area
1114s didn't actually get as crazy as i
1115s thought it would uh but again i wasn't
1117s like
1118s diving
1119s directly into the heat of battle all
1122s those mines all those explosions could
1124s have been incredibly dangerous
1126s so if i was in like a striker man that
1128s could have made me really rethink how i
1131s was approaching that combat
1133s all right
1140s i see it quite uh just a random question
1141s will there be freelancer weapons that
1143s have alien attack like the okar prime
1145s homing blue orbs but for the player um i
1148s mean i suppose that's a possibility
1151s i suppose
1152s but as of right now like our big focus
1155s is making sure that all the tools
1157s necessary for the player um and the
1160s utilized against
1162s the
1163s types of enemies and the um just the
1166s general gaming systems using shield
1167s armor and whole are well established
1170s first like your generalized equipment
1172s you know whenever we get more into like
1174s the legendary side of things um i could
1177s i could see that we might dabble in some
1179s of that type of thing right um like we
1182s had the ancient we had the ancient
1183s weapon from everspace one
1185s so
1186s uh there's certainly a chance and i am
1188s i'm legitimately responding to you uh in
1191s this way where it's like i'm not
1192s entirely sure because um
1196s these established weapon types you know
1198s we look in the crafting menu we see the
1200s primary weapons
1202s like a lot of the variants a lot of the
1204s uh modifications to
1207s the equipment a lot of the manufacturers
1209s it revolves around this core set
1212s of weapons that you can use whether it's
1214s close range whether it's long range
1216s whether it's homing whether it's energy
1219s based whether it's kinetic focus whether
1221s it's you know charge up whether it
1224s all of these different varieties like we
1226s want to establish that absolutely first
1228s before we would move into something like
1231s you know
1232s additional
1234s i don't know like ancient technologies
1235s oak r technology stuff like that um lore
1238s wise we also know
1241s well maybe you don't know but i'm a lord
1243s junkie when it comes to this stuff so
1245s okar tech doesn't really work that well
1249s with colonial or outlaw gmb stuff like
1253s that human style uh mechanics um the oak
1257s are used an energy source called
1259s viridium and viridium energy um
1263s it operates very differently it's it's
1265s they're
1267s just it's a unique energy source that
1271s flying a ship like
1272s this stinger
1275s flying this type of ship to utilize that
1278s technology you'd have to
1280s have it basically entirely reworked or
1282s you'd have to be flying straight up an
1283s oak our ship
1285s okay like those are the only two ways
1287s that you'd be able to even remotely get
1289s something like that working
1291s anyway
1292s that's a lot of that's a lot of like
1293s jargon a lot of lore stuff that just
1296s basically says
1297s there's a chance
1299s i wouldn't get your hopes up
1301s um but we'll see we'll see what happens
1304s we'll see what happens for the variety
1306s all right so we're going to head to this
1308s uh next high risk area
1311s this one has chart sensors hidden health
1313s and then the weak link this one could be
1315s incredibly interesting basically we
1317s can't really see any stats about our
1319s enemies but we have to target one down
1322s at a time

1332s i don't know what you're talking about
1338s what was that device charger stinger
1339s mains must know uh yes we'll okay fine
1342s we'll crack into a little bit more so
1344s yeah there's a couple a couple more
1345s things that are dropping
1348s um there are new consumables being added
1351s into the game space right now this is
1353s incredibly fresh
1355s incredibly fresh stuff like we don't
1358s even have graphics for it right like
1359s they're literally just getting dropped
1360s in you might see a couple of things like
1362s this uh this one is a device charger and
1365s when you use it it instantly resets all
1367s of your device cooldowns no matter where
1368s you're at what you're doing they could
1370s all like instantly be used you pop it
1372s and you can instantly use all your
1373s devices a second time in a row um for
1376s some crazy effects if you've got that
1378s going on
1379s but obviously as consumables they're
1381s limited in use you can only have two
1383s device uh chargers stacked at the time
1386s so yeah and we want you to be able to
1389s break the game in some interesting fun
1391s ways uh and that's how we're kind of
1393s cracking into the consumable usage since
1396s they're a one-time use we want it to be
1399s a bit more you know explosive we want it
1401s to be a little bit more fun and how
1404s you're just like shaping and changing
1406s what the game space looks like

1414s getting oak our ships nah nah no no like
1416s that's not that's not in that's not in
1419s the plan i should say it like that it's
1420s not in the plane

1575s were like little challenges that you
1576s could apply to your run that would have
1579s like some sort of trade-off benefit
1585s and i think there was one that's called
1587s like i think it's sensor overload that
1589s would hide the health pools of all your
1591s enemies which includes their shields
1594s right
1595s and uh you can still see whenever like
1597s their shields break and stuff so maybe
1599s we can try and use that
1601s to our advantage
1609s could be tricky though oh my goodness
1619s but the trade-off of sensor overload is
1621s that you would you couldn't be able to
1623s you couldn't see your enemies health
1625s but you've got to see all of the um
1629s items on the map
1632s so no matter where you were going and
1633s what you were doing you could see all of
1634s it all right broke his shield so i can
1636s transfer over to my
1638s autocannon pretty quick there oh that's
1640s we're not going to get fishing here

1817s without having to worry about anyone

1821s but i'm sure that there could be
1823s effective uses of kunai as well like i
1825s think it just comes down to like how you
1826s want to utilize that and for me i think
1829s right now in this space

1833s be able to instantly pull
1835s on an asteroid
1839s oh thank goodness thank goodness
1844s oh wait no that's not oh that's not the
1846s target
1852s for a brief second i thought it
1853s transferred over to the armor drone

2014s those area of effect builds right where
2016s it's just like you need to do as much
2017s damage as possible damage over time

2021s and in something like this with the weak
2023s link you can't do that
2025s you have to start focusing in on each
2027s individual target
2031s and in some ways there's gonna be more
2033s beneficial than others you know
2035s et cetera et cetera
2039s but overall like i really kind of like
2042s i like that idea of
2044s having to isolate one target while
2047s everything else is still trying to to
2049s bring you down
2053s now here's going to be an interesting
2054s thing because i have not tested this
2056s weak link yet
2057s i wonder if the boss is going to be
2059s bound to this or if there's going to be
2061s other enemies that i have to destroy
2063s first hopefully
2065s hans christian was a smart guy

2069s so where this is going to be our target
2070s we can take him down

2117s break from high-risk areas then and
2119s we're gonna talk about uh some other

2127s build these catalysts that you know
2129s collecting the blueprints for
2130s sometimes you know your crafting
2132s ingredients can be a little bit
2134s frustrating to like
2135s figure out you're like oh man where did
2137s i get that one resource from right so
2140s you go to your map and you're like
2141s looking around at these places right and
2143s so you hover over it's like neptune's
2145s planes oh i can get iron and atheium
2147s crystal there it's like man i really
2148s need uh i don't know
2151s beramite
2153s you're looking for bear mite and guess
2154s what over here in immaculate redemption
2156s we got a high case for bear mite but you
2158s wouldn't find that unless you're like
2160s looking at each one independently you're
2163s like where's it at
2166s trying to figure out uh what you want to
2169s accomplish here and it can be a little
2171s bit of a pain so instead we decided to
2173s cut to the chase and we are adding this
2175s new map information
2178s this resource top
2179s so when you hit this resource tab right
2181s now we have atheum crystal selected but
2183s let's say we wanted to select beramide
2185s right so we choose baromite and
2188s instantly on our map look at this i can
2190s zoom all the way out we've we've
2192s ventured to all of sido all of union all
2194s of zarkov and all of the kait nebula and
2197s it tells us where beramide's located
2200s boom
2201s so like when we are completely zoomed
2203s out
2205s we can see everywhere that bear might
2207s can be found this includes the pure bear
2209s might as well like it doesn't matter
2210s which one the main reason both of these
2212s are here is so that you can see how many
2215s you have of those right
2218s but you're looking for baromite
2220s you look at all the locations you've
2222s been to and boom populates you have a
2224s low chance in these three areas you have
2226s a high chance in these three areas so
2228s now you know where to go uh if you
2230s wanted to look for something uh you know
2232s a little bit more exquisite like crew
2234s escape
2235s you also see here like right now this is
2237s also only in the nebula oh my gosh
2239s that's great but you only have low and
2241s medium chances we keep doing this for
2243s other ones like here let's do something
2245s like iron super common right
2247s so look at this
2250s bound to fall in cedaw
2253s mainly in the mining fields
2255s makes sense
2256s and there's also you know there's a
2258s little bit in zarkov as well
2260s and we can do this for for every single
2262s minable resource at this time
2265s you know your crystals as well so you
2266s know you're looking for
2268s atheium crystal oh that's going to be
2269s bountiful too you got ceto union zarkop
2273s all of these populate exactly as you
2276s would expect them to you zoom in you can
2278s see where they're at these indicators
2281s the low medium high that just tells you
2283s the density that the resource can be
2285s found at just like it's listed on the
2287s map itself you know we're looking at uh
2290s neptune's planes again iron and atheism
2292s crystal are both high so it highlights
2294s green green is good
2296s think about a stoplight green is good
2298s orange is like ah red is stop right
2302s but at least
2303s it can show up there if it's on the low
2306s side
2308s actually let me rephrase that there was
2309s a conversation at discord recently about
2312s um i think it was grendel who brought it
2314s up
2315s in regards to this location destroyed
2317s mining station which has iron copper

2369s a location you should be able to find
2372s every single resource deposit the first
2374s time you're there
2376s it's not going to be something where you
2377s have to leave and then come back and
2378s hope that you randomly get the resources
2380s generated that's not that wasn't the
2382s intent
2383s we don't like that grind we want every
2385s single thing to be findable

2390s is represented by that low medium high

2393s um adding this to the map makes that so

2710s still an important topic and that uh
2712s that's the ship passives we have begun
2715s adding in a couple more uh nothing
2718s enough like we're not uh there's not
2719s like a massive amount here but there's a
2721s couple noteworthy ones that i would like
2723s to address uh because we've seen some
2725s clever ideas from the community and
2727s we've also been seeing how people have
2729s been approaching the ships let's let's
2731s get into this so let's talk about the
2733s vindicator first
2735s the vindicator here uh the ship that
2737s we've got uh has two particular i'm just
2740s going to remove my face for this segment
2741s because we're going to pop over this a
2742s lot
2743s so it's got one new passive here
2748s and it should make a ton of sense with
2749s the naming convention of this ship when
2752s a drone is destroyed you gain twenty
2754s percent increased weapon damage for six
2757s seconds
2758s it's almost like you're
2760s vindicating
2764s all right anyway so but very simple
2767s passive but can also be incredibly
2769s effective so when your drones drop
2772s you gain additional firepower
2775s right in that moment
2777s now this has not been fine-tuned either
2781s this value could increase like
2783s percentage-wise it could increase
2785s duration wise but as of right now we're
2788s pretty happy
2790s with how this has uh been applied to the
2792s game for the vindicator
2794s just a nice little bonus when a drone
2796s goes down you get your weapons
2799s damage increased
2802s all right next one we've got uh that
2804s that's weird that was strange i want to
2806s cycle no okay perfect we'll go back to
2809s the hangar
2810s love me some bugs it's always great so
2813s the next one we've got is the gun ship
2816s and for the gunship
2818s it's got these massive boosters on the
2820s side of it and you can't go faster what
2823s that's nonsense 50 increase boost speed
2826s boom
2827s that's
2828s that's hang on a second hang on a second
2830s that's huge i know some of you out there
2833s are like doing everything in your power
2834s to like optimize the fastest ship routes
2837s and builds and stuff like some of you
2838s guys are like all team striker uh some
2841s of you guys are like completely on like
2843s the vanguard side uh it's it's nuts and
2846s you're competing like your race times
2848s and stuff i love it i dig every second
2850s of it then there's also like clever uses
2852s of using the sentinel and the stinger in
2854s fact um with the fusion hook to build
2856s speed because they have cool down
2858s abilities based on their devices and now
2861s the gun ships entering the mix with a 50
2864s increase boost speed uh
2866s i mean look at those engines
2868s come on it makes sense
2870s it
2871s it may and we wanted to slap that on
2874s there you know it's got incredible
2876s firepower but its mobility kind of sucks
2878s so having this particular passive show
2880s up could really make or break the sale
2883s of a gunship for you and we want to
2885s incorporate more passives like that
2888s we want there to be just a hair more
2889s variety in these passes which are still
2891s unique per ship class by the way they're
2894s still unique
2895s but we want them to incentivize certain
2898s play styles over others or certain uh
2901s you know just like
2903s fun sort of avenues that maybe you
2904s didn't expect before so definitely keep
2906s your eyes on the passives as you are
2909s cycling through your ships at your local
2911s ship dealer in the future
2913s all right next one up we've got is going
2916s to be the striker itself
2920s for the striker
2922s enemies within 300 meters
2925s cannot regenerate shields
2929s enemies within 300 meters cannot
2932s regenerate shields so if you're staying
2934s close to your enemies and of course i'm
2935s a striker you are
2937s you bring down their shields there's not
2939s a chance
2940s they're going to be bringing it back up
2942s you're trying to focus down
2944s a redeemer and sometimes their shields
2947s can get crazy you're like on the you're
2948s on the trail you're like flying
2950s in the dust of their engines and then
2953s they start boosting the energies up
2955s again you're just like dang it nope
2957s can't happen here
2959s can't won't happen with the striker with
2961s this passive
2962s within 300 meters they straight up
2965s cannot regenerate shields if you are
2967s laying down the law with your striker
2971s doesn't matter they cannot bring their
2973s shields back online at all
2976s pretty pretty solid one here
2979s next up we've got the vanguard itself
2983s a very curious ship a very fast ship
2986s and on its front
2989s we have given it the ability
2992s to increase its weapon damage
2994s so long as you are flying closely behind
2997s the enemy
2999s now remember the expertise of this is
3001s that your rear attack critical chance
3003s goes up by a pretty decent percentage
3006s so now you increase your standard weapon
3009s damage simply from the same effect so if
3012s you are fully utilizing your expertise
3014s in the vanguard which you should be
3016s since it is literally the fastest ship
3019s the base fastest ship
3022s then this should be no problem easy
3025s peasy i see a question already how close
3028s is closely it's a good question um
3030s initially the idea was that you would
3032s gain this benefit so long as you were in
3035s the in the engine trail
3037s of the opposing ship
3039s so long as you are in the engine trail
3041s you should be getting this bonus so i
3044s believe that's going to be somewhere
3046s around the 300 to 500 meter range
3051s but it does have to be behind the enemy
3055s that is what we've got for the vanguard
3060s and last but not least we also have a
3062s stinger
3064s that's gotten a new little passive as
3066s well
3068s using a device restores 25 shields
3072s what
3073s yeah use
3075s using a device restores 25 shields like
3079s that's uh okay so this already being a
3081s device master and you're utilizing
3083s devices like all the time uh
3086s wow
3088s holy crap so um
3090s now if you're like in a pinch
3092s you can just start
3093s popping your devices for straight
3096s regeneration and i do i actually i
3099s should rephrase that for instant shields
3104s this is not on a timer that restores 25
3107s shields over time this is you instantly
3110s restore 25 shields this is probably
3114s gonna get nerfed i'm just telling you
3115s right now but still like this is this is
3118s one of the concepts we have
3120s for the stinger
3122s using a device instantly restores 25
3126s shields
3127s light tank yeah yeah absolutely
3132s yep yeah so like if you have devices
3134s like i'm using uh here let me let me
3137s swap to the current one
3139s do my hornet
3140s um you know we've got the fusion hook
3143s with five charges
3147s so from that one alone i don't even have
3149s to do anything with the other two i can
3151s just like spam the two button and just
3153s 25 50 75 100 percent oh gosh boom boom

3158s just bring it all the way up to speed so
3160s like i said it's probably gonna get
3161s nerfed but
3163s the concept is there so you know kind of
3165s like the intentionality behind that
3167s and those are the ship passives that we
3169s have been um looking into and implying
3171s into the space
3173s and there's more to come i will straight
3174s up say that uh we did come up with a
3176s couple ideas for the other ships that
3178s weren't present in this list because
3179s this is five out of nine of them um
3182s but uh some of them didn't quite feel
3184s right or they were just wonky or they
3186s just weren't impressive enough i'll
3188s straight up tell you one of the ideas
3190s one was for the interceptor and the
3192s passive was you gain an additional 10
3194s bonus to your shields and 10 bonus to
3197s your armor
3199s as boring
3201s now we didn't want to do that for a
3202s passive effect so nay we say to thee and
3205s we're going to come up with something
3206s better but all the ships will be
3208s receiving uh you know more passives over
3210s time we want there to be a variety
3212s within them especially knowing that you
3214s get a passive for every tier of the ship
3216s like just right here you don't you don't
3218s necessarily be able to read what's
3219s behind me but that two number is
3221s associated with the fact that this is a
3223s hornet c32
3225s and getting up to four different
3227s passives
3228s we should probably have more than four
3230s different passives to pull from from the
3232s pool right so

3242s on these ships but that's the vindicator

3279s reading but i don't want to go too heavy
3280s in one direction with survivability
3282s power cargo space damage so i'm just
3284s flying around in the og ship right now
3286s totally great thindle that's totally
3288s great yeah i know the the original the
3291s sentinel build the original sentinel
3292s ship is kind of like the baseline
3294s standard in everspace too um as well as
3296s the interceptor but the sentinel we felt
3298s like had a bit more usage and
3300s exploration for different tools whereas
3302s the interceptor actually has a bit more
3304s focus on firepower specifically so the
3307s sentinel is
3308s kind of really well-rounded on that
3310s front it's a bit more defensible in fact
3314s and that's totally great it's totally
3315s fine uh something else to point out to
3317s you though um structure and resistance
3320s these two attributes in particular
3323s haven't received a lot of love in
3324s regards to um itemization and synergy so
3329s it is very likely
3332s that you will see items show up in the
3334s future
3335s that utilize
3337s structure and resistance to some added
3340s effect or bonus
3342s so that way
3344s you could have some options and maybe a
3346s desire to have a bit more health that
3349s could trigger something happening uh
3352s versus just straight up going firepower
3354s which you know is your generic this
3356s makes me super powerful but also tends
3358s to make some people a little bit too
3359s glass cannony even though they didn't
3360s intend to do that
3362s so
3363s we'll see we'll see what happens
3369s any plans to reduce the rng of getting
3371s the passives you want on a ship um as of
3374s right now i don't believe there's any
3376s intention to make those changes i know
3380s that there's been a discussion of like
3382s you know what about being able to craft
3385s a you know a ship passive and then apply
3388s it to the ship and there's some weird
3390s territory there like it sounds really
3392s good but then it could also move the
3394s game in kind of a bit of a different
3395s direction than what we would aim it to
3397s be so
3399s i'm sure that we will have opportunities
3401s to provide
3403s greater selection
3405s for you as a player to get to the ship
3407s that you want especially the look you
3408s want but in this case passives like to
3411s get to that ship you're specifically
3412s looking for we recognize right now it's
3414s incredibly random from station to
3416s station on what you get um we've already
3419s talked about ideas of like saying
3422s just ideas no guarantees here but like
3425s just so that you know the conversations
3427s going on at rockfish like we've talked
3428s about like what if this station only
3431s sold stingers
3433s you know what if this station um sold
3436s only heavies heavyweights
3439s what if this station you get where i'm
3441s going right so like there could be that
3443s side style or effect that happens in the
3446s future but we're still discussing it
3448s internally we're seeing the
3448s ramifications of that um but just truly
3452s do know we recognize the randomness
3454s right now and we do want to kind of like
3456s bring that in a little bit more so that
3458s players can get more of what they want
3461s especially as you're getting into like
3463s tier threes and tier fours
3464s where you have three and four passives
3467s that you know you're relying based on
3469s complete randomness to determine what
3472s you get
3473s so definitely things that we've been
3475s thinking about um
3477s i don't think you should be too
3478s concerned
3480s because we do want to fix we want to
3482s adjust
3495s uh so wolfy harvell it sounds like you
3498s have a bug
3500s more than anything else about the
3501s carefree package um i would love to have
3504s a conversation with you on the forums
3506s about what's going on especially if you
3508s have gameplay that you could connect
3509s with that uh so that we can iron out if
3512s it's working as intended or if it's not

3532s a negative now we don't want to do that

3548s already and that's as negative as we
3549s wanted to get we don't want to have like
3551s a negative that's like oh the

3554s space is limited like nah
3557s nah that's that's not how we want to
3559s approach the game space we want passes
3561s to be positive
3569s uh let me just double check and confirm
3572s any more questions that are just kind of
3573s floating out there

3582s carriers so you can call in your other
3584s ships it can be very annoying to go all

3631s know if you have a desire to fly a

3640s five minutes to get back and change your
3643s setup that does sound pretty annoying we

3734s you can see it's about kind of turning
3736s the tools of the outlaw against
3738s themselves so we've got killing an
3741s outlaw demolisher with its own mine
3742s killing an outlaw anti-missile drone
3745s with a missile
3746s uh destroying all armor plates of a
3748s blood star overseer
3750s destroying an outlaw drone carrier
3751s without destroying any of its drones uh
3755s challenges like that
3757s and also if you note over here this is a
3759s different uh a little bit more revealing
3762s of our plans as well within our
3764s challenges but we want challenges to
3766s provide some additional active
3769s benefits to the game place experience
3772s once you complete a challenge so instead
3774s of it just being like oh yeah you get
3777s some credits in xb we want there to be
3779s an added incentive so if you recall
3781s outlaw hunt one you get a 10 discount on
3784s all equipment items at the flying
3785s duchess that's an example of this
3787s passive
3788s but yet active effect that's now
3791s permanent to the game space uh with
3793s outlaw hunt 2
3794s anytime you destroy outlaw ravagers they
3797s drop higher grade items
3801s higher grade
3802s higher grade items what's that mean
3806s that's an interesting term uh i thought
3808s you used tiers to describe the different
3810s uh you know the items well yes now we we
3812s definitely have we definitely have tiers
3814s like common and rare and uh you know
3817s uncommon but we also have these
3819s different grades
3820s uh so this is a superior star-forged
3823s beam laser for example
3827s so it's
3829s starforged is no longer a prefix that
3832s has been removed now we have
3834s multiple grades that an item can have
3837s and in the case of this you can see
3838s straight up
3840s that the grades you have basically your
3842s standard grade
3843s then you have a prototype grade and you
3846s have a star forged grade so three as of
3849s right now
3851s that add an extra layer on top of the
3853s item that can then also be refined and
3856s adjusted so
3857s this bit
3858s talking about weapon grades this bit
3861s right here
3862s uh also goes into our item traits as
3866s well so this particular beam laser has a
3868s lot of stuff on it
3870s you can probably see
3872s you can probably you can probably see
3875s all of that stuff
3877s but there's a couple of particular items
3880s i would like to address if you look at
3882s the top bit
3884s after the energy consumption the next
3887s item down says plus 25 to all
3890s mining
3892s modifiers
3896s this is an item trait
3900s certain item types
3902s will now have
3903s certain traits that make them a little
3906s bit better to do certain things than
3908s others the beam laser
3911s will be
3912s the most optimal in regards to the
3915s modifiers you can roll from mining um
3919s to extract the most stuff to get the
3921s highest level stuff when you mine even
3923s though it might not necessarily be the
3925s fastest like in comparison to a flack
3929s but guaranteed for example with this
3931s beam laser i ended up using a catalyst
3933s mining on it
3935s and so we have a 115 increased chance to
3938s extract higher rarity resources when
3940s mining we have 35
3941s chance to mine an additional resource
3943s with every resource mine and a 25 refund
3946s 75
3947s 27 weapon energy with every resource
3950s mind we added that on top of the three
3953s other standards we had so this is not
3955s only a decently effective beam laser in
3958s combat but when it comes to mining it
3960s has the best stats
3962s that it can possibly have
3965s so now
3967s you guys can make that decision of
3968s saying i want to make my flack devoted
3971s to mining which you still can it's dang
3973s near instant mining provided your shot
3975s is good enough or you could use the most
3978s optimized mining with something like a
3980s beam laser uh because it has that plus
3983s 25 percent to all mining modifiers
3987s so do catalyst grades and traits stack
3990s now traits are applied to every single
3994s item across the board
3997s so all beam lasers have this plus 25 to
4000s all mining modifiers anytime you pick up
4002s a beam laser it's permanently on it it's
4005s just what beam lasers do
4007s so that's the beam lasers trait if you
4010s find a disintegrator same thing
4012s disintegrators all have the plus 25 to
4014s all mining modifiers so we could see a
4017s couple more traits
4019s show up we're gonna see more trades
4021s showing up but uh this is one example of
4024s how we're kind of moving into that
4025s territory where items can have certain
4028s features over others that may or may not
4031s matter to you maybe you're looking at
4032s this and you're like i just want my beam
4034s laser to shoot people great so you don't
4036s even have to worry about the mining
4037s modifier
4038s you don't it's a very consistent weapon
4041s gets the job done
4043s uh but of course if you are
4045s you are looking for as much
4047s pure
4048s iron as possible you know whatever and
4050s you want to extract as much as possible
4052s maybe the beam laser could be your best
4055s ally on that front as it increases all
4058s those modifiers by 25 of what it's
4061s rolled initially
4066s it's like speed on cruise booster yeah
4068s so um or like um speed word
4071s now the only recharges while boosting is
4074s also technically an
4075s item trait
4077s of the speed word uh kind of a bit of a
4079s negative one but that's because all its
4080s other stats are like heavily boosted
4082s right
4083s but you can see
4085s that
4085s they're going to be item traits across
4087s the board on a lot of different levels
4090s can be on modules it could be on weapons
4091s it could be on secondaries um that
4096s grant or deny something
4098s pertaining to the game space and how
4100s it's utilized it can also be specific to
4103s a variant of that modif of that module
4106s or weapon it could also be across the
4108s board for all types of that module or
4111s weapon uh it's something that we are
4113s exploring with right now and we're
4115s having a lot of fun with it
4117s but yeah as far as as far as this goes

4201s starforged item with a mining catalyst
4203s applied to it i absolutely modified this

4208s so you can still find really good stuff

4316s modifiers randomized and plugged in on
4318s an energy core for example you can't get
4320s that on a blaster
4322s it's only and will always be bound

4327s a beam laser it's making this equipment
4330s that you can go out and find a bit more
4333s differentiated from one another
4336s that's that's the main goal of how these

4342s so it's not relying on rng it's more
4345s focusing in on you as a player we're
4347s giving you player agency how would you

4465s what that item can do especially apart
4470s from any other item

4511s core or device usage or what have you or
4514s consumable usage

4574s still use one level lower and then star

4914s and also actually like the stats
4916s increase because the tiers have better
4918s stuff anyway

5435s either we really want to stretch the
5437s demographic out as far as possible in
5439s order to do that we have to take some
5441s measures of accessibility and also we
5443s don't like overwhelming players with way
5446s too much stuff and like how to play the
5448s game and whatnot so uh in general just
5451s in generally speaking the difficulty
5454s system is one means to help kind of
5456s guide players to that space that they're
5458s looking for uh if you want to play on
5461s easy mode play on easy mode
5463s we don't care
5464s that's fine you want to play on hard
5466s mode
5467s play on hard mode

5471s that is just it's it's very
5475s it's very generic
5477s so when you're playing on easy mode like
5478s it just makes enemies uh fail to shoot

5488s stuff like that it's not final we want
5491s the difficulty system to have a bit more
5493s of an impact in how that's shaping and
5495s changing the formula um and so uh yeah

5527s in-game state yet so we can't we can't
5530s reach that point yet not all the items
5532s and the combinations and the synergies
5533s are in place so we can't reach that

5539s that like we are not done with that we
5542s haven't gotten to that the
5543s implementation of the difficulty system
5545s was done mainly because it was more of a
5547s community request as opposed to its
5549s finalization but you have a general
5551s sense of what our vision looks like

5555s and so we will continue to push that we
5557s will continue to uh strengthen what that
5559s looks like for players to have that
5561s straight up accessibility
5563s while also providing a challenge for
5565s individuals who want to get the best
5567s bang on their buck and are satisfied by
5570s having to fully optimize
5572s fully kit out a particular build in
5575s order to overcome uh the challenges that
5577s are presented right
5579s and you see that through the mutators
