359s it's actually kind of game changing i'm
360s not i'm not gonna lie there's some
362s really cool stuff here and it's only
364s like six new mods just six that's it
367s there's only six of them and we're going
368s to talk about every single one and why
371s you should be as
373s excited about this as i am words can't
375s even form it's i'm like frothing at the
377s mouth it's it's fantastic i am super
380s pumped to share these with you
382s uh we'll also be cruising through the
384s parasite 2 mission chain um and as i
386s mentioned in the discord i've actually
388s never done this mission chain before

391s but eric you're like all invested in the
393s development process like i know what
395s happens like
396s but i've never actually i've never
398s played it my focus has been so many
400s other places so this is just as much my
402s treat as it is for you for those of you
404s who don't want to be spoiled types of
407s content like um new mission chains the
409s parasite two uh it's probably gonna take
414s 30 to 40 minutes oh gosh i hate not
416s having an exact time um but if you want
419s when we get started with the mission
421s i'll tell you when we're doing it we're
422s gonna start with missiles first but when
423s we get started with the mission um if
426s you wanted to back out for approximately
428s 30 minutes uh that should be all the
430s more it takes all right so that's enough
432s about that um let's go ahead and get
435s into where we left off
437s which i actually changed the location of
440s where i left off because i wanted to do
441s some fun side mission stuff to show off
443s these missiles
445s and uh yeah and away we go so here we
448s are we're in uh union this is not a high
451s risk location this is uh where is this
454s the volta nebula okay there we go there
455s we go so in the volte nebula we're right
457s outside of the parasite 2 mission chain
460s and there's a couple of things that we
461s can do in here
463s first so uh first off let's just cover
466s from
467s literally left to right i actually
469s pulled up all of the different
471s modifiers uh there's six here
474s these modifiers uh impact certain uh
478s certain items more than others and some
480s can't even be applied
482s to other ones
484s so let me go ahead and i'm actually
485s going to grab my cheat sheet here

492s so let's talk about some of these things
494s first things first
496s we've got these homing missiles here and
499s the modifiers are the most important
500s thing on each one of these we have plus
502s 30 damage for each second the missile
506s flies
508s excellent on average when you're
510s shooting at about uh two kilometers
514s excuse me oh my gosh the missile can fly
517s for approximately four or five seconds
520s six if you're like really pushing those
522s bounds so that's a pretty strong damage
524s increase that's 30 damage for each
526s second and so it's like so it doesn't go
528s like 30 and then 30 percent of 30 and
531s then 30 percent of 30 percent no it's
533s like adds 30 each time 30 60 90 120 150
538s keeps going
541s so
542s um this already opens up some new
544s possibilities for long distance play
547s which if we're being honest doesn't get
550s a lot of love
551s this is one of our first ways to crack
553s into that so scout players out there i
555s think you're gonna love this modifier
557s for your upcoming secondaries next one
560s we have
563s when doing critical damage with a
564s primary weapon there is a 30 chance to
567s automatically fire this weapon without
571s consuming
575s ammo say that again when doing critical
578s damage with a primary weapon there is a
580s 30 chance just to automatically fire it
584s without consuming ammo so precision
586s builds are going to start becoming a bit
588s more important for those proc effects
590s i do want to point out a very important
593s detail of this missile just in case
595s there's any confusion already because i
596s know some people are like oh can i put
598s like three of these missiles on a ship
600s and then it automatically fires three
602s different no no you can't do that it's
604s whatever one is actively equipped at the
608s time so if you have two missiles
610s that both have this mod
612s whatever missile is actively equipped
615s will auto fire not both of them okay
617s this is a very important distinction i
619s hope you all understand that otherwise
621s it would be completely unbalanced okay
623s so
625s uh very very good next one next one
627s we've got

629s the lock duration is halved um this is a
633s great time to point out that what you
635s are witnessing on the stream right now
638s is our bleeding edge build
641s our apps like we just updated this this

645s yes i can't freaking remember it was

648s and we plugged these in for kind of like
650s testing to see how effective they were
652s what not and we actually kind of don't
654s like how long this still takes so this
656s is actually going to be coming down and
658s it's going to be lock duration is
660s effectively removed there's going to be
662s a very short timing window um but half
665s is still too long it we just want the
666s lock duration basically removed that's
668s what that is going to end up being

674s 20 chance to refund ammo when firing

681s can have some combinations which we'll
684s be talking about in a moment

719s one that's specific to mines
722s mines are magnetic and will fly towards
724s enemies in a 500 meter radius oh my gosh
728s i love this mod um yeah there you go you
732s send them out there and uh don't worry
735s about the fact that it might not
736s technically make sense from a realistic
738s standpoint when you see the word
740s magnetic and you're a gamer you know
742s that that means it's going to go over to
745s something else and that's why we put
746s that wordage in there don't think too
749s much about it from a simulation realism
751s standpoint other your brain's going to
752s get fried but i tell you what this
755s effectively increases their effect range
758s and you just watch and go whoop whoop
760s whoop oh that's
762s all right um there are a couple of these
764s mods that can be on other missiles as
767s well as rockets
769s um i just wanted to cover a little bit
770s of that as well uh before we really get
773s cracked open into all of this uh the
775s plus uh 30 damage for each second the
777s missile flies this can also be this is
780s one of the few ones that can also be on
783s the rockets
787s yes so if you're firing rockets long
789s distance uh
791s this is this is wonderful to have this
793s is absolutely wonderful to have
796s we've got the critical damage one this
798s can effectively be like on every single
802s thing except for rockets because firing
805s one poultry rocket that doesn't home in
807s wouldn't feel good so we left that off
809s the list okay so you can't you don't get
812s an auto single rocket that does
816s three damage
817s no we're not we're gonna do that so you
818s can't accidentally roll that and then
820s feel bad
822s perfect
823s lock duration is half if it locks on
826s this can generate on it 20 chance to
829s refund ammo when firing this is also one
832s of those that can in fact be on rockets
835s and let me tell you what with how fast
837s you're firing this
839s pays for itself it's it's delightful you
842s get a high-capacity rocket launcher with
844s a 20 chance to refund ammo when firing
847s oh my gosh it's it's rather glorious let
850s me tell you what
854s all right uh next up we've got uh the
859s last three missiles do 300 damage this
861s can also be generated on the shield
864s breaker and armor breaker missiles but
866s that's it
867s and it might i would argue that it would
869s probably even be better on the shield
870s breaker and arbor breaker missiles
872s because you have a smaller capacity i
873s think their capacity in general is about
875s eight
876s so you're getting a massive bang for
878s your buck literally
879s um when you're using this effect there
883s and then this the mines this can apply
885s to every single mine type
888s every single mine type
890s that includes standard uh the corrosion
893s mines and weber mines
895s at this time
897s at this time excellent
900s so there's a huge slew of new properties
903s new traits that we're going to get to
904s play around with so let's talk about
906s some of these combinations
908s let's talk about some of these
909s combinations i already see a couple
910s people asking questions because
911s curiosities we're going to cover all of
913s it okay like almost every single one uh
916s but just kind of also to cut to the
917s chase since i know there's a lot of
918s individuals regarding the bomber like
921s well how does refunding work because it
922s works on energy how does that yes so it
925s basically doesn't use energy if it
927s refunds itself right um
930s that's how it would work if it was the
933s uh
934s which one
937s if it's this one again it doesn't use uh
940s anything uh was there another there was
942s another one i feel like
943s nope i think that's it that's mostly
945s gonna apply to the bomber now let's look
947s at some fun combinations okay so first
950s off we we have equipped ourselves
953s with these homing missiles
955s the last three missiles do 300 damage
958s and when doing critical damage with the
960s primary weapon there's a 30 chance to
961s automatically fire this weapon without
963s consuming ammo if it is equipped also
965s the lock duration is hacked
968s if you're already thinking about this
969s correctly
971s i'm gonna drain these missiles out
974s intentionally
978s now we're on the last three
981s win this auto fires
983s its damage is inherently increased by
986s 300
990s yes and that is working as intended

995s so if you really want to get the best
998s bang for your buck with this
1000s get a high precision build slap dat
1003s missile on and you're going to be firing
1005s free 300 damage increased missiles to
1009s your liking next up we also have these
1012s corrosion mines
1013s um also have the critical damage uh to
1015s auto fire um it also has a 20 chance to
1019s refund ammo when firing now this one's
1022s kind of fun because
1024s if i used several corrosion mines
1028s and it auto fires
1030s when it auto fires it actually has a
1032s chance to refund that and remember it's
1035s freely being used so this combination
1038s actually means it generates a free mine
1042s for you
1044s if we were at 13 out of 15 mines and we
1047s didn't fire it off naturally it was an
1049s auto fire and it like
1051s it refunded ammo we would then have 14
1054s out of 15 corrosion mines so you could
1056s effectively restock yourself
1060s yeah
1061s yeah fun little combinations there isn't
1064s it
1065s all right let's keep going
1066s rockets
1069s i just i just love these rockets i feel
1071s like these are really powerful rockets
1073s uh 30 damage for each second the missile
1075s flies
1077s 20 chance to refund ammo and firing and
1079s 20 chance to disable the target shield
1081s for two seconds with each hit
1083s basically this eliminates an opponent's
1086s shields and then does a lot of damage to
1088s boot yeah just it feels good
1091s that feels good
1095s next up and last last but not least
1099s i also wanted some web mines that could
1101s be really cheeky
1102s so these uh these also generate
1104s automatically which i love this is the
1107s the combination where it can fire
1109s automatically and refund itself as well
1112s as being magnetic
1114s so
1115s web mines in particular they don't do a
1117s lot of damage but when you stop your
1119s opponents in their tracks and you have
1121s something where you need everybody
1122s grouped together this can be a very
1124s ideal situation especially if you're
1126s using certain perks or modifiers that do
1129s uh more damage based on the number of
1132s conditions your opponent have you just
1134s plop this on your ship auto fires it
1136s basically adds another stack to whatever
1138s and then you keep on pounding it to your
1141s leisure
1142s so lots of different opportunities and
1143s ways to do this also because the mines
1145s are magnetic and cover that extra 500
1147s meter radius
1149s you can fully expect to cover
1152s even like ships flying all over the
1154s place like it zips on over we'll be
1156s showing this it feels really good it
1158s feels really really good i see a couple
1161s more questions about how does this all
1162s work with the bummers basically it works
1164s exactly as you would expect in the sense
1168s that if you are getting a refunded
1169s charge it doesn't spend any energy
1172s whatsoever on the bomber as a completely
1175s free of charge shot
1176s um and that's basically it just think
1179s about like quality quantities as energy
1182s if you refund it can actually charge up
1184s your energy slightly i think it might be
1186s hard to uh combine that effect but it's
1189s still very much there and very valuable
1191s should you find a certain build to
1193s circulate it
1197s all right so now let me look over at the
1198s chats answer some questions
1201s and before magnetic minds cause player
1203s death due to detonator drones
1206s i have been experimenting with that and
1208s uh was definitely uh before the stream
1211s went live it may or may not be why my
1213s plating is completely destroyed but
1214s don't you worry about that okay it's fun
1218s it's fun and interesting and dang it
1220s we're happy that we have these new mods
1222s uh because through the slew of these six
1224s new mods for secondaries in addition to
1227s other of the popular ones like a 20
1230s chance to disable the target shield for
1231s two seconds with each hit you're
1233s starting to see a lot of variety and
1235s opportunities i'm sure you can you guys
1237s are smart so you see how all of these
1239s different combinations are coming
1240s together so let me just actively show
1242s you
1243s we've got these homing missiles now
1247s i put them all the way down to three so
1249s we're going to be getting basically
1250s three shots
1253s just by having it equipped
1258s all we have to do is start hitting our
1259s opponent
1265s no free missile there that's fine ah
1267s there we go
1268s and as you can see that missile does a
1269s pretty tremendous amount of damage
1274s and that half duration lock on sure why
1277s not
1278s you can see how effective it is um
1282s and just getting that lock on super fast
1284s but again we want that to get just a
1285s little bit faster oh here's a good one
1287s we're gonna use the pulse laser on the
1289s armor so that we get more proc chances
1294s so it's completely auto firing this
1296s missile that's doing a pretty strong
1298s amount of damage now some of you guys
1300s might be thinking oh my gosh that's so
1301s broken that's doing so much damage i
1304s mean
1306s some of the combinations you can do with
1307s weaponry
1309s now secondaries actually matter on this
1311s front and we're very pleased with these
1313s results
1315s very pleased

1323s so here are our corrosion mines and
1325s again i think these yeah these are
1326s magnetic
1328s so here we can uh we can go over here to
1330s the proto scout and just kind of watch
1333s them
1336s why they didn't even have to move okay
1339s all right sorry sorry guys uh
1343s they're kind of moving towards where
1345s they need to go but uh they're they're
1346s lacking because i'm being too accurate
1348s let me try that again uh but you there
1350s actually is like a little visual
1352s modifier that shows them zipping over
1355s here let's uh
1359s oh man and look at look at all this ammo
1361s that we uh still have

1375s yeah all right you can see there you go
1377s that one got pulled over and it missed
1379s and now it's cycling back around oh my

1383s oh yeah
1385s that feels good
1387s they weren't quite where i needed them
1388s to be and the mines were like don't care

1400s so lots of new ways that you can
1402s approach the game space just through
1405s your secondary mods i'm already eager to
1408s see what you guys will be coming up with
1410s once this uh does go live uh in the
1413s summer oh my gosh that feels so long
1415s from now
1418s but uh rest assured
1421s we are looking into lots of different
1423s modifiers at this time
1425s lots of them
1427s and just trying to figure out what's
1428s going to be the best bet to um
1431s you know implement and allow you to get
1433s super crazy with your builds
1436s a lot of primary weapon builds are
1437s already rather explosive but the
1439s secondaries
1441s a lot of people were just pairing it
1442s with like a destabilizer missile just to
1443s make the primaries even better but like
1445s homing missiles not really something
1447s that a lot of people use rockets
1449s i mean they're cool looking but still
1451s like to really maximize damage you don't
1453s really go there these mods change that
1457s actively changing it
1462s floria asking okay yeah so one more i'm
1464s just gonna do the follow-up to that just
1466s to make sure everybody's super well
1468s aware i don't understand though does it
1470s now need to be active or just equipped
1472s like with the mines active without the
1474s auto fire would it still auto fire so
1477s this is a good question
1478s it's fired from your ship not fired as
1481s in like it starts to do its own thing
1483s and then explodes right so on that front
1486s mines being active out there they're not
1490s going to regenerate once they hit it's
1492s when it's fired from the ship
1495s okay
1496s um otherwise
1498s it has to be actively equipped on your
1501s ship so between these two both of these
1504s regenerate or both of these have a
1505s chance to auto fire right
1507s if i'm attacking like this
1510s and i get a critical hit
1512s the corrosion mine will fire off and now
1516s if i'm attacking like this exact same
1517s thing because i've cycled over to the
1519s homing missile it would auto fire
1521s instead you don't get them both you just
1523s get the one that's active the one that's
1525s present basically right here
1528s so it's a good question
1530s so make sure that everybody understands
1532s that
1536s so fun new ways to explore and
1538s experiment with your secondaries
1541s and i'm already looking forward to what
1542s you guys do
1548s uh spoon knight says in and this is a
1550s great point and something that we have
1552s been testing um and we'll probably get a
1555s little bit of a change so i'm going to
1556s read this out loud and then explain um
1558s so spoot knight over on twitch says if
1560s you could get a high like actually high
1562s crit chance with a scatter gun and a
1564s gunship could you potentially uh itano
1567s circus missiles sordov
1570s so
1571s there will likely be a restriction on
1573s this auto fire and that restriction
1576s simply put will be
1578s it can only happen like every 1.5
1580s seconds
1582s so if you found a way to like spam crits
1585s super fast which we will probably likely
1588s have a means to be able to do you will
1590s not spam auto missiles
1593s as well
1594s you would have to either spam crits for
1597s four-year weaponry
1598s while the restriction here would be like
1601s it only fires off every 1.5 uh seconds
1605s so you're still getting a pretty strong
1607s firing rate of three missiles let's be
1609s honest
1610s however it's not going to just like
1612s insta-stack and you fire 14 missiles all
1614s at once if you hit a crit with a scatter
1617s gun and you know every single one
1619s somehow critic
1621s right
1625s some people saying brain is melt laser
1628s head over on youtube
1629s excellent
1632s are there only two superior catalysts in
1634s the game right now correct
1637s that is correct there will be more
1638s catalysts added though for sure
1641s are these going to be catalysts also
1643s with a missile proc having an
1644s occasionally fire while using your
1646s weapons possibly kill you when
1647s anti-missile drones are around so
1650s excuse me um it's more than possible for
1653s catalysts to add modifiers to weaponry
1655s uh we've seen that already based on the
1658s mining catalyst right it adds three adds
1661s all three of the mining modifiers
1662s directly to a weapon
1664s it's possible um there's a lot of
1666s balancing that we still are doing around
1668s catalysts but i guess the short answer
1670s um
1672s just to cover our ground is yeah i mean
1674s it's definitely something that could
1676s show up we have to figure out and we
1678s want to figure out what are going to be
1680s those optimal level of modifiers that
1683s don't take away
1684s from the actual searching for loot
1687s crafting is not meant to replace
1690s searching searching we want to be the
1693s primary way for you to get the best
1696s stuff crafting is meant to complement
1699s that so if you want to tweak it a little
1700s bit further if you want to take it up to
1702s that next level we want to have those
1704s means but we don't want you to be able
1706s to say take an item that's absolutely
1709s worthless and then invest a bajillion
1711s things into it through the crafting
1713s system and have the ultimate weapon
1716s okay
1717s so that that is very much by design and
1719s why we're going that direction
1724s all right
1724s um so let's see
1726s answer i'll answer a couple more and
1728s then we will keep exploring this area
1736s hang on a second i missed a comment
1749s we can't drain our ammo on the bomber to
1751s three house the last three missiles do
1752s 300 damage going to work on bombers
1755s effectively when you are really low on
1757s energy in the bomber uh when it's like
1760s the last
1764s the last sliver of it like basically
1767s under 30 or something like that then
1770s you'll start seeing that benefit that's
1772s how that will uh that's planned to work
1774s i don't know if that's actually
1775s implemented yet but that has been a
1777s point of discussion
1779s so yeah uh we do want the bomber to
1781s actively take advantage of all of these
1783s modifiers as well if anybody's wondering
1785s it's not like these are meant to
1786s compensate for the bombers super
1789s abilities with secondary so all the
1790s other ships get something no
1792s these weapons should work in tandem with
1795s any ship including the bomber
1798s so if your energy is low it should very
1800s much apply that added damage when you
1803s are flying the bomber
1805s so good question
1808s let me see if i missed anything else i
1811s of course did but we are going to keep
1812s playing because i'm talking a lot and i
1814s want to show you guys stuff
1820s i see the same question was asked over
1822s on twitch as well so i'm glad that we
1823s were able to address that one
1839s what about it killing you with missile
1841s drones around yeah i mean you just have
1842s to be careful with your weaponry i mean
1844s okay so i this is something that i found
1846s particularly interesting
1848s we even adjusted the flak damage right
1852s as a player
1854s you know that a flat damage triggers
1856s when it gets near an opponent
1860s yes you know this you have this
1863s knowledge you understand it of course
1866s you're firing at enemies far away it
1869s triggers far away and explodes dealing
1871s damage to all the enemies around it
1874s if an opposing missile is directly in
1876s your face
1877s and you fire a flak at your opponent
1879s who's very far away
1882s what do you think is going to happen
1885s if your expectation is the flak
1887s shouldn't hit you or the missile and it
1890s should go directly to your opponent i'm
1892s sorry you are incorrect the flak is
1894s intentionally designed to
1897s flock missiles
1899s out of space so that it defends you but
1901s you have to shoot them at range right or
1904s you need to be shooting it at a ship at
1906s range in order to cover that damage
1909s we are not responsible for you blowing
1911s yourself up because you the use the
1912s flack directly in front of you as a
1915s splash damage weapon okay if you're
1917s surrounded by enemies and you're
1919s shooting a flak all willy-nilly and
1921s explodes in your face
1923s i'm sorry but that's on you
1925s like we even reduce the self-damage but
1928s you have to understand the weapon or to
1930s maximize its usage you don't want a
1932s weapon blowing up in your face
1934s don't use a weapon that blows up in your
1936s face
1937s you have to use the weapon the way it's
1939s intended to maximize its results with
1942s mines that auto lock onto opponents if
1944s you use a mine with an enemy that's
1947s directly in front of you
1950s what is your expectation to happen there
1954s because ours is that you blow your
1956s freaking self up
1958s be smart about how you use your weaponry
1960s and we go from there hopefully that's a
1962s good point of clarity for people who
1964s somehow didn't understand that um i know
1966s that a lot of you do and thank you for
1968s your understanding and capitalizing on
1970s these situations with certain weapons
1973s being more effective at certain things
1974s than others it's great
1977s alright
1982s so

1987s let's get back into this
1989s uh this location um
1992s let's just let's go to the parasite
1993s mission
1999s seems way different than using the flak

2002s how many legit i legitimately want to
2004s know bearded frog how often do you use

2070s he even had an idea why you might not
2073s have been affected okay elaborate
2076s your outdated hive unit offers a degree
2079s of protection through its obsolescence
2081s if i had a hand i would slap you across

2085s so my ship is immune
2087s the parasite following its parasitic

2091s was not designed to attack colonial tech
2093s but it is learning
2095s it is trying to find a way in
2098s but more importantly it seems the
2100s parasite you found at the nordborg was
2102s able to imitate human behavior it
2105s communicated with you is that right

2346s it could make more sense for certain

2354s that so we are designing it with freedom

2358s the ways the means to um
2361s optimize those particular builds to get
2364s the best bang for your buck for that

2374s utilize these features to the best cases

6761s predominantly brown and murky appearance
6765s much more mystery is coming out of
6767s zarkov as it should be this was
6769s intentionally designed as such and it's
6770s being captured really well on that front
