128s we were noticing a pretty distinct issue

143s i didn't hit the target it just got
145s close enough and then it exploded right
147s and it deals damage to everything nearby
150s and that was actually killing a lot of

154s whenever you were too close to a target
156s or target would zip right in front of

159s it was bad news bears
161s um also israeli bombers look they have
162s shields

168s what we did is for the flak
170s now whenever you are within a certain

174s the flak does not trigger its radial

178s so what that means is
179s if i'm shooting somebody
181s and a drone goes flying by directly in
184s front of my face and i shoot my flak
185s instead of it immediately exploding on
187s the ship to hit the drone right there it
190s ignores that radial attack and it just
193s fires off until it's at a certain range

820s when you're crafting something you're
821s like shoot man i really need that
823s consumable i need an energy shield on
825s the fly you know whatever okay so you
827s can craft it on the fly
828s you've got them all right cool and now
831s you have to now you have to equip them
834s and guess what if you're in combat 20
836s seconds

839s so you can still craft
841s you can still craft
843s when you're in combat but there's still
845s ramifications
847s if you're trying to use it immediately
848s right so that's the big trade-off we're
850s like we don't need to double down on
852s this there's we're gonna allow crafting
854s in the heat of combat however
857s there are still ramifications for being
860s in combat
861s to equip
863s last but not least
865s the weapons
866s did get tweaked to where
868s you know same same thing on that front
870s like if you were to craft a weapon you
871s plug it in it doesn't look like there's
873s any ramifications for plugging this in

876s an umbra that's nice

879s ramifications there may be a symbol
882s that's plugged into this in the future i
884s i don't know because this doesn't matter
886s if you're in combat or not
889s any time you equip a new weapon

894s it starts with zero energy

899s you have to equip the weapon to your

909s so again what this means is you're
911s outside of combat you equip a new weapon
913s it's like you don't really even have to
914s think about it there's not really too
916s much ramification because you don't have
917s to use it immediately
918s but if you've got like
920s a ship that has two weapon slots and
923s you're like oh man i need to swap to a
924s different weapon for this different
925s enemy
927s there's a reason why we restricted
929s certain number of slots for weapons and
930s secondaries and consumables and it's
932s because
934s you have to utilize what you have there
936s using other tools to mix and match you
938s can't just have a full cargo of weapons
940s so that you basically have an infinite
942s number of weapon slots that you can
944s interchange at any time nope you cannot
946s do that
948s i was not in the design
950s so
951s equipping a weapon
954s first you're going to need it to charge
955s up before you can start
957s utilizing it
960s it does not have to be active to start
962s charging up
964s it just has to be equipped
966s so if you have two weapon slots you plug
968s in a new weapon you just have to use the
970s first weapon first while the second one
972s charges up
973s then you can use the second one once
975s it's charged
976s or partially closed you can use a
978s partial charge too

1044s am seriously loving the vindicators
1046s designs like i i even told matthias this

1050s you guys probably recognize this even
1051s from the streams like vindicator's not
1053s really my play style i'm not really the
1055s best at using it okay uh that's not to
1057s say the ship is bad because i've seen
1058s you guys uh use it pretty well even
1061s before we've rebalanced it so it's only
1063s gonna get better for you right but uh
1066s it's just not my playstyle i don't like
1068s managing drones uh i i just want my own
1071s ship i like the stinger for example i
1073s like the striker
1074s um but you know i'm also a really big
1076s fan of the scout
1082s really big fan of scout so uh what you
1084s see here we've got another set of wings
1086s that the scout has received this is the
1088s banshee wings
1090s so the first set of wings was the uh
1093s spirit
1094s this one is the banshee um you can also
1097s see we've got some uh
1098s little extra buttons here and that's
1101s because of the perks that we have on
1103s terrain for those of you who missed the
1105s conversation about terrain
1107s we now have a ship dealer's perk i'll
1109s kind of move my head out of the way you
1110s pause the screen take a screenshot if
1112s you will to cover that if you want we
1114s did talk about this last week so i'm not
1116s really going to cover it again basically
1118s more ship opportunities and you can
1120s customize the ships a little bit so for
1122s uh example like our band sheet two we've
1124s got
1125s 30 increased weapon range and 100
1127s increased boost energy regeneration
1129s during shadow strike let's just say i
1130s don't want that
1132s we talk about the passives
1137s now it's 100 increased boost energy
1139s regeneration during shadow strike at 30
1141s increased weapon range

1150s that's
1151s hilarious but it cycles through all the
1155s different passes for the ship and it
1156s applies
1158s to entirely random
1160s new ones and i
1162s they can be
1163s the exact same
1165s uh
1166s awesome something else that i
1168s particularly like this just
1170s for me uh you guys probably like it too
1172s but you can only do this once uh this
1175s hasn't been completely refined and
1176s there'll be more tweaking on it because
1177s what i can do is i can just keep
1179s pressing the toggle passives and it
1181s keeps saying what the passes are
1183s over and over and over again
1185s for me i like that
1187s i like that so much that it's like i
1189s almost don't even want to look at the
1190s passes like i'll just look at a
1191s different ship
1192s and i'll just be like hey what are the
1194s passives and i'll just hit the button
1195s and i'll read the passives right there
1197s okay i don't like that so i'll go to the
1198s next one
1199s like that's for me that that works
1202s that's not optimal of course but uh
1204s there it is
1205s so you'll be able to toggle your
1207s passives get something new hopefully
1209s then you can also completely refresh the
1211s ship offers entirely uh whenever you
1213s have that perk
1215s we're not going to do that instead we're
1216s going to purchase this banshee uh we're
1218s just going to buy and sell current
1220s because that's how i operate in these
1221s live streams
1224s just to look at it
1226s just to look at it a little bit further
1231s um also i want a different i want a
1232s different body and engines and uh
1235s i can cheat to get through that oh auto
1238s saving when leaving oh goodness gravy
1240s isn't that nice how fluid that is
1243s i'm gonna do that one more time because
1244s i really want to put emphasis oh my gosh
1246s i actually like the way this looks from
1247s behind
1250s so the auto saving this was just tweaked

1262s this was tweaked to where now when
1264s you're launching the auto save happens

1269s and then your transition into the game
1271s is flawless there's no pause

1275s subtle for me it made a pretty huge

1285s because these are the tier two wings for
1287s this wing set and of course you guys
1289s want to see the tier one i like my scout
1290s to be a little bit smaller however

1296s uh maybe maybe even this like we're
1298s gonna go super traditional scout and
1299s maybe even like
1301s uh yeah we're just gonna like
1303s we're just gonna crunch it

1312s gives you a pretty strong uh
1314s understanding of what's happening here
1318s but then in addition to that you know of
1320s course we've got the we got the tier one
1322s wings for it

1333s what a cute guy and then you got the
1335s tier twos
1339s so matthias has been hard at work uh he
1341s also told me that alex i believe plays a
1343s pretty
1344s or is it alex or tony i think it's alex
1346s also plays a pretty decent role in uh
1349s making sure that these ship models are
1350s coming together um and uh yeah we're
1353s pretty happy with the results thus far
1356s pretty stinking happy and of course
1358s there's still a lot more to come
1369s scout was like my favorite ship in
1371s everspace one so seeing it get a little
1373s bit more variety i just i'm very pleased
1375s i i just want to play around with it so

1512s our build is we got fusion hook energize
1514s boost nano transmitter so we are going
1516s to zip around like a madman as well as
1518s heal just in case the going gets rough

1522s and you know what shoot maybe we should
1524s talk about some additional perks
1526s maybe because we really like healing
1528s it's like our favorite thing of all time
1531s let's just talk about some perks
1535s delia has a new perk it's called
1537s nanobots
1539s pretty straightforward pretty
1540s straightforward okay
1543s and uh
1544s this
1546s it's it's simple
1548s simple feature to help your nanobots
1550s just be better that's what it is
1552s she's a doctor she's a ship doctor okay
1555s she's a ship doctor she's a human doctor
1557s and a ship doctor don't question it this
1560s is how it works and so in the nanobot
1563s field
1564s we can invest we can invest them all
1566s because i don't want to take the time to
1567s push the button multiple times
1571s double the repair speed of nanobots
1575s then we can uh
1577s upgrade again to where nanobots will
1578s also repair nearby allies
1581s so vindicators
1584s you're welcome that's actually kind of a
1586s big deal for vindicators i feel like
1589s now in the heat of combat you have to
1591s pop nanobots that's going to synergize
1593s so much better with your drones
1596s so much better
1597s and then last but not least
1599s nanobots will also repair armor
1602s for half their percentage oh my goodness
1605s what is this nonsense
1608s what is that nanobots now start
1610s repairing
1611s your armor too
1614s so in the heat of combat and everything
1616s starts getting drained down you pop your
1618s nanobots it's going to start
1619s replenishing your hole it's going to
1620s start replenishing that armor that is
1622s clearly gone otherwise you wouldn't be
1624s taking that hole damage then your
1625s shields are going to start to recharge
1627s and you're going to be able to get back
1629s into the fray so nanobots as a whole
1632s because of this particular perk are
1634s going to see an increase in use i think
1637s they're going to see an increase in use
1639s this also i believe applies to the nano
1642s injector
1647s i'm super confident in that comment oh
1649s my gosh that's the one thing i didn't
1651s check ah
1653s but uh yeah
1656s we'll have to test it i suppose that's
1657s the only way to be sure right we'll have
1659s to test it out
1661s but uh for standard nanobot for anybody
1663s who's like wondering like what the the
1664s steering nanobots are let's go ahead and
1666s craft some right so we have these large
1669s nanobots we'll go ahead and plug these
1671s into the ship

1674s boom
1675s so they repair seventy percent of whole
1677s hit points over ten seconds
1681s seventy percent of whole hit points over
1682s ten seconds so because of this perk
1686s it's going to repair that
1688s twice as fast
1690s so five seconds
1691s it's gonna repair nearby allies
1694s and it's also gonna repair armor for
1695s half that percentage so 35 of our armor
1698s is going to be restored as well

1905s say it's also uh dying apparently oh my

1916s just get completely wrecked by this

1924s we used a nano injector and you know
1926s what happened it instantly repaired 40
1928s whole hit points and 20 percent of our
1931s armor so it does apply to all
1932s nanotechnologies
1934s so uh that's just a simple matter
1937s of how this needs to be communicated we
1939s will make that adjustment straight up

2820s have to be rewarded for your time that

2832s the mutators are not finalized there are
2834s still more coming some might end up
2836s being removed uh there's one that we
2838s really like but also hasn't been

2844s we like it conceptually but its
2845s execution is a little bit uh frustrating
2848s and of course it doesn't generate on any
2850s of these
2852s but it's called i think it's called

2855s so the concept behind it is that one
2857s enemy at a time can be attacked and
2859s that's it and you have to destroy that
2861s before the next one and what we were
2863s seeing is that like there'd be an
2864s armored drone somewhere that you
2866s couldn't
2867s kill and so you'd have to mow through
2869s like a drone then a fighter than a
2872s bomber as everything else is pummeling

2876s we kind of counteracted that by making
2878s the loot density a lot better if you get
2880s that mutator but it takes a long time so

3470s they can outmaneuver thermoguns they can
3472s kind of be annoying but that's

3614s about this feels really cool because
3616s even though this weapon doesn't do a lot
3617s of damage it recharges pretty fast right
3621s um so there's kind of like a
3623s satisfaction there but then you also you
3624s know up the ante you get a much more
3626s powerful weapon you higher level and
3629s tandem with that again that level five
3631s uh energy core now all of a sudden
3634s you're doing damage and you're like
3635s doing the proper energy man thing and
3636s then like you start building up even
3638s further you get like your level eight
3639s weapon whatever and your energy core is
3641s not satisfactory so now you're cycling
3643s between like multiple powerful weapons
3645s but the energy is kind of garbage so you
3646s have to take out your opponents because
3648s you don't have enough energy oh my gosh
3650s what's this tangent he's going on anyway
3651s my point is is that it's much more
3653s satisfying when you put those pieces
3655s together to maximize the benefit of your
3657s energy it is so much better than what it
3660s was before because before
3662s you know i would talk on it and i would
3663s like try to put emphasis on it but it
3665s really wasn't that profound

3669s that the system where the progression of
3673s scaling
3674s energy as well as damage
3676s is so much more applicable now in this
3679s next build it's not something that
3683s you'll really notice until you're not
3686s managing your equipment

3771s utilizing you know your special your
3773s passives your all your equipment you
3775s know all that fun stuff but if you're
3777s not taking care of yourself like if
3779s you're avoiding your structure

3788s um i had a level 20 uh was a scouter
3792s vanguard
3795s i think i was flying a vanguard
3797s it was one of the light ships the light
3799s ship was the most important thing here
3800s it was a level 20 light ship i think it
3802s was a vanguard and i went up against a
3804s level 20 fighter and i decided to see
3807s what would happen if i equipped like
3808s full-blown firepower on this build right
3812s and by doing that it was
3814s so incredibly satisfying to see me
3817s dropping these level 20s as a level 20
3820s like flies
3822s and if they got like three or four shots
3824s on me

3829s like i'm not joking like the glass
3831s cannon build if you are
3834s just focusing into one thing
3837s now that's actually
3838s possible to become is like a glass
3841s cannon if you want to establish a more

5454s further you get the more rewards you're
5456s gonna get from it uh this is an end game

5465s surrounding it how it's being
5466s accomplished and
5467s more accurate description thereof will
5470s come out
5471s this fall but everything what i just
5473s spoke on has been public we've talked
5475s about it even uh in the kickstarter

5918s but the fixed do how do you distinguish
5920s between the two they both literally look
5922s exactly the same so um there's very
5926s likely going to be some tweak adjustment
5928s modifier or addition maybe even
5930s subtraction to how that operates but as
5933s far as like
5934s uh the missions themselves

5941s the fact that some of the side missions
5942s are hidden until you go to certain
5944s locations and talk to certain people or

6603s you use them once and then they're gone
6605s uh and so when you fire off that sticky
6607s turret it fires it sticks it's gonna
6610s stay there until it's either destroyed
