347s tweaks and stuff have been made since

356s and start off with some sound effects

367s couple of different pulse lasers okay um
370s they're all the standard pulse laser
373s but one of the things that we decided on
375s doing going through the game we just
377s said you know what we want more sound

382s and the way that we could incorporate
383s that instead of it just being like every
386s different type
387s variant
388s of a weapon we also thought well maybe
390s there could be different sounds for the
393s tier of the weapon so this is
395s fresh out of the gate okay like
399s pulled from the oven it's still hot
401s uh let's let's just have a listen to
404s some of these updated sounds um as you
406s guys know we have been revamping these
409s last week i showed the autocannon
411s so let's just start off with the pulse
413s laser straight up oh my gosh so many
415s people saying hello
416s hello hello welcome

422s my eyes have sound waves good good
425s all right so let's start off this is an
427s uncommon pulse laser it has the same
429s sound effect as a common pulse laser uh
431s but yeah here we go

612s first priority i have is getting a

627s and let's let's get some stuff so i've
628s never been here in this safe file so we
631s are going to uh head on over here see
634s what we can pick up
635s listen to the new pulse lasery sounds
640s and keep going from there can you show
641s the superior beam laser i will do my

648s some of you guys said i prefer the
649s uncommon version over the rare and
651s superior
652s that is fantastic i'm glad you guys have
655s preferences and
657s like certain sounds over the other just
659s like how you like certain wings of ships
662s over the other
663s um or body types
667s things that may or may not necessarily
669s matter but could be really cool from a
671s customization standpoint
675s that is really cool to hear
680s all right we need a we need to be able
681s to hit our targets up here

690s and there's also a couple other like
692s little minor tweaks and details that
694s i'll uh talk about

699s uh like with the
701s secondaries this was
703s is actually discussed in the discord uh
705s little spoiler but if you're in the
707s discord sometimes i share things just a
709s tad early just like two or three people

713s oh but yeah we uh
716s we did end up adjusting our secondary
719s modifiers a little bit further just for
721s balancing purposes and making sure all
723s the modifiers were desirable
727s so for example the last missile fired
730s out when you're on the last three uh
732s only does double damage it's plus 100
735s damage as opposed to uh the 300
738s initially started at that was scaled
740s back to 200. um
742s in short just keep it brief uh it was
745s the go-to mod for your secondary weapon
748s and we kept scaling it back until it
751s felt appropriate and challenging to
753s discern between which mod is the best
756s and we do feel at a hundred percent it
758s starts getting uh curiously
761s uh
762s challenging
763s when you are making the comparisons
766s especially if you're looking at uh plus
769s 30 damage for each second the missile
771s fires because if that fires for a little
774s over
775s three seconds then all of a sudden you
778s are already getting the exact benefit
780s that this one offers the plus 100 damage
783s except you're getting it with every
785s single
786s shot
787s so you have to discern and say well do
789s am i going to utilize this mod correctly
792s is it according to my play style am i
794s going to you know
795s is is that going to give me satisfaction
797s or do i want to do something that auto
799s fires does explosive amount of damage
802s but it's limited you know stuff stuff
803s like that right
806s so little little balance adjustments
808s still on that front
809s which you guys knew was gonna happen uh
812s to a degree
814s we don't want it we don't want the game
816s too exploitable now that would uh that
818s would be a problem
820s so we uh we ended up getting
823s a mainframe components

827s reduce these out because i think they're
829s a little over the top at the moment
831s and just kind of mix things around

839s now we've done that there's an unknown

867s i like all three but would be sad if the

894s do some percussive maintenancing because
896s that did actually get modified um

904s perk adjustments very briefly
907s very briefly so um i don't have it
910s active at the moment but we did end up
912s making this change somebody in the
914s discord suggested this but we already
918s were moving in the direction so i do
919s want to give praise uh to uh the
922s individual in the discord who was like
924s oh yeah it should just affect the armor
926s as well so when the armor is hit it also
928s triggers um yeah that was exactly what
931s we wanted to do we felt that was the
932s need to change especially because the
935s way percussive maintenance was initially
937s designed
938s was before armor
940s was regenerating in combat so the repair
944s per kill attribute of plating did not
947s exist yet when percussive maintenance
950s was created
951s hence why it wasn't
953s it wasn't working
954s it wasn't working so that's been
956s adjusted
958s armor and hole now applies no my armor
961s and shieldless builds no dude you don't
962s have to have armor it still works with
965s the hole
966s it still works if you don't have any
968s armor
969s but uh just note that you know
972s it also applies to armor now
975s so there you go
976s um and then there's also another change
979s that we made to the perks um so kala the
981s location scanner
983s so as you know we had we had changed
986s this to where
987s uh this would tell you the resources
991s in the areas right like it would show
994s you um
995s they would tell you oh there's an
996s unknown or an unknown crystal here
998s this is a bit
1000s later in the game it's about in the mid
1002s game to mid late game
1004s of uh how everything transitions through
1007s uh regarding the campaign pacing
1009s and through that
1011s uh we recognize that
1013s it feels like when you acquire it now
1015s it's like you have to go into backtrack
1017s mode right didn't
1019s really feel that good so we changed the
1021s pacing of how
1022s resources can be acquired

1028s so now at the end of sector one
1031s when you acquire the hive you gain a new
1033s perk which you can invest in which
1035s reveals potential mining yields for each
1037s location on the star map so instead of
1039s wading all the way into the kait nebula
1042s at the end of sido
1045s fresh through the warp gate you can get
1047s this immediately and start cataloging
1050s your findings right then and there
1052s instead of
1053s waiting to catalog your findings and
1055s then go back and do it all
1059s so
1060s excellent
1061s i believe those are the only two
1063s uh
1064s fairly decent perk changes at the moment
1068s still pretty relevant
1069s um i'm just looking at this because
1071s there was just a conversation at the
1072s discord
1074s for no apparent reason anyway let's go

1233s also want to make sure that going back

1236s all of the previously played sections of
1239s the game still feel really ripe
1241s for the pickings feel really clever feel
1244s really good
1248s so that's uh what we've been up to

1264s just to do this puzzle alone

1505s has really crappy rewards and that will

1781s now greener that was probably a bad
1782s example because drones move faster
1787s but because they can't move it's super
1789s easy to annihilate them

1890s there are some modifiers
1892s mutators that now appear on the decoder

1910s wild and in a lot of cases uh these this
1914s is like for your really hardcore
1916s challenge players okay and i know that
1919s just perked the ears of several of you
1920s out there um because again we had a lot
1923s of fun making these and we're not done
1925s there's gonna be a lot more added uh
1927s probably and there's also probably gonna
1930s be a couple removed uh maybe because you
1932s know balancing it's a it's a try and
1934s true method and game dev play hey let's
1936s add this and see what it works and then
1938s we realize it doesn't but rest assured
1942s we want to make this go to the next

2012s have increased movement speed random
2013s item is overheated every 10 seconds um
2016s every time an enemy is destroyed all
2017s enemies present gain plus five speed
2019s shields armor and hole or
2021s do we want enemies randomly one to three

2025s enemies are resistant to emp and there's
2027s two bosses
2029s i'm going to call this a i'm going to
2030s call that b you guys choose and then i
2032s will start answering some curious
2034s questions but don't get too crazy with
2035s your questions yet because we are going

2166s be a shame if you were stuck with the

2176s maybe there will be ways to circumvent
2178s it in the future perhaps

2291s to emp and there will be two bosses

2327s and after every single kill the boss
2330s bond just gets a little bit closer
2332s so you have a much more contained space
2335s to deal with here
2337s instead of having all the enemies
2340s up front in your face at the very start
2342s you kind of have to deal with them in
2343s partial waves now
2345s so even if i would have had like the
2347s most perfect alt
2349s you know took out every single enemy in
2351s the first
2353s blast i would not be uh i would not see
2356s the boss yet
2360s now i'm gonna test something here for
2362s kicks and giggles
2363s nope it is rightfully immune all right

2380s man those level 25 drones they are super
2382s beepy
2387s a little bit surprised by that honestly
2391s and another change to mention
2394s some of you might be wondering wait why
2396s isn't there any loot
2401s well i'll tell you why because it's not
2403s going to drop until you beat the boss
2411s subtle changes that we feel create a
2413s pretty large impact on how
2415s high-risk areas are managed
2420s so again these are these are your
2422s challenge
2423s spaces in the game
2425s as of right now without full late game
2428s additions
2431s these are gonna be what you use to screw
2433s around with
2435s and have a generally good time i think
2439s see just how
2440s strong your builds out how nuts you can
2444s make things
2453s low-key glad that ellick is here
2455s distracting enemies for me
2463s these sniper drones though i'll tell you

2466s i am i'm not pleased with them warping

2478s little bit about them in general they've

2481s they're inspired by a number of other
2483s games that we play including some like
2485s roguelike experiences

2492s you just want to like try things out

2510s and just generally have more fun right
2512s you know you're not really sure uh
2515s what high risk area is going to have to
2517s offer
2519s and can change things uh in a healthy
2521s capacity

4435s something like that t3 cube we feel
4437s might be more on the lines of being a
4439s bit too game breaking from a player

4444s and the reason for that is when you have
4446s something like your shield completely
4448s disabled
4449s and say you're flying
4451s let's say you're flying a sentinel which
4453s fully relies on a massive shield and
4456s maybe it's paired with something that
4458s deals 70 energy damage back from the
4460s attacker's own shield and you have like
4462s this
4463s thorns styled
4465s play what the way you utilize your
4468s sentinel right if then we had
4471s a restriction that said you have zero
4472s percent shields we have effectively
4475s neutered your build
4479s there's a distinct difference between
4481s wanting to
4483s challenge you through restriction
4486s and
4487s taking away
4492s and we don't want to take away we want
4494s to challenge so we're looking at a lot
4497s of aspects of these modifiers and order
4500s mutators
4502s we're looking at a lot of the mutators
4504s from that sense on how we can approach
4506s that space
4508s but i wouldn't be surprised if maybe
4510s there was one that was like a shield
4512s disrupted area right where your shields
4515s regenerate a little bit slowly like it's
4517s uh has 25 reduction regeneration
4520s something like that which can actually
4521s make a pretty big difference depending
4523s on your build depending on your needs

4526s but again we don't want to take away

4793s level of mutators handicaps etc and a
4796s challenge mode style maybe iron man

4801s could be a lot of fun to incorporate in
4802s everspace too uh you know by all means
4804s let us know i am not going to guarantee

4818s cannot upgrade legendary items is there
4820s legendary gear there is legendary gear
4823s planned for the future it is not

4830s top
4831s tier um in addition to it being
4834s uh uniquely reserved so what i mean by

4839s um when you're looking at all of our
4841s weaponry here

4845s you to be able to have a legendary pulse
4847s laser and it basically just adds another
4849s modifier to the mix right
4851s legendaries the intent of legendaries is
4853s to make them super unique items that are
4856s hotly sought after
4857s so when you get a legendary there'll be
4859s a unique modifier on it just straight up
4861s attached to it that defines it apart
4864s from its other similar weapon types
4867s if you had a legendary pulse laser
4871s instead of it just firing you know the
4873s same way
4874s with the same attributes here there's
4876s going to be a twist and that's how each
4878s of our legendary weapons and other items
4882s will be implemented at that time

4889s coordinated effort of your place testing
4891s experience to balance out a lot of these

6125s at this time but some of them are as
6127s simple as enemies drop a bunch of
6130s credits upon death or
6132s um
6134s gmb
6135s is in the area and they will assist you
6137s and we're talking like
6139s like seven to ten gmb fighters are also
6142s present in the area and it's like a
6143s full-on battle between two warring
6146s factions um you know we we have uh man
6150s shoot what goodness gravy let me just uh

6154s what else i just wanna shoot i'll just
6156s read through what we have currently um
6159s even though again this is all subject to
6161s change
6162s but i love you guys so here's the drop

6166s enemies drop mines when destroyed

6170s time consumables cannot be used enemies
6173s have 50 increased movement speed a
6175s random item is overheated for 10 seconds
6176s every 10 seconds enemies are randomly

6181s completely immune to emp there are two
6184s bosses that spawn enemies leave behind
6186s corrosion fields when killed gmp forces
6189s are on site that's a positive one um the
6191s alt cannot be used that one's probably
6193s gonna get changed in some way shape or
6194s form just to guess but still it's there
6196s for the moment enemy type names are
6198s hidden uh that's also probably gonna get
6200s some adjustments
6201s every time an enemy is destroyed all
6203s other enemies are repaired by ten
6205s percent of their maximum hole hit points
6206s that was actually changed to twenty
6208s percent uh every time an enemy is
6210s destroyed all other enemies present
6211s gained five percent speed shields armor
6213s and hole and then enemies drops lots of
6215s credits upon death so there was only
6217s actually like three modifiers in there
6219s that are actually good so maybe that was
6221s a bad example in this moment but i know
6223s that we are working on more mutators
6225s right we're working on more that's the
6227s important thing to note uh because we
6229s want to have a lot of fun with these
6230s areas
6231s and
6232s we want you to have that fun as well
6234s so hopefully there will be some really
6237s cool opportunities as those uh are
6239s generated as you're going through and
6241s exploring these
6242s uh yeah
6246s that's lots enemies one shot you
