411s tweaking improving um and uh yeah so
415s first things first i'm going to just
417s open up our inventory uh page here and
421s maybe some of you might think that your
423s eyes are like wait a second what's going
424s on uh the color looks a little bit off
426s maybe uh no we are we tweaked some
428s colors a little bit
430s so this superior coloration
432s uh has gone from a magenta to a slightly
436s less
437s magenta i don't know how to better word
439s that but that's because we are doing a
441s couple of tweaks and things to
443s the
444s making red as a standout color
447s um so as i'm showing you here these
449s signal decoders um these are what
451s generates a number of different things
454s there can be positive and negative
456s traits associated with these and so we
458s have done this now uh
461s as with everything that i ever show
464s during the course of these streams this
467s is not
468s final there could still be some little
470s adjustments and tweaks i'm sure some of
472s you out there are looking at that and
474s you're looking at the red and you're
475s going ah what ah there's there's a bit
478s of a strain there yes we are aware um
481s this was just plugged in so you can have
482s a very clear indicator of what's a
484s positive what's a negative since they
487s can be entirely random in these high
489s risk areas
490s so
491s to that i think it's always important to
493s note
494s that high risk areas
497s these are obviously these are entirely
499s optional you don't have to do these
501s you can choose to do them you can get
503s some really solid mutators you're like
504s oh man i love that challenge let's do it
506s you get some mutators that you don't
507s really like you sell it uh there could
509s be opportunities there like wealthy foes
511s enemies drop lots of credits upon death
514s um it's all kind of a mixed bag on this
516s front and we're not done with the
519s balance of this either
521s so as we show these as we talk about
524s these know that there could be some that
526s you see here present but are completely
528s removed from the pool there could be
530s entirely no there are actually a lot
532s more that we're adding um so yeah
535s definitely understand that this is not
537s meant to be like the be-all end-all
540s challenge mode of ever space 2 this is
542s not the end-game content this is just
544s one means to challenge yourself if you
546s want to do that to get loot in a unique
548s way from the standard you know job
550s boards or progression of the game stuff
552s like that
554s and uh also note that it's simply not
556s done
557s uh in fact we haven't even had an
559s internal
560s team discussion yet
563s about these mutators that we've been
564s adding haven't even has even gone to
566s that i've shown you guys the stuff
567s before our team's even been able to
570s evaluate
573s it's great it's a lot of fun um
576s but yeah so just keep that in mind
578s then uh let's see what else what else we
580s were gonna do
581s well let's just go ahead and activate
582s some of these
584s so we have this first one uh the signal
586s decoder explosive death enemies drop
589s mines when destroyed enemy region
591s enemies slowly repair their hole and
592s double trouble to bosses
594s so activate that
595s this next one we've got explosive death
597s enemies drop mines when destroyed heal
600s on kill every time an enemy is destroyed
601s all other enemies present are repaired
603s by twenty percent of their maximum whole
605s hit points and wealthy those enemies
606s dropped lots of credits upon death
609s we got this one over level this is
610s probably my favorite modifier actually
612s because it just it really does ramp up
615s that challenge level because it's bound
617s to other sort of elements so we have the
620s over leveled one to three levels higher
621s heal on kill
623s self-explanatory strength and death they
625s get faster and they gain more max
628s shields armor and whole um as you uh
632s keep progress this is gonna be this
633s might be a tricky one
635s and then finally we got this one which
637s has a restriction on it
639s no emp enemies are resistant to emp so i
642s can't can't use that uh method to chain
645s things together so i gotta think outside
646s the box when i approach this one a
648s little bit more jarred sensors enemy
650s type names are hidden and heal on kill
652s again
653s that one and like i said um while i'm
656s showing you guys these list of mutators
659s uh again please recognize
662s that there are more editions coming so
664s if you see and you're already seeing
666s like um some of these are generating on
668s multiple ones yeah it's because like
670s sincerely let me just i'm going to pull
672s this out because i want you guys to know
674s like just where we're kind of at
676s uh with these things let me see
680s now i'm not going to tell you what they
681s all are because again this is work in
682s progress stuff but just to give you guys
684s kind of like a little bit of the insight

741s also you know just being a fun new way
744s to collect loot maybe you'll find
745s something that completely stumps you and
747s you alter your play style and you find a
748s new direction to take your build
752s or maybe you find restrictions that are
754s incredibly frustrating and you hate
756s everything about it and you
758s go to the forums and say hey this needs
759s to be fixed because it's not fun
760s straight up
762s hopefully we don't have any of those
763s that exist when this goes live in the
765s summer update but you know such is the
769s state of our mutators all right
772s do the mutators apply to the boss as
774s well
776s shoot man i actually don't know
781s i legitimately don't know oh gosh i feel
785s like that should be embarrassing but at
786s the same time like we've just started
788s plugging this all in man um
791s um
792s i'm assuming you're talking about like
794s especially the ones where like health
795s regenerates if you're like killing uh
797s other scrubs and stuff like you kill
799s basically five enemies while the boss is
800s live that means the boss goes back up to
802s full health uh with heal on kill
805s so
806s uh yeah i mean
807s definitely we'll iron out those details
809s because we again we want it to be fun
811s but we also wanted to be a challenging
813s style of fun if it breaks the game and
816s you're not having fun whatsoever
819s we'll revisit it okay so we got these
820s four high risk areas um i think what
823s we're going to start with let's go ahead
825s and go with wealthy foes now we'll save
827s that just in case we get our butts
828s kicked on the first one
831s let's do this one this one's gonna be a
832s little bit tricky uh so no emp that
835s means we can prepare ourselves a little
836s bit more accordingly here
840s uh we could do energize boost
843s uh yeah that feels good so we can still
845s use annihilator virus
848s i don't think we're doing anything that
850s does emp blasting no we don't
853s so yeah i think i think this will work
855s pretty nicely
860s uh oh and we could straight up disable
862s the shield for two seconds with each hit
864s from these rockets granted uh their
865s rockets
868s but uh i digress

872s we'll go ahead and go with that with our
874s little vanguard here
877s and after we do one or so we'll we'll

908s to be clear i'd like them to apply to
909s the boss i'm a bit of a masochist no

913s it's granting that

916s difficulty that feels good that feels
919s right uh we don't want anything that's
922s so deep that it's cruel um in fact we
925s even have been having a discussion on
927s the side again it hasn't been thoroughly
929s discussed yet uh internally at rockfish
932s but we've even had a discussion on the
933s side of like what things may or may not
935s feel good or what's actually proper game
938s uh design uh you know like stuff like
941s that like this is stuff we want to iron
942s out absolutely so rest assured we will
944s get those details um and present
947s challenges that are challenging but also
950s fun
951s because of how you're able to overcome
953s them through
955s different means or
956s clever means you know stuff like that
958s all right so now we're here um also note
961s that in the upper left we have the high
963s risk area telling us straight up what
965s qualities wow that guy that punk hit us
967s we have no emp we have jar sensors and
970s we have heal on kill
971s so while it doesn't list out all of the
973s details of what we know these do
976s it does still in fact uh it does still
979s in fact show us what's happening also

984s that is completely bugged

989s tweaking them this was working a moment
991s ago
992s not sure why the music's uh suddenly
994s decided to fail well but

1108s high risk areas again they're not the
1110s end game they're not what you're going
1112s to be doing once everything else is done
1114s they can be it can be one route you
1117s choose but again the ancient rifts that
1119s we have alluded to that you'll find out
1121s more information this

1125s uh that's gonna be the meat of the end
1127s game so uh yeah we
1129s fun mutators yeah absolutely could
1131s appear i know some of you are saying
1132s like retro mutator from grindel um yeah
1135s i think that it's really cool to think
1137s about the um
1140s hardcore mode of everspace one and kind
1143s of like envision that sort of style when
1146s you're thinking about those high-risk
1147s area that would be i think that's a
1149s i think that's a pretty good way to to
1151s think about it

1163s right we are having ourselves
1167s no trouble at all here with our
1169s overshield
1170s i call it overshield basically i have
1172s more shield than what i'm supposed to be
1173s allowed uh
1175s vanguard's really successful with that
1178s and i'm also able to continue charging
1181s it through a number of
1182s uh
1183s abilities that i've got going on
1186s so even when i'm taking damage my shield
1188s is charging
1204s try and get this weaker one out of the
1205s way before the well actually we should
1207s let the virus pop all at the same time
1210s to get multiple kills yeah so they don't
1211s heal
1225s oh my gosh there's a sneak peek at
1227s something else that's uh that's new
1231s i have to explain that one here really
1233s quick i got some splaining to do if
1236s anybody saw that purple orb that i just
1238s picked up
1254s oh man i think i think a lot of these
1256s drones are actually from that drone
1257s carrier i need to address him

1272s purple orb is the new in-game air

1276s how do you guys find out about these

1286s types now uh the purple ones are more
1289s rare
1291s and they do a little bit of something
1292s different than the standard energy orbs
1294s which are receiving a little bit of a
1297s tweak
1298s now we see oh my gosh
1301s wow that damage was so sudden
1305s this is why you don't talk and drive or
1308s something my gosh all right so so let's
1310s uh let's just back out of that one let's
1312s back out of that one
1314s and uh let's just talk about this energy
1316s orb for a second since it's on the top
1318s of everyone's mind
1319s um so let's go over to our perks we've
1322s got delia
1324s what i i completely forgot that we
1326s adjusted this now it's not this is also
1328s not fun i'm gonna say that with every
1329s single thing guys work in progress you
1330s know all right uh but basically there's
1333s a couple of changes here
1334s a couple of changes here this also
1336s hasn't been fully fleshed out and tested
1338s yet in fact marco's been on holiday so
1340s he hasn't even been able to like polish
1342s uh how the rare orbs look um so anyway
1347s i'm kind of getting like woo anyway so
1350s two big things have happened here for
1351s delia the big thing is that the last
1355s one has
1356s completely changed
1358s before you guys may have remembered
1360s getting like this huge boost to your
1362s energy um
1364s uh that one's gone
1365s that one's gone so you know like
1367s infinite energy sort of trick that you
1368s could grab like in the fray and all of a
1370s sudden you could just boost infinitely
1372s and fire infinitely we felt like that
1374s was actually disrupting the balance of
1376s the game as opposed to making the player
1379s feel super powerful so that has been
1382s completely altered and instead now
1384s you'll see the fourth one down
1387s destroying ships especially elites will
1389s sometimes set free a rare orb that
1391s grants a little more weapons and boost
1394s energy than the standard one
1396s and you also gain a 20 increase to your
1399s handling
1400s for 10 seconds so you have more control
1402s over your ship when you pick up these
1404s rare purple orbs
1407s gives you like it allows you to move on
1409s the fly in that moment when you pick it
1411s up uh instead of giving you unlimited uh
1413s supply of energy
1415s energy orbs will also move towards from
1417s a greater distance that's the same and
1418s then the last one is the rare orbs will
1420s also charge the strip alt so that is
1421s exclusive to the rare orbs
1424s so charging your alt via energy orbs
1427s requires you destroying elite style
1429s enemies or a very rare chance from a
1432s standard enemy
1434s okay so just uh
1436s yeah just again this is kind of like a
1438s balanced sort of pass addressing energy
1441s orbs they've kind of
1442s been
1443s interesting for a while and we fight the
1445s need now is the time so there you go
1449s there you go the lack of music

1452s is actually what happened

1660s actually making stuff way too easy and a
1663s bit unfun honestly so he doesn't jump
1666s into high-risk areas specifically

4990s do it can dish out some serious damage

4997s other aoe effects from devices right um

5008s virus is a little less area of effect
