[2019] n00b question no upvotes pls

Hi all. My wife and I just started playing the game and we're going through the campaign together. We're playing on 17.35 or 36 - whatever the most recent patch is.

Anyway, we seem to have hit a snag. The campaign is asking us to have a production of at least 12 science packs per minute. We have 5 assembly plants going at full-tilt producing science packs (they're all either powering labs or flowing into a chest at the end of the line to keep production going). And it still says 0/12. At around 5 seconds per pack, 5 factories are producing around 60 per minute. So what gives? Why is the campaign not giving us credit?
