Hey all! With Factorio v1.0 coming out soon I wanted to put on some polishing touches on the Factorio Cheat Sheet website In this post I have an update summary since the last update post, a contest/competition, and an anonymous poll.
Out with the old, in with the new
So here is a summary of changes:
- Balancer section reworked
- Links section reworked
- Added search and data for train colors
- Mining productivity input to change the table
- Navigation is sticky on large screens
- Screenshots/animations updates with latest graphics
- Update data
- Media optimization
- General code cleanup/updates
Section Arrangement (Google Forms Poll)
Right now the sections are more in line with linear game progression: from putting down belts, starting mining and material processing ending with late game beacons/modules and extra tips/guides.
The cheat sheet is a bit more aimed for new players, but seasoned players, myself included, still come back for reference. Personally I still use the common ratios, oil, power and train color sections and links (calculators/blueprints) on every map I start.

- Which sections do you use the most/least?
- Should the top voted sections be presented first or should the flow be more linear or something else?

New Banner (Factory Design Competition!)
There have been so many changes since the screenshot that is used for the banner, i think its time for a refresh.
I would like to keep the overall feel of the banner the same but update it with the latest graphics, I was in the middle of designing a new factory but it was coming out perhaps too OCD. So i am putting out a bit of a competition in designing a new design factory for the banner!
Requirements:
- Keep the feel of the original
- Latest Factorio version (Vanilla only, but feel free to use creative mods to make it)
- Evening time, lighted rocket launch pad with the rocket blasting off in the center (I will vignette and crop after)
- Logical factory logistics (as apposed to illogical items/buildings etc?) maybe discuss on this?
- Show off general game mechanics (Ex: belts, bots, trains, machines, power, military, biters, etc.. Not all need to be in tho.)
- Busy looking factory
- Takes screenshots as follows:
- Find the center of the Rocket Silo
- Open F4 menu
- Enable grid
- Enable "show-detailed-info"
- Hover mouse over center of silo and note the Cursor position

- Take the Screenshot
- Open console with
~ Key
- Enter god mode (no character) with
