Normally I don't have a problem with biters on my normal maps but I've been doing a ribbon world of late and had a hell of a time finding oil. It was WAY further out from start that I expected and I had to slog through multiple large biter nests that went full height of the ribbon to get to oil.

Normally I don't even bother with biters until I get a tank and explosive rounds outside of basic defence.

I'm sitting here with a submachine gun, car, grenades, AP ammo, and regular turrets. I hit a wall with research and having to take out these biter bases with crappy weapons dealing with medium worms kicking my ass while the bases rapidly produce new biters at alarming rates.

I'd really like to see two changes to make this slog a bit more balanced.

There's a hole in weaponry prior to the rocket launcher / tank. I'd like to see a Grenade Launcher - New Weapon / Ammo - Longer Range to a thrown grenade, but either less overall damage or smaller AOE - I'd like to see grenade turrets as well with ranges at least equal to the medium worms, but preferably a bit longer. There's a steep ramp between pre/post-blue science when it comes to firepower that I think needs to be smoothed a bit.

Also, watching the biters reproduce indefinitely without having to consume resources is a bit annoying. I'd like to see resource piles that the player can't use, but the biters desire and need to reproduce and expand. If the player can block the biters from getting resources, the bases should die out. I should be able to directly attack the biters OR block them from resources in the same way they attack me OR block me from the resources I want.
