Wanted to expand my shield defense and these two players entered the mission. After the 1st wave they insisted that I trade with them otherwise they will start destroying my structures so I fail the mission.

One person stayed in the lobby, probably to re-invite the other person that started shooting rockets to destroy all structures in sight.

Even though it was my lobby and I reported them, I couldn't kick them or stop them from reinviting and continuing the chaos.

This is the reason why STW is unpopular. This is why players are quitting the game. You have no agency over the success of a mission and just have to trust that others will not actively sabotage it. The community is so toxic nowadays that you almost have to do everything solo.

Quite disappointing.

tag him once more he might have muted me or blocked me

his communication manager

and this issue has been here for long time and thousands of players have gone thru it

i see few white knights trying to defend but this is the true fortnite experience unless you use discord groups or other social media sources which does not and should not count as good experience

There is no reason to block or mute you but I really dont understand the need to tag me nearly a dozen times for the same thread. A thread that came up over the weekend and not during the normal work week/hours nonetheless. If I missed this during the normal week and I was tagged on Monday and its a week later I can see why.

Getting back to the point and the post in question around toxic players, once I saw the first tag and opened this post up today, I already commented in our team Slack channel with the STW raising this thread as a point aggravation among the players.

If the team is able to fix or alleviate the issue and feels comfortable with me sharing that info, I will do so. But in the mean time, all I can suggest is to try to keep your lobbies on private and find players in the community Discord or other places that will help with the objectives.

One aspect of the story that might go overlooked: the griefer stayed in the party to invite a friend back to continue griefing.

This is a new problem that was introduced by the changes to party privacy a few releases ago, I believe - anyone in the party can invite players to join, whether or not they're friends with the party leader. IIRC, before that change, "invite only" meant the leader had to invite people to join.

The way it works now, it's a lot riskier to play with people you don't know well than it should be, because they can invite anyone they know.

This is great feedback and the way you've explained it makes a lot of sense, so thanks for that.
