Thanks for tagging me, passing this along to QA team to take a look and confirm the issue. Is it crashing everytime or is this a 25%-50% crash rate?
Just to confirm our team is aware of the issue and currently investigating the cause. This issue seems to affect PS4 and Switch players the most. To keep updated on the issue I put a trello card up https://trello.com/c/16x3bCSU/1441-silver-surfers-board
Time to pretend it doesn't exist, like Epic does with Fortnite on Switch. Unless it's broken on other platforms, we're shit out of luck. Tagging u/FreighttrainUSA just in case though.

My brother is having is having issues with controllers not responding properly and the prompts being out of place.
What device is he on and what type of controller is he trying to use? Could you also have him report it in-game under feedback?

What if I play Fortnite on Apple devices or Android?
If you already downloaded Fortnite via the App Store, you should have no issues continuing to play Chapter 2 - Season 3’s v13.40 update — whether you’re only playing on mobile devices or also playing the latest version of Fortnite on other devices. Note: The Season 3 Battle Pass has ended and further progression will not be possible on any platform.
