Dear Survivors,

Recently in the community, there have been talks of reducing the amount of link posts that we see on this sub. The moderation team has been taking this into consideration, but first we would like to officially ask you, the community, what you would prefer.

Currently, the rules state that community members are allowed to promote YouTube videos so long as they are linking videos themselves and not just blatantly posting a channel and asking for subs. In short, we value engaging content. Recently, however, a lot of these posts have been showing up and have overwhelmed the sub.

The proposed alternative:

If enough of the community agrees, we would implement the following change to the rules: content links will no longer be permitted as stand-alone posts. Community members would still be allowed to self-promote by uploading videos. The intention of this is to remove a lot of low-effort posts while also letting the community share videos of their gameplay that they like.

Furthermore, every Saturday we would create an automated Self-Promote thread where people are free to promote their most recent videos, channels or streams. This post could be changed accordingly to fit the community's needs.
