Mine seems to have a bug. The engineer won’t follow me out. He followed me about halfway out of the underground lair, but now he’s just standing in a hallway and won’t leave. I’ve killed all the Unidad, and have pressed X to stop leading, and then again to lead like 6 times, and he just won’t budge. I tried leaving the area thinking he might reappear like when your team will magically appear in a vehicle if you take off without them, but that’s not working either.
If you log out and log back in does he still not follow?
The redeemable reward from the Ubisoft Club is the Major Cole D. Walker costume and not an icon. You will get his clothing/body but not his face. We wanted to make sure you will be able to equip for both male and female Nomad. We're sorry for the confusion, we edited the patch notes and the highlight articles accordingly.

Okay so its a character Icon will a locked clothing set, not a face preset like said previously? The guy before asked to have his face. Not his full icon body. And you said yes.
That's my apologies, I thought I included the icon word! But it is a character icon. I just edited it to specify. I'm going to pass along the interest and feedback about using the face to the dev team!

So how does this work? Is it just a mission or is it something I'm gonna have to pay extra for?
This is a free update for all current players in Wildlands. And if you don't own the game there will be a free weekend in a few days for non-owners to get their hands on it as well.
