In light of the ongoing global health risks associated with in-person gatherings, we are cancelling official Fireside Gatherings for the near future and disabling the ability to create public events. Additionally, any existing public events will be converted to private events.

We do, however, want individuals at home to have an opportunity to partake in the upcoming Pre-Release weekend, so we’ll be keeping private event functionality intact. Players can register their own one-person event to enjoy opening Ashes of Outland card packs the weekend of April 3–6.

Over the next week we’ll be implementing this transition of currently scheduled events to private status. Thank you all, innkeepers and patrons, for understanding.

UPDATE: For the overall safety and well-being of our staff and casters, and in alignment with California’s statewide ‘stay at home’ order, we are canceling the broadcast portion of Masters Tour Los Angeles. Matches will still take place online as previously scheduled. It’s been a little while since our last Arena leaderboard update, and we know it’s been missed in the community. Moving forward, we’re planning to publish a bimonthly Arena leaderboard update so you can keep tabs on all the top players.   

Below are the Arena leaderboards for December 11, 2019 – February 26, 2020. Arena rankings reflect players’ best 30 consecutive runs throughout a season. The players featured below have exhibited top-notch deckbuilding skills, in-the-moment decision making, and unyielding dedication to achieve a most noteworthy feat! 

Dynamic ladder rankings are now also available for the Standard and Wild ladders.

Upon further review of the coronavirus situation given the broad international nature of our event, with invitees from more than 40 different countries, we have made the decision to hold Masters Tour Los Angeles entirely online. After initially relocating from Indonesia, we were excited to host the Masters Tour in Los Angeles, but the safety and well-being of our community will always take precedence over hosting a live event.

Adjusting travel plans can be a difficult ask, so we will be providing up to $1,500 in reimbursement for non-refundable travel arrangements to all qualified competitors who have already booked their travel to Los Angeles. All invited players will receive an email no later than March 12 with details on required proof of documentation in order to receive travel reimbursement. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and patience in the meantime.

There are some one-of-a-kind minds on the Hearthstone dev team. These are the folks who spent hours arguing about the number of holes in a straw, came up with a Battlecry that reads "wish for the perfect card", and orchestrated a rambunctious pep rally, complete with banners and gladiatorial chants, for their favorite Rastakhan’s Rumble teams.

Over the years the devs have come up with multitudinous ways to shenaniganize the tavern, and many of their concoctions are now only playable in Wild. Just in time for the Wild Bundle, we asked a selection of Hearthstone developers for their favorite card outside Standard—but like the Choose One keyword, sometimes it’s difficult to pick just one.

We decided to make this move to protect the health and safety of our players, staff and everyone involved with the Masters Tour. Our heroes and villains had competing ambitions at Wyrmrest Temple in our last episode. Arch-villain Rafaam and his League of E.V.I.L. sought ancient knowledge at the temple to progress their ultimate plan: the resurrection of Galakrond! Meanwhile, the League of Explorers allied themselves with the dragonflights, giving them a fighting chance for the aerial assault ahead.

League of E.V.I.L. Chapter: Air Battle Over Dragonblight

Victory is at hand. Rafaam now has everything he needs to bring about the resurrection of Galakrond, and the League of E.V.I.L. must defend the skies over Dragonblight to keep the League of Explorers from meddling in his plans. When we last left our heroes and villains, The Battle of the Frozen Coast brought the two leagues into battle on the shores of Northrend, leading to the capture of Reno Jackson and pandemonium at the hands of Lazul and Kriziki. Now the battle moves to Wyrmrest Temple, where the stakes are high for good and evil alike.

The next phase of Arch-Villain Rafaam's scheme opens on Togwaggle, who enters the temple to seek forbidden knowledge and find the remains of Galakrond. But the League of Explorers and their allies won't let this happen without a fight.

The first Masters Tour of 2020 will take place at Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, Texas from January 31-February 2! For the approximately 360 invited players there will be $250,000 in base prizing on the line, with additional prizing from the new Dragon Masters Bundle crowdfunding initiative divided between the six tournaments in accordance with the tournament rules.
