No there is not, and I don't think I said that there might be one.

Just a question: how difficult would it be, design and implementation-wise, to add cards and scenarios like Flare? Maybe not to recognize the kind of secrets the opponent has, but just the multitude of them, and Zephrys recognizing the value in that spot? Genuinely curious

I have gotten flare before I am pretty sure, I would certainly expect it against multiple secrets. Let me know if you aren't seeing it and anything else weird.

By the way we made a couple small hot fixes to Zephrys today including changing when you get weapon destruction (Harrison) to be more accurate and Silences/Mass Dispel will appear at the right time more often.

This is amazing art!

And I too can't wait for tomorrow, I have so many decks I want to try and keep changing my mind on which one to try first.

That wasn't a quote from me, that was a creative extrapolation of something I said. There is nothing like that in this set :/

This is a great explanation. We talked about making a keyword for untargettable by some things. Maybe hero powers, spells, battlecries too perhaps? Maybe 2 of the three. It was close and we may one day do it if we have a lot of designs that we think fall into that category. As it is we release very few minions that are hard to target so it isn't worth a keyword yet.

One of the things we consider with the name is if you would expect to be able to attack it with minions. Elusive sounds like other minions would not be able to attack it. In fact many of the name ideas had that in common. It also sounds like a hero with a weapon might not be able to attack it.

Your suggestion of Warded would work quite well in communicating that spells don't work on it but weapons and minions can attack it.

A version of this that we tried out 4 or 5 years ago was blocking the first spell/battlecry that targets it but then the ward is gone. Very similar to divine shield. Spellshie...

Congratulations! You solved it a lot faster than I expected!

Our sound and effects team worked hard to get that special event in at the last minute. As far as I know it is the only one.

edit: spelling.

This wasn't an intentional change, I will look into it. Thanks for the post.

So, from what's been said:

  • You only get Basic and Classic cards from all classes.
  • Basically, cards are put into various categories (Value, Tempo, AoE, Card Draw, etc.) and the effect chooses the most appropriate categories for the current game state, and then you get to choose a good card from one of the categories.
  • It's possible that the cards you get are all from the same category, depending on the game state.
  • It tries to give you something you can play this turn (with the mana you still have).
  • If not possible, it gives you something you can play next turn.
  • You don't really get any bad or uninteresting cards.
  • Peter Whalen said that you will be offered a Crazed Alchemist if there is a Doomsayer on your opponent's board, so the effect can get very specific in the answers offered.
  • Other things you are offered: AoE if your opponent's board is full. Single target removal if your opp...

It made me want to add brewmaster to my deck so I could play it again!

Especially against murlocs so I could Hungry Crab them twice in a row :)

Not gonna lie - this either implies the name of the card is abbreviated to NGL, or that the card is something in the flavor of “thou shalt not lie,” likely for paladin or priest.

I am always excited for his reveals - this either means Mike is excited for the card in question, or that the class it’s for is always excited. How do we express excitement in HS? By emoting. The recent event added the Summer Fire Festival emotes, and who is “Looking forward to the fireworks?” (i.e. excited for them. Also, note the exclamation mark, another clear sign of excitement). Anduin, of course! What other class has the class strength of emoting? Also, he says he’s excited ‘for’ his reveals... for —> four. The number 4 is somehow significant to this card.

My prediction; we will be getting the Priest quest:

Requirement: Use your hero power 4 times.

Reward: Wow!

Wow!: Passive hero power, your emotes restore 2 health to your hero.

Mostly correct - except Wow! was a call back to the original thread this is in. He is famous for his Wow!

Hey Mike my man, my friend Anduin feels a bit sad about his evergreen set, could you buff Shadowform and Holy Fire a bit? I'm sure that would cheer him up.

Wow!

Seriously though pretty reasonable ask.

Wins with a deck is the number of wins you personally had with the deck, plus the number that the previous owner was at when you lost to him.

This tavern brawl has been amazing, everyone is playing a ton. The Tavern Brawl team really did a great job on it and I am sure there will be more similar ones based on all the positive feedback we got.

The number after the deck is based on time passed between the brawl launch and the time the deck was first created.

So Fishy 1 was made right at the time the brawl went live.

The decks are pseudo random based on algorithms to give you spells and minions and a theme and a mana curve.
