@TilFolkvang i apologize if thats not what you meant but i have a chip on my shoulder about ppl assuming evil suits everywhere. Big complex games are hard as you say tho and tiny changes can easily do big unforseen stuff. Had a hoi release go from unplayable to fine by changing a 0.9 to 0.3
@TilFolkvang “Wish you had been given more time” kinda sounds like the evil exec/publisher vs devs stuff that people love to repeat, and it bugs me every time because at PDS the dev teams decide when stuff releases and are the main stakeholders.
@wowzahehe > I think your tweet makes you come across insecure I think you proved one of my point for me.
To go back to my original post. A woodworking subreddit isnt going to be an echochamber. You will have people arguing for the merit of methods and tools in a (mostly) constructive way
@wowzahehe I dont think tweets are particularly good for that kind of discourse. Have you seen anyone ever be convinced of a different PoV on twitter rather than just ending up hurling insults? Proper articles or face to face is better for that.
@Arheo_ @AbraxxusTV @aknox92 We will see. its definitly too much for the average person to spend monthly even if it comes with convenience. I would have tried to find some other middle ground because its really good if users could become customers rather than product.
@Dsingis yeah it got a lot better when I started blocking buzzwords from american politics :D
which probably means that I should never engage on non-paradox game topics probably
hot take: open social media will always suck. The only good kind of social media I have experienced is where its already filtered you down to a group with shared interests and other topics are kept out. Like a reddit on woodcrafting
@Arheo_ @AbraxxusTV @aknox92 at least I cant pay EVEN MORE to show up more, like the old system presumably had.
@Arheo_ @AbraxxusTV @aknox92 but that doesnt really solve the issue of promoting ppl with money. and i assume it costs to do verifications now and twitter seems to be a bloated inefficiency fest as it is
@Arheo_ @AbraxxusTV @aknox92 I guess the point is that if the system relies on "twitters moderators like you", its always gonna be open to corruption. An alternative would be to split the checks up between verification/promotion etc
@Arheo_ @aknox92 Granted you will likely need to be more aggressive at down-prioing spread of non-verified stuff if its gonna hit bots/spammers. Suggested stuff is usually from blueticks now anyways, and often not interesting to me over people I actually follow so seems overdramatized
@Arheo_ @aknox92 He is saying that that verified users get prioritized in searches and presumably promotions, much like it is now? The algorithm uses a lot to decide what I see already. Will it improve now? No idea, but ppl need to chill and see.
@Arheo_ @aknox92 this doesnt seem like a very good idea as comparison
@Arheo_ @aknox92 isnt that just the same as before but now its possible for anyone to buy it? i refuse to believe the average persons experience will change much as those are the ad targets etc
@fabsanke spanish/portugese time is best
@TheRealTommyKay @WarComTeam I kinda like Deliverance Lost, but its 50% an alpha legion book
We're so sorry. This is cursed. Happy late halloweeb?
