Tldr: played for four hour. Combat felt boring. Skills looked great felt boring. Therefore didnt feel inclined to go later game cause no promise of improvement in combat feel. Has this changed/doesit/when does it get better

On paper the game ins fantastic. Its got everything i love in an ARPG from skill tree to inventory micro management. Plus an enormous of just straight up game to go around with what seems to be a lot of ways to play it. I tried the game on release day and two things stood out to me. One, global chat needs more moderators. Two, the combat system is/was hot steaming ass. I refunded the game after hitting the steam time limit, actually pushed it to four hours and it just wasnt fun. All of my abilities looked and sounded sick, but they felt meek. I was playing a paladin the one that throws hammers, and it looked awesome and the rp felt awesome, but the game just felt bland to actually play. Wondering this has changed?

We're constantly doing work to improve combat feel including animation, sound, death effect improvements, etc. If you haven't played in a patch there are definitely improvements in many places. But even just today we're going through and doing a ton of updates to Imperial enemies - mostly animation based, we just made earthquake more visible in dark zones, reducing visual noise of Siege Golems, etc.

It's just a continuous improvement loop!
