412s can i can just spam potions and it's a
415s little safer for sure

423s uh marina's lost soul

426s caster weapon uh but you are damned and
428s you cast a spell reduced health
430s increased effect of possessed inflicted
433s by hungering souls per stack of dent on
434s you which is nothing um

439s cause i didn't use it
443s stolen the bill

451s oh nothing like that i was just curious
453s about whether le will also be available
454s playable on mac systems but we used to
457s have a mac client

460s and it was it was causing us a lot of
462s problems to keep up with multiple
465s release platforms simultaneously we just
467s didn't have the pipeline for it um
470s and so we we dropped the mac client a
472s while ago
474s quite a while ago actually um thank you

517s as far as being available on mac systems

526s play it on mac um i'm not exactly sure
528s how they're doing it i can't remember

532s mac if you a little bit of a roundabout
535s way but we don't have a mac specific

541s struggling a bit with getting resists
543s etc up compared to other apgs but i'm
545s sure it's my own ignorance is a rule of
547s thumb with missing or keeping going
548s uh you get it eventually well um there's
552s one thing i will say if you're new you
553s may not be if you're like a an rpg
555s veteran or just play them before um you
558s may be putting a little bit too much
559s weight on resistances they are very
561s important to have for sure
564s um but in most arpg's um
568s if you have say you're going to take 100
570s damage and you have 75 resistance you're
573s going to take 25 damage instead but then
576s say you have 50 resistance instead
578s you're taking 50 damage instead so that
580s last 25 percent of resistance between 75
582s and 50 actually
584s halves the damage you take from that
586s element um as it says in the tooltip
588s here enemies get one percent penetration
590s resistance per level up to level 75. so
592s at level 75 and above they have 75
594s penetration built into it this is not
596s something you can overcome at all it's
597s just inherent to it um
599s so effectively you have zero resistance
601s at level 75 plus if you have cap
604s resistances so
606s each one percent of resistance actually
607s only deals one percent more damage
609s instead of
610s way more so it's um the last percentages
613s of your resistance are not as they're
615s not more important than the first
616s percentages of your resistance um so
619s it's still very good to have and still
620s very useful to have but it's not
622s as mandatory as um
625s in in like diablo 2 for example
628s or grim dawn group john was a
629s there was a lot of resistances you
631s needed in grim dawn
633s to um
634s to just
635s you know
636s survive

643s first unique here what's that wardrobe

653s one thing i like this build does is it
654s takes in reperform it takes the node
657s that splits reap
658s off as a movement skill from transplant
661s because we're not using reap as a
662s primary damage source but we are using
664s it as an as a separate um movement
667s movement ability
669s so it splits their cooldowns off which i
671s really i really enjoy

709s taking saves uh and thinking saves were
711s on our servers yeah they are not uh
713s thinking that due to logging in
715s something of the game yeah saves are all

745s we don't plan on okay so first off i
747s wouldn't say double 2 has mod support
749s i think there's a few people that have
750s worked extremely hard to ram mods down
754s the throat of diablo 2 and have done a
757s phenomenal job of it

760s but mod support might be a little
762s generous to what's there

768s i i do think that mods are a great way
770s for
771s um communities to like extend the life
773s of a game and to to keep exploring
776s what's possible in inside of a framework
778s and an engine and and all those sorts of

782s i love i love the ability to mod a game
784s i play i play a lot of um civ 6
787s if i'm just like want to relax and chill
789s out and i i play six with
791s dozens of mods on it

799s that game has mod support for sure

804s we don't really plan on having
806s at least initially primary mod support
808s where we're like actively planning
810s specific things to say like okay this is
813s how we're going to support modders in
815s our community it's instead it is um
820s we're not going to do anything to
821s intentionally obstruct it

826s if we take an action that does obstruct
827s it it's for a specific other reason and
830s unfortunately modding is a casualty of
832s that but not as a

835s like we're not working against modding
837s but we're not gonna unfortunately do
838s anything to help it at first any either

845s really it's just not a high enough
846s priority thing for us to do
850s um because we gotta work on the on the
851s initial game first

1031s resistances are i mean that's not the
1034s intent behind it specifically no but

1037s um yeah it is a simplified version
1039s has pretty intense resistance

1043s there's a lot there
1070s this is one thing that i'm not a huge
1073s lp on that a huge fan of uh builds like
1075s this is the um the health bar constantly
1078s being like pretty low it just always
1080s makes me so nervous i know it's like a
1082s free health bar and there's another one
1083s underneath i'm just like
1086s i'm almost dead i'm almost dead all the
1088s time
1089s it's a really fun build there's a lot
1090s going on there's um a lot of active
1093s buttons to press and i really like that
1094s in a build
1096s like i'm using basically every key i
1098s have
1099s big fan
1100s uh when will there be some sort of patch
1102s where the game runs on lower spec
1103s systems i've been reading a lot about
1105s people having best cpu gpus and they run
1108s too hot yeah so
1110s um
1112s for example right now i'm running on
1114s frame rates they're smooth enough that i
1115s have no issues whatsoever while
1117s streaming on a four-year-old i7 and a
1120s gtx 1080 ti
1123s so it's like a decent system and it was
1125s a really good system four years ago um
1130s it's it it is
1132s not overly consistent with the uh the
1135s problems we have there are some settings
1137s that make things a lot better um
1139s i will say that
1142s like i'm not running on a shabby
1143s resolution either but um streamer mode
1146s helps a lot for frame rates right there
1148s that does it does basically turns vsync
1150s on and limits the frame rate
1153s which i know some people don't like but
1154s you know what it helps a lot
1156s uh next patch will have a ton of
1159s um
1163s a ton of really small changes that will
1166s help with frame rates
1168s and
1169s a couple bigger ones too so like i mean
1171s this is what we've been saying for a
1172s while there's we're working pretty hard
1173s on frame rate stuff performance is a big
1176s ticket item for us
1178s it's really important
1181s so
1181s next patch will help a lot i can't
1183s guarantee that it's going to work on low
1186s powered systems like um i actually think
1188s that our recommend or minimum system
1190s requirements that are on uh steam are
1193s probably too low still oh
1197s i died

1200s um i think the two is so i do have a
1203s system that's very similar to that one
1204s and i can run it on it and it's some of
1207s those things we're like it technically
1208s runs
1209s it's not great
1213s so i'd like to i'd like to get that
1214s running better on lower system on that
1216s low of the system i don't think we'd
1217s ever lower that requirement though

1223s and maybe if we get enough performance
1225s movements yeah sure
1228s all right have you considered adding
1229s base mana region to the game in some
1231s ways such as through masteries
1232s particularly some like shaman are
1233s desperate for mana region i i think that
1236s um
1237s like you're talking about flat mana
1239s region

1243s the short answer like
1245s have you considered anything probably
1248s in this case yes we've considered it um
1252s is it going to happen uh
1253s probably not anytime soon if at all

1272s problems on shaman i don't think that's
1274s the solution to the man of problems on

1431s all right what is the sweet spot for a
1433s number of keys to pressure in the game
1435s grim dawn some builds suffer from piano
1437s uh because too many buttons and in pubes
1439s some builds are just one button builds
1440s um i mean so we only have five buttons
1442s that you can press in the game as is
1444s uh so it's it's never really gonna get
1447s crazy oh like six if you include potions
1450s and seven if you include movement and
1452s eight if you include the dungeon
1454s abilities so you can get up to eight in
1455s some like extreme scenarios
1457s um this is a pretty heavy
1461s button build here
1463s i would say
1464s um
1465s i'm having a ton of fun with it there
1466s are some builds that people play in
1468s epoch that are one button builds if you
1469s really want them
1472s uh we try to incentivize
1475s uh three four button builds as like
1477s things you're using frequently
1481s um
1482s but we don't force
1485s it think and i think it's important that
1487s people can like find builds that that
1490s sit in the sweet spot for them
1493s if that makes any sense
1498s and we tr i guess we try and take
1501s um
1502s have nodes in skill sheets because each
1504s each skill has a giant tree that goes
1506s with it um we try and have but uh have
1509s nodes in each tree that's like this is
1512s going to make this a more active skill
1513s it's a less active skill so like a good
1515s example is uh primalist companions when
1518s you summon the maximum number of
1519s companions you can summon
1521s uh the companion skill turns into an
1525s ability that you can activate so like
1526s with the wolves they howl uh as an
1528s example and it like uh buffs all the
1531s other uh all you and all of your other
1532s minions
1534s and um
1536s there's a node in the in the wolf skill
1538s tree that means that they just like will
1540s howl on cooldown basically i'm pretty
1542s sure that's still there
1544s um if it's not it was there one time
1547s and um so it kind of takes that button
1549s away from being a button you're using
1553s oh come on survive
1560s i'm just gonna stand over here you stand
1562s over there we'll get along great
1569s come on uh yeah
1576s uh how will you find parties will there
1578s be a system like dt for creating rooms
1580s uh currently we don't have uh like a
1583s room lobby system um we have so right
1586s right now in our our like what's what's
1588s live what's testing right now the only
1590s way to join a party is to just um to
1592s message someone uh to add like add them
1595s to your friends list
1596s and uh like join join the party with
1599s them that way um through the menus that
1601s are in game
1602s um we do want to have and we're still
1604s planning to have um
1606s major towns like uh
1608s uh end of time be uh be a hub where you
1610s can actually find people um so you can
1613s like just you you get in the game and
1615s then you find your party in the world
1617s instead of having a menu
1621s little exalted bows up there
1626s might be a little tough though i'm
1628s noticing this a little tricky let's go

1641s recommendation on a lot of builds are
1643s you considering building it into the
1644s game um
1647s once again with like the consideration
1648s question i mean yeah we've considered it

1651s it's not something that we're actively
1653s looking at doing

1656s oh if i could make it down the slope
1658s we've um
1661s we kind of look at uh
1663s like numlock autocast tricks or auto
1665s hockey autocad strix or like keyboard
1667s macros and and mouse macros things like
1670s that just like autocast them as as being
1673s like fine
1674s to do like we're not against it being a
1677s thing
1678s but we're not huge on that style of
1681s um i guess gameplay is being the like
1684s the primary recommended thing for
1686s quite a lot of builds
1689s and like we even we do we do actually
1691s have it built into
1692s um to some
1694s some builds at this point
1697s uh
1698s what is it
1700s uh enchant enchant weapon has an auto
1703s cast node on the uh on the skill trick
1704s actually
1706s i guess there's an example of us being
1707s like okay well this is if you don't want
1709s to have this button on your bar you can
1710s do it that way but really we want to
1712s take those abilities because there are
1713s several abilities that really thrive in
1715s an auto cast scenario
1717s um
1718s and have their sort of default
1719s functionality be less conducive to that
1722s um
1724s and and not that it's impossible but
1725s just maybe it's not optimal to autocast
1728s it
1730s um so we're
1732s that's that's the plan that's the goal
1733s is to have autocast be
1735s um if you really want to go ahead but if
1738s you're if you're going to try and push
1740s the
1741s the tiffany top of the everything or if
1743s you are just pushing your build as far
1745s as it can go you're probably going to
1746s get a little bit more mileage out of it
1748s by using it intentionally instead of on
1750s an auto cast
1754s and that's that just comes from changing
1756s the
1757s like the functionality of the
1759s ability itself

1860s think the problem with scales on one to
1862s ten frequently is defining what one and
1866s what 10 is so my opinion on scales of 1
1868s to 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 is either 1
1871s or 10
1872s based on what you've defined 1 and 10 as
1875s and based on what people have defined 1
1877s and ten as in their one to ten uh scales
1880s so i have no idea if you think that one
1882s is the best or ten is the best the way
1884s you phrased that so i give

1969s should we do that we don't need this
1971s poison res the vitality is kind of
1972s useless
1978s still way enough poison
1982s and three vitality is probably worth
1984s eight percent increase health
1986s you know over 2k now
1990s are repetitive stress injury carpal
1993s tunnel arthritis and other such things
1994s taken into consideration when making
1995s design decisions such as avoiding skill
1997s design that encourages auto casting yes
2000s absolutely um
2003s and um like it is interesting that like
2006s i've just said like we'd like to
2007s discourage auto casting in general yeah
2009s and
2010s we do try to make it so it's not the
2012s only way to do things right like we try
2014s to make things um
2019s like different ways to do it i think
2020s there's just too much
2022s in the way of auto casting right now
2023s that's available
2025s it's pretty nice necklace
2029s um
2030s also
2031s the reason we have uh controller support
2034s is because people have
2036s uh repetitive strain injuries on the
2037s team the
2038s like the game director has um a
2041s repetitive strain injury from playing
2042s too much diablo two as a kid and so when
2044s we started the project he was like we're
2047s doing controller support
2049s period
2051s um
2053s yeah so yes we do take repetitive strain
2055s injuries into account
2069s and there's a big difference between
2071s having
2072s like
2073s an ability where you have to spam it
2075s every tenth of a second in order to be
2077s optimal and an ability where you're
2079s intentionally casting it every 10
2081s seconds
2082s um you know like that's i think there's
2084s a big difference there and we'd like to
2086s be in the latter camp
2091s and

2109s somebody who doesn't know um death seal
2112s basically uh
2114s pumps our
2115s get we get more damage for the amount of
2117s missing health and death steel stops our
2119s health from going up so it forces our
2121s health to like stay low and and gives us
2123s a ton of damage and just starts pumping
2125s out damage there's the proper tooltip
2129s um and we've got in our in our skill 240
2130s just like automatically activates the
2132s the death wave over and over and over
2133s again
2134s um
2136s so that's where that's where a lot of
2137s our damage is coming from
2141s and then reperform gives us a second
2143s health pool so that um when you die
2147s in reperform you get popped into normal
2149s form um and when you're in reform your
2151s health is constantly decaying
2153s so you you have this sort of
2155s um
2156s these things pushing your health low and
2157s bonuses for health being low but if you
2159s do
2160s die
2161s um
2163s you you don't die you just go back to
2165s normal
2172s then you're pretty vulnerable
2176s all right
2177s are there any plans for twitch plug-in
2178s like pue gear sharing yeah um we'd love
2181s to do that and i'm sure we'll eventually
2183s get there i wouldn't say it's a core
2185s feature um so we're still a ways off
2188s from having that be something in the
2189s game but um
2191s yeah it's it's great
2194s um i think that's a really
2196s it's especially for games where you want
2197s to encourage streaming and encourage
2199s minion uh minions
2201s um i can encourage minion builds we do
2203s like to encourage minion builds we were
2205s just talking about
2206s um
2208s new minion builds to create actually
2210s um
2212s but what i'm trying to say if you do if
2214s you do want to encourage twitch and
2216s twitch streaming and community
2217s interaction with with twitch streaming i

2326s there has to be a really good reason for
2328s it you know like we already don't have
2330s many classes like it would have to be

2333s new masters simultaneously use this

2336s necrotic damage are already pretty
2338s underused
2340s um partially because there's only one
2341s void class at the moment which is point
2343s night and there's no

2345s like we're still missing through the
2346s masteries like so necrotic and void

2350s pretty light
2352s on who uses what
2354s but they can be added onto pretty easily
2356s in future masteries as well

3604s with when you're modifying ailments
3605s applied from
3607s um different sources like commonly
3609s applied from different sources so if you
3610s have if you have um like so for example
3612s i'm using bone curse right now that is a
3614s modified element that gets changed based
3616s on how i've specced the tree
3620s it's really rare to have bone cures
3621s applied for more than like for more than
3623s one source at a time especially in
3624s single player in multiplayer you can get
3626s it like up to four sources if you have
3628s four people rocking bone curse you can
3629s have it applied
3631s and and like that's kind of the limit
3632s but with ignite you can have ignite
3633s applied from
3635s hundreds of different sources in
3637s multiplayer like it's insane because you
3639s can you can like different minions can
3641s have different values for the way
3642s they're applying it and like um each
3644s player can have different menus applying
3646s it different ways and like enemies can
3648s apply to themselves you know like it's
3649s it's so many different ways that you can
3651s apply ignite and so being able to so
3653s modifying ignite based on a skill tree
3656s thing of like functionality modifying as
3658s i'm talking about not just damage
3660s but like functionality modifying it is
3663s is not really feasible so um if if we
3666s make something interesting with ignite
3667s it has to be either like a trigger off
3670s of ignite so like um damage to ignited
3672s enemies or um you have a chance to cause
3675s ignited enemies to bleed or something
3677s like that like there was this one um i
3678s think raptors can poisoning uh bleeding
3681s enemies or something like infecting the
3682s wound
3683s um and so there's interesting things we
3685s can do there with with with modifying it
3688s on a per
3689s uh
3691s like like not just um in general but but
3693s on like a certain instance basis
3697s uh and we try and do that as much as we
3699s can so i think that's really interesting

6355s and we're just uh now there's just a new
6357s stat called melee damage just flat added
6360s melee damage or flat added spell damage
6362s or flat added bow damage or flat out of
6363s throwing damage are all just stats you
6365s can have so they they're typeless
6368s flat added damage that because they are
6370s typeless they are adapted
6374s um
6379s there's a slight update there
6381s and
6383s i think what it's gonna do is it's gonna
6385s it's gonna bring more flexibility to the
6387s items that you can use and it's gonna
6389s make build crafting more interesting
6390s because it'll give you some more options
6392s i think that's basically all that's
6393s gonna happen with it
6394s um
6396s you'll be able to use an item maybe that
6398s maybe you're in a
6399s um
6401s like you're you're a fire build
6403s and there was um a weapon that like
6406s you've got like tons of increased fire
6407s damage your ability is giving you fire
6409s damage um it's a fire melee ability and
6411s you're like you're all about fire damage
6412s but this weapon that you really wanted
6413s to use because it had a sweet ability
6415s that went with it had added cold melee
6416s damage on it and it's just like
6418s kind of makes it crappy
6421s um suddenly it's just a good item for
6423s you now and um
6425s it's just another option that you can
6427s use i think it's gonna i think it's
6428s gonna make there be more options of
6430s things you can use out there
6437s so i'm looking forward to it
6445s are there plans to do some stat scaling
6447s balance to make crit chance and quick
6448s damage not be the dominant secondary
6450s step for most builds right now only
6452s asking because every build i create just
6454s ends up being massive amounts of crit
6455s burst to clear groups of monsters and
6458s chunk bosses down with massive crits
6460s yeah i think that the um
6463s in general crit is too strong i agree
6465s with you there um we've got some little
6467s changes that we've we've been slowly
6469s implementing in the game like doing

6503s we're also i think the numbers on a lot

6518s because crit's fun that's the other
6520s thing like a lot of people really enjoy

6705s reasons to use other helmets but it's
6707s you have to justify it and like i think
6709s i just rolled through pretty quickly
6710s almost all the options and it's the same
6712s thing on a barb like if you have uh
6714s aryan's face it's sort of like justify
6716s using something other than air it's good
6717s luck
6721s and um so so having these things that
6723s are opening up the options can sometimes
6725s cause that to happen a little bit

6729s which is not ideal
6731s um so yeah it does give us more
6733s balancing challenges
6735s um but hopefully we can make the
6738s um effects on the items the interesting
6740s part instead of just raw stats because
6742s that's one of the things about shaker
