229s that and it doesn't really tend to fit

233s um in a gameplay flow it's also really
235s difficult for

238s like uh animation smoothing and
242s um like preempting animations so that it
244s feels really Snappy
246s when you have a system like that so
249s it's not impossible but uh it provides a
253s lot of problems in that category
258s um and that's the sort of stuff that
258s we're really working on having feel
260s really tight so any problems that show
262s up there are uh something we like to
264s avoid

270s so unlikely to add something like that

326s someone I think pitched the idea and it
328s was just really exciting and we really
329s love it and so it was it was partially

344s creature debating what it's going to
345s look like we went through literally
349s dozens of like different concepts
353s Silhouettes from different angles
355s um you know okay let's take the wings
356s from this and the legs from this and the
359s shoulder from that and
360s um it was a long time of like of just
363s like debating all the little details
366s because we're creating a new
368s um like creature and and it's something
370s that you're shape shifting into so some
371s of you me playing as and
373s getting that feeling just right was
375s really important so we we spent a long
377s time
378s you know in in the in that uh
380s conversation that was that was
383s well over a year long uh process

399s as far as I know there's not a penalty
400s being lower level than the Zone
402s regarding damage to the mobs and our
403s chance to hit only their HP
406s uh damage of being higher level
408s Experience slash experience cap is that
410s correct yeah there's no

413s scaling that happens for the power of an
416s enemy relative to your level the enemy
419s has its level and has its stats
421s that's it
428s shield on my way

448s more damage the longer the channel yeah
450s and it's it's it's a little janky I
452s think you'd agree probably
454s um there's two skills I think that work
455s that way actually there's there's
456s puncture and there's one other two I
458s think and they're not they don't feel
460s quite perfect especially when you get
462s into multiplayer there's even more
463s problems
465s um so yeah it's we you're right we do
467s have that uh and I guess probably is why
469s we don't do it more is because I don't
470s know personally I wasn't overly happy
472s with the way that one turned out
475s I don't think it's overly popular
477s um mechanic either to use
483s yeah break that channeling
488s I know I mentioned it like every time
489s but it's still so weird to see the 15
491s plus as a uh as does like this is how

497s Stacks do you have something because in
498s multiplayer it's it's not like that
500s anymore

505s screen turn a reddish when I'm low
507s Health sometimes I think everything is
509s fine when my HP is low and I'm dead

513s we did have that for a while actually
516s um or we may even still have it to some
518s degree
520s um there's a few things that do happen
521s when you go low health and some of them
522s might be a little too subtle but there
524s are reasons for the
526s power that they're at um if you have
528s suggestions on that please feel free to

895s that have fallen behind that are really

903s uh replaced there's some enemies that we

908s before we had our modern pipeline in

911s um I think we just finished making the
915s last replacement for that so I think we
917s were officially out of like
920s enemies that were created by taking
922s three things of the accessories
923s literally just slapping them together
926s um because there are a few enemies like
927s that still in the game the uh man of not
930s um the void fused armor come to mind

943s not really much surprises there uh
945s there's probably more details on the
947s things we're focusing on in the last
948s couple development update posts on the

952s uh that that'll have details on on the
955s types of things we're working on really
958s but yeah it's it's multiplayer combat

962s um performance those are the big ones
965s and a story presentation I think I put
967s story presentation in the in that
968s category as well um there's a lot of
970s things we're doing for story

972s um and that's from just like like
975s rewriting a lot of the script stuff

978s changing the way that uh just dialogue
980s appears the way it's physically
981s presented The Styling of that
984s um the the different uh some of the
988s different story beats there's just a lot
990s of like little improvements that are
991s happening in that category uh so I'd put
994s that in there too
997s the start of the game The Campaign needs
999s a little a little bit of a glow up let's

1015s uh will hard idle drop chance be a
1019s little less or will it remain the same
1021s uh I mean the the we don't have any
1024s major plans to change drop chance of

1028s I'm not sure what the hard idle part is

1034s um how big of a drop in power should we
1036s expect to see with the impending ailment
1038s changes specifically wondering about
1039s non-poison damaging elements uh like
1041s electrified Knight bleed Etc I I minimal
1045s I would say or maybe not minimum minor
1047s it's a minor
1052s I don't I don't think you'll
1054s I don't think you'll be disappointed in
1056s the viability of ailments post to change
1059s at all I think what will happen is
1062s um
1064s things will be simplified a little bit
1066s in the way they work and uh
1070s that's the biggest change that'll happen
1072s you'll probably actually have
1074s um
1078s yeah it's not a humongous change
1081s so yeah I wouldn't be worried about it
1083s if you're like oh well my bot dot build
1085s still be viable to play uh when multiple
1088s launches yeah duck builds are still
1090s viable to play

1103s are you considering platforms such as
1106s Steam deck throughout new and upcoming
1107s development processes uh being that the
1110s manufacturing hurdles valve was
1112s encountering seems to be fading away and
1114s more players should have access to this
1115s Hardware additionally are we going to
1117s see more improvements to controller
1118s support that would potentially impact
1119s steam deck players as well yeah so um
1122s first off controller support yes
1124s controller support is a what I would say
1126s a core piece of functionality that we
1128s want to have
1130s um fully implemented at our same high
1132s quality standards for 1.0 launch so yes
1134s that will affect steam deck
1137s um people because they use controller
1138s controls
1140s um
1143s as as far as do we consider platforms
1146s such as theme deck yes we do definitely
1147s consider them we don't develop for them
1149s though
1150s um because we don't have the we know the
1153s resources to to really make sure that
1156s they that they all work and they're all
1157s happy there's lots of people that do
1158s play on some of these other platforms
1160s like um
1161s uh GeForce now is there GeForce next
1164s first now oh crap whatever the the
1167s the
1169s that device is it it has like there's
1173s some unique bugs regarding loot filters
1175s uh on that one
1177s um unfortunately it's not really a
1178s platform we're supporting yet so it
1180s would not on our the top of our list to
1182s fix bugs like that
1184s um if we can get easy wins there yeah
1187s it's something we we do consider and
1189s keep in mind but the primary focus is
1191s getting the the PC release out the door
1194s smooth sailing
1196s lovely all that sort of stuff and then
1198s after launch we can start looking at
1200s other platforms we can start deciding
1201s hey oh there's there's this platform is
1204s really easy to get in because we already
1205s have support for like controller and
1208s Linux support and suddenly there's a
1211s device that's basically a giant Linux
1213s controller that already runs on Steam
1215s and hey it's not a big stretch to get
1216s that in but for for now it is
1219s um if you can get it to work great if
1221s you can't sorry we don't actually
1222s support it yet is the official stance on
1224s that one
1227s and I have seen people getting it to
1228s work
1231s um and I do expect that we'll get a lot
1233s better especially with the performance
1234s improvements that are coming because one
1235s of the big things I do see is is
1237s performance issues being a large
1239s consideration for uh steam deck not
1242s being fully finished and and controller
1244s functionality not being fully finished
1245s so I mean there's there's natural
1247s improvements to that that will come
1249s incidental improvements to that that
1250s will come
1252s um but it's not a focus for us
1253s unfortunately right now
1256s are there any plans to happen two-handed
1258s weapons feel better is that an issue for
1260s you I mean there's there's plans to make
1261s all
1263s combat feel better so yes encapsulated
1265s in the combat improvements two-handed
1266s weapon improvements
1267s um we'll definitely be there so yes
1271s any update on Co-op uh it's going great
1275s uh we recently put an update out for uh
1278s the
1280s RCT build program
1284s I think it's out it's either like out or
1285s out today or out tomorrow or something
1286s like that but it's it's um
1289s coming along real strong
1292s constant stream of people that are still
1294s coming in that program is expanding
1296s um which is great great to see if you're
1298s still waiting to get into that I am
1299s really sorry we're doing our best to get
1301s everyone as quick as we can it takes a
1303s long time
1304s um because it is a closed system that
1306s does require ndas uh there is manual
1308s checks that need to be done to make sure
1310s everything is
1311s um solid and appropriate and everything
1314s so we're still making sure we're doing
1317s our due diligence there
1319s um
1320s and unfortunately those slow things down
1321s a bit
1328s but we've already surpassed
1330s what what our goal for Edmunds into the
1333s CC program was when we started we opened
1334s things up again
1336s um we've already blown past that goal
1338s weeks ago
1343s I did see a request I don't know if
1345s we're gonna do this or not I know people
1346s have been asking for this but I just
1348s wanted to acknowledge that I didn't see
1349s the request uh someone asked to uh
1352s to have a like a a pending applications
1356s counter and a total number of
1358s applications accepted counter I don't
1361s know if that's information we're ready
1361s to share it specifically
1365s um I thought it was a cool idea
1373s these squirrels are just doing work my
1375s gear is junky
1384s uh with your current experience what
1386s would you say are the most difficult
1387s things to code and yet look relatively
1389s simple on the outside
1392s um I mean everything's everything's
1394s harder than it looks

1417s just just getting getting the animation

1440s down to as well is getting the quality

1445s easy it's great it worked no problem but
1447s it's just like it's not awesome
1450s and give them that last little bit of
1452s quality is the really the really hard

1466s speed at which these fields populate

1482s panel to kind of Jitter because it

1917s mechanically unique or power boosting

1921s um in in a Twist drop that wouldn't also
1923s be available in game so it would likely
1925s be cosmetic related stuff if we did it

1932s not like an unfair Advantage where it's
1934s like oh you can only have this special
1935s build if you come to the twitch stream
1937s that we want to avoid things like that

2020s identity of the game sort of evolved as

2026s a lot of it was just hey wouldn't this

2037s lean into the the time travel theming
2040s um and and have that be a really uh
2043s unique unique look in that airbn genre
2045s because I don't think there's like the
2047s the theming specifically like you look
2049s at most of the other big ones there's
2050s not really a heavy emphasis on time
2052s travel
2054s um so yes that was how we were looking
2055s to stand up and wow holy crap uh trusty
2058s tree has tipped a hundred dollars thank

3381s those knock-on effects are minimized
3383s because of this
3384s that does not mean we get it right every
3386s time at all
3388s um but I think it makes it easier for us

3401s um we're still learning techniques and
3404s and ways to approach balancing and
3406s things like that so it's that that whole

4763s things I was like I really want to make
4765s sure we get this in is a melee Mage

5311s did was like we're like don't report
5313s bugs tell us how it feels

5318s reports which is great and we use those
5320s to fix the bugs but
5322s um you know like it's it's that that was
5324s the big part of our focus and that's
5326s what I was talking about earlier about
5326s getting like animations to line up
5328s properly and like do the effects feel
5330s good and there's a lot of little things
5332s that we're doing there still to improve
5334s that experience and I think overall the
5336s feedback for that like how smooth is the
5337s multiplayer
5339s um how is it fun to play with friends
5341s like is there nice interactions between
5343s skills and

5345s are there interesting interesting things
5348s that show up because you're playing in a
5349s party instead of just playing on your
5350s own and and I think the general answer
5352s that is yeah it's it's great there's
5354s there's all sorts of new stuff that

5358s um getting to play with your friends is

5360s all sort of stuff and
5362s um it was always room for improvement so

5797s type situation by using dungeons the
5799s early low-level dungeons aren't quite

5804s um we need more dungeons as well to make
5805s that better and pop a little bit better
5808s um so yeah there's there's some things
5809s missing there we are also looking at

5813s um the early campaign zones uh they're
5816s just not quite up to the same quality
