1038s | like okay well they gotta buy entry into |

1136s | lot with sort of a weird analogy I think |

1142s | trade and and like what's too |
1145s | restrictive what's not restrictive |
1146s | enough and that sort of stuff |
1147s | um you can look at uh |
1151s | uh DRM for uh for for games like um |
1156s | cracking and trying to prevent cracking |
1158s | from happening for games and |
1161s | uh there's like a couple decades of this |
1165s | of this struggle and |
1167s | um |
1168s | how we see sometimes |
1171s | when it goes too far and it starts |
1173s | cutting into the |
1175s | um the play and play experience and |
1177s | enjoyment of people who are just using |
1179s | the services exactly as they're intended |

1183s | and it's it's definitely I think there's |
1185s | a lot of parallels there I think it's |
1187s | interesting to look at |
1192s | I think some of this some of this um |
1194s | situations or configurations of trade |
1197s | that we considered we definitely looked |
1198s | at and went someone's gonna try and use |
1200s | this normally and it is gonna get uh hit |
1205s | very frustrating walls |
1208s | because of some restriction we've had to |
1210s | put in place for this idea to make it |
1211s | not be overly usable in someone's |
1213s | suddenly is not trying to abuse the |
1216s | system but is getting hit with these |
1218s | restrictions anyway so it's very |
1219s | frustrating |
1221s | hmm and that's that's definitely it |
1224s | that's not a good experience |
1229s | feels very arbitrary it feels very |

1390s | love it uh and those who don't like |
1392s | trading play ssf or single player |
1394s | anyways |
1396s | um there's there's a couple different |
1399s | uh reasons why that's not just like the |
1401s | obvious answer to do I'm not saying |
1403s | that's not ever going to happen or |
1404s | anything like that but the the reasons |
1406s | that immediately spring to mind of why |
1408s | why this is a might not be implemented |
1410s | could be something like |
1413s | um |
1414s | maintaining |
1415s | two different drop tables or drop |
1419s | balance environments |
1421s | is almost necessary when you do |
1423s | something like that because uh you |
1426s | either end up with I think there's a |
1428s | sort of like |
1429s | it's a big big Spectrum but I think you |
1431s | kind of end up in one of three |
1432s | categories where either the drops are |
1435s | um |
1436s | pretty plentiful and it's it feels good |
1438s | to play an ssf it's probably the drop |
1440s | table that we have right now and people |
1443s | who are playing in a trade focused |
1445s | League end up having this just like loot |
1448s | pinata that happens every single time |
1450s | because uh everything becomes so easy to |
1453s | obtain |
1455s | um and then I think you have |
1458s | yeah this the swing side of that is |
1459s | unique things so that they're they're |
1461s | pretty easy the difficulty to obtain is |
1463s | bounced around |
1465s | I'm necessary we've all heard a billion |
1466s | times |
1468s | too quickly |
1470s | um you have the |
1472s | uh you bounce you balance it around the |
1474s | the trade itself and then suddenly ssf |
1476s | becomes so painfully uh brutal to obtain |
1480s | gear by comparison and it's sort of a |
1482s | grasses green situation at that point |
1484s | where you're saying like Okay well why |
1486s | did they get the gear and items |
1489s | uh although if I want to if I want to do |
1491s | this build it's become really popular I |
1492s | have to go play in the other game |
1495s | and it's it's a it's a tricky thing I'm |
1497s | sure there's like a whole bunch of like |
1498s | psychology stuff done around it that I |
1500s | don't understand |
1502s | um and then the third situation is you |
1503s | end up somewhere in the middle where |
1504s | it's probably a little bit too easy for |
1506s | one and probably a little bit too hard |
1507s | for the other and it's sort of this |
1509s | if it kind of falls into that second |
1511s | category anyway |
1513s | um and then so the solution there often |
1515s | suggests is okay we'll maintain two |
1518s | balance environments for for gear one |
1519s | ssf one |
1524s | it's it's not impossible |
1528s | um |
1529s | I think it's dangerous because I think |
1532s | you can end up in that same |
1535s | well it's like the if it's not very very |
1539s | well balanced you can end up in a |
1541s | similar situation where hey it's too |
1544s | easy for it's too easy on the other side |
1545s | I don't want to play that way but I feel |
1547s | like I have to |
1550s | um and that can go either way really |
1551s | like it can be in trade oh it's too easy |
1554s | to play ssf I should probably won't be |
1556s | that way but still it's it can be or |
1558s | yeah if you balance them individually it |
1560s | can be either way right |
1562s | oh it's been it's been a time thinking |
1564s | about this for a long time but my point |
1566s | is |

1568s | there's a lot to consider with with us |
1571s | with a suggestion like that and it's I'm |
1572s | not saying it's impossible |

1575s | but it's also in the way of money for |
1576s | 0.9 |
1577s | for point nine we're sticking with what |
1579s | the forum both said and that's |
1582s | um we're gonna we're gonna do what |
1583s | that's the Forum post said we're gonna |
1585s | see how it goes we're gonna collect a |
1586s | bunch of feedback collect a bunch of |
1587s | data see how it feels see how it goes |
1590s | and evaluate what we're looking at and |
1592s | then decide what we're gonna do |
1600s | ideally there's also the issue that |
1603s | creates media is you can never at that |
1605s | point you can't transition characters if |
1607s | if you don't maintain two separate |
1610s | balance environments you can't |
1611s | transition characters from one to the |
1613s | other you can never say like okay my |
1614s | character was ssf but now I'm going to |
1616s | transition into trade |

1619s | um suddenly you just have people farming |
1621s | in ssf and then transition into trading |
1623s | to sell them |

1626s | that's that's not all right that's |
1628s | definitely not all right |
1630s | um so there's there's you know |
1633s | lots of nuance there lots of things that |
1635s | I'm very much glancing over the surface |
1637s | of this could go a lot deeper |

1748s | frustrating for everyone involved |
