170s | and so I've been really enjoying that |
180s | so much my damage comes from applying |
182s | bone curse that like if I don't apply it |
183s | it's so many hits but if I do apply it |
185s | it's just one hit and everything's |
194s | dead we are falling we are falling a |
196s | little bit of a build here see if I can |

286s | specific tree It's tricky to have it |
288s | appear in too many places it's not |
291s | performant um so you'll quite often see |
293s | things that are like bone curse for |
296s | example is a perfect example I'm using |
297s | right now bone curse has a lot of uh |
299s | ways to change it in its skill tree um |
303s | and it's not very performant to do that |
305s | when there are um many other sources |
309s | from other players of that same ailment |
312s | so um like you know you can get away |
315s | with it when it's just when it's just a |
316s | few uh few sources cuz you basically |
318s | have to be every player would have to be |
320s | playing a bone curse class like an |
323s | acolyte that's playing bone curse that's |
325s | a pretty narrow set of acolytes that are |
327s | that are actually using this specific |
328s | curse right like there's some some L |
330s | stuff and some warlock stuff and some |
332s | Necromancer stuff but like they're all |
334s | really specific versions of those things |
338s | um and so the like if everyone has their |
341s | own version it does work but it's really |
343s | rare to |
345s | have it's actually with bone curse it's |
347s | impossible to have multiple sources of |
350s | bone curse from multiple players |
352s | simultaneously so like to have |
356s | um so many different versions of it at |
359s | the same time doesn't doesn't happen |
362s | um so this is this is why we don't have |
365s | major changes in skill trees to the |
367s | actual ailments themselves for really |
369s | common ailments like ignite for example |
371s | or bleed because there's like every |
373s | class and its minion can produce bleed |
376s | um and when when it's coming from so |
379s | many different sources it's actually a |
381s | big problem performance- wise so |

386s | yeah possess is one of the things that |
388s | we could see more skills that affect it |
392s | um I'd say it's unlikely to too many |
396s | maybe maybe one more but it would still |
398s | be on acolyte which I know is I think is |
401s | what you asked for |
404s | anyways more skills yeah so yeah it's |
407s | it's possible that it could show up more |
409s | um but it would probably still be on |
411s | acolyte um they probably be on similar |
413s | build that sort of |
415s | thing that's a cool setpiece I don't |
417s | think I've noticed that for a while |

438s | of a higher ped ospr model what |
440s | percentage of the likelihood that we can |
442s | see an ospr as a new playable |

448s | um I'd put it in the not impossible |

453s | um but not actively being um pursued at |

467s | moment but I think there's it's it's |
470s | It's tricky because so if we say we |

474s | ospr class then there's |

480s | are we introducing an ospri as a race |
482s | alternative to every class it's playable |
485s | or are we introducing ospri as a um as a |
489s | specific class like the ospr class or |
491s | like make a class that happens to be an |
493s | ospr that sort of thing so then there's |
495s | this very heavy theming that gets tied |
497s | to that class |
501s | um I don't I don't know if we need to do |
503s | like more masteries first before we do |
505s | something like that or what but there's |
507s | like there's there's a little bit of |
510s | uh got to make sure that's that's done |

954s | duper low chance I I hate I hate being |
956s | like no never cuz you know ever's a long |
958s | time and the game changes as we go with |
960s | the state that it's in right now there's |
961s | no intention of adding an AIX like that |

968s | um as soon as we do as soon as we add |
971s | that as a generic AIX that can just like |
973s | go on stuff um or like as a as an item |
977s | that's not restricted at all it's just |
978s | like just anyone can use like as as an |
980s | amulet that just has that on it or |

983s | like dual leech ring or something like |
985s | that as soon as we do that we have to |
987s | completely rebalance every ability in |
989s | the game that has a high Mana cost |
995s | um to to to have a cool down we have to |
997s | we have to add a ton of cooldowns to |
999s | abilities in the game like suddenly |
1000s | Glacier needs a gigantic cool down you |

1007s | and it's really something we're trying |
1009s | to avoid doing it's it's not like a a |
1011s | hard no never going to happen but like |
1014s | it it's a really it creates a it creates |
1018s | a very big problem that we very |
1020s | intentionally built the entire rest of |
1022s | the game around not |
1023s | having |
1026s | um so it's it's it's difficult to |
1028s | justify there has to be like a really |
1030s | important reason to have it |
1033s | um and it's it is a little bit of a |
1035s | different mindset in in these abilities |
1037s | that are balanced |
1039s | around |
1041s | um their Mana cost and your ability to |
1043s | regenerate Mana than they are around a |
1045s | cool down and a lot of that is is great |
1049s | in that uh you don't have you're not |
1051s | sitting there waiting on a cool down |
1052s | you're you're dealing with a combat |
1054s | puzzle in that you are balancing around |
1057s | Mana |
1059s | um which I think is a really positive |
1061s | thing um but if you're if you're used to |
1065s | um being able to to like get Mana leech |
1068s | and where you can create Mana to be a |
1070s | situation where Mana is no longer an |
1071s | issue in a build |
1073s | um that might be something that you're |
1075s | kind of hunting |
1077s | for uh so it has a little bit of a |
1078s | different feel than um games that do |
1081s | have |
1088s | it is the off chance it's poison I'm |

1097s | thing to I have a lot of Mobility |

1163s | enough which is a bug so like the fact |
1166s | that you think it might be a bug makes |
1167s | it a bug it's like |
1169s | uh saying that's remarkable it's always |
1171s | true it's a self-fulfilling statement |

1180s | make the bugger Port |
1188s | please I've seen it in quite a few |

1199s | reduced Health cost AIC is supposed to |
1201s | work with nodes like blood tithe in |
1203s | chaos bolts or is consumption different |
1205s | than cost um consumption is different |
1208s | than cost so if there's so |
1211s | the like this this has a like a health |
1215s | cost associated with |
1223s | it yeah that does sound like it would it |
1225s | should work though let's let's take a |
1227s | look we can actually open that cuz we're |

1241s | tithe yeah I mean it's got different |
1243s | wording that makes it be like oh it's |
1245s | not a cost it's a consumption but yeah |
1247s | that does feel like a cost the way that |
1250s | the way that is happening cuz it is a |

1257s | I I I think it's probably intentional |
1260s | that it doesn't work but I think it |

1343s | then you drill a little deeper and it's |
1344s | like oh my goodness to make it actually |
1346s | look and feel and play good it is |

1368s | cool I think it would be uh a good thing |

1374s | um there's just there's a lot of things |
1376s | that need like it needs it needs the |
1378s | game needs rebalancing around it if we |
1379s | add it that's the |
1381s | thing and it also creates a lot of tech |
1383s | de too because |
1386s | um more control schemes means every time |
1389s | you add a new ability every time you |
1391s | like change major things about how you |
1393s | control your character uh you have to |
1395s | you have to take that into account when |
1396s | you're making new things that interact |
1397s | with how you control your |
1399s | character so just just like having a |
1402s | controller um version of the like |
1404s | controller support at all it it already |
1407s | does this then we add wasi and it it |
1408s | adds at a again we're adding an extra |
1410s | layer every time we make a new ability |
1411s | we have to like figure out how does it |
1414s | work with each control scheme um and it |
1416s | restrict some of the abilities you can |
1417s | make where you're like I really want to |
1419s | make this ability but you're like okay |
1420s | well that control scheme it just won't |
1422s | work with or this control scheme it'll |
1424s | just be like crazy overpowered with and |
1426s | it's it's it it gives you a few |
1428s | restrictions which isn't always a bad |
1429s | thing um but you know it's I'll say it's |
1433s | a frustrating thing a lot of the time |
1443s | zip through here a little bit did I go |
1445s | the wrong way I think I went the wrong |
1447s | way don't do the campaign enough to to |
1451s | actually know every Zone |
1464s | properly oh let's see what the shrine is |

1623s | like when you're playing with on the |
1625s | live client in when you're playing an |
1627s | offline character on the live client yes |
1630s | um but if you boot the game in Steam in |
1632s | like offline mode um where like the |
1635s | entire client is booted up in offline |
1636s | mode um the game never calls to the |
1640s | internet for anything so there's no way |
1641s | for us to track that at all |

1672s | Transplant I was playing with my Budd |
1674s | who hasn't played an acolyte yet uh just |
1677s | a couple days ago he he saw me use |

2073s | uniques that drop yeah this is a tricky |
2076s | one so on one hand um it does kind of |
2079s | suck to have uh uniques that go unused |
2082s | and they they drop and you're kind of |
2084s | like leave them behind that sort of |
2085s | thing it's like w with nothing to do |
2086s | with them |
2089s | um it would be kind of nice to have a |
2091s | way to um have have some sort of system |
2094s | that takes them and uses them to do |
2097s | something whether that's |
2100s | like in a lot of other games that |
2102s | includes usually like a crafting |
2103s | material system where there's like uh |
2107s | you you you break them down you get like |
2109s | an exalted exalt is a bad word for it |
2112s | but you get like uh an orange crafting |
2114s | mat and then you can use those in high |
2117s | level crafting recipes that sort of |
2119s | thing suddenly every single unique item |
2121s | that drops becomes worthwhile to pick |
2125s | up um and so you're kind of you're kind |
2128s | of stuck with two solutions at that |
2130s | point one drop way fewer unique |
2133s | items |
2134s | um |
2136s | which I I doubt would be everyone's |
2139s | first choice or you have |
2143s | to |
2145s | um uh you have to like I guess there's a |
2147s | few options you can make the value of |
2149s | that such that it only is worthwhile |
2151s | picking up like rare versions of it so |
2153s | it's like you're you're at the same |
2155s | issue still you're picking up slightly |
2156s | more things but not everything and you |
2159s | still have a similar issue um you can |
2162s | also then try to uh make it be a uh like |
2166s | a field operation so you don't have to |
2168s | go back to Camp to um to do the the the |
2172s | breaking down process so you can do it |
2174s | in the in the field and it's just it's |
2176s | it's another it's another one of these |
2177s | things it's another like okay you got a |
2179s | unique let me let me open my crafting |
2181s | materials and let's let's grab an item |
2183s | and let's use it on it and okay it |
2185s | breaks it down right let's keep going |
2186s | and it breaks up that flow |
2191s | oh my |
2193s | goodness and it breaks up that flow |
2195s | quite a bit uh when you have when you |
2198s | have such |
2202s | large |
2206s | um like important things to do with uh |
2209s | your extra time |
2211s | there don't think we're actually good |

2221s | this balance of we don't want you to |
2222s | pick up too many things um cuz then you |
2225s | have to go do something with them and we |
2228s | don't want you to leave behind too many |
2229s | things cuz it feels bad leaving Behind |
2231s | these big shining glowing things on the |

2235s | um and I don't think there's a I don't |
2238s | think I've seen a good solution for this |
2240s | issue yet |
