314s power difference is so minimal i'm sure

319s but yeah slower than it is now

326s a we haven't figured it out yet we
328s haven't landed on something yet and i
330s don't have a personal frame reference

385s and i i think part of it is getting to
387s hundreds too easy so that you're hitting
390s that point a lot sooner

402s because the level 100 character with
403s good gear with a level 100 character
405s with bad gear versus a level 80
407s character with good gear the 80s
408s character is probably better

566s 10 swirls or whatever they all condense
568s into one uh targeting frame like one one

629s with that raycast and it it's
632s alternating every frame between or maybe
634s it's every ten frames like that between
636s ray casting

639s two things that can hit anything and
641s things that can only hit

645s um so you can still get minion targeting
647s when it's underneath an enemy

656s you know i i don't know the good
657s solution to being able to target a
659s skeleton behind a abomination but i

730s big of a deal but this is the concept of
733s of one of the reasons why we don't work
734s on things like that in in why we choose
737s to work on things in the order we do
739s um because it makes less total work
741s for us which makes the game release

746s but say you have uh we make a health
750s globe for
751s the colorblind gray health health globe
754s and um
756s i'm not talking about uh let's mode gray
758s but like the term gray health
760s and uh
762s then we change what the health globe
763s looks like and it's now a square so now
765s suddenly we have to make two

769s two health globes for that or health
772s squares now
773s uh to represent the two different types
775s that are there that are in the system
776s but if we
778s were 100 locked in on the globe instead
781s of square
782s or maybe we switched to square first
784s then we never make the gray health globe
788s we only make the great health square
789s because we did that after

792s i hope i'm explaining myself well but i
793s don't feel like i am
795s this is just one of the reasons why we

798s we pick kind of seemingly weird orders
800s to do things and sometimes
803s it's what i'm trying to get at
812s and it's not that one thing is
813s necessarily more important than another

818s the most efficient way to get all of

824s because that's our that's our goal

827s everything's working towards right now
828s is how fast can we get to one point now
831s and and the game development doesn't

867s it's it's a lot more expensive of a

882s to put on the same thing again anyways i

891s the efficiency of it is possibly a

1077s i was trying to make a fortress the
1079s other day was having issues with the
1081s passive tree i felt like i was forced to
1082s spend points in nodes i didn't want in
1085s the lower half of the tree
1086s and was point starved in the top half
1088s for nodes i actually want other devs
1091s plan to make some changes to forge
1092s retreat i mean so we don't um
1097s there's
1098s the answer that question for are there
1100s plans to make changes to insert class
1101s name here tree yeah the answer is always
1103s yes because we're always planning on
1104s making changes to all of them all the
1106s time forever
1109s do we have specific plans for specific
1111s nodes to fix this specific problem no
1114s um
1116s i'm always happy to hear suggestions on
1118s things like this for sure um what else
1120s is this oh i don't wanna help you that's
1122s nice

1126s but no we don't have any any like hard
1127s plans for
1129s for anything like that right now i know
1130s we are planning on looking at
1132s uh adding in the threshold nodes for
1135s more classes so we we um
1137s in eight four we added a new style of
1140s passive nodes called threshold nodes
1142s whereby um at a certain threshold
1146s you get an extra bonus to that tree so
1148s it could be like the node just gives
1150s plus one strength but
1151s um if you hit five out of ten possible
1154s points that goes in there uh you get an
1156s extra 200 health
1161s um
1165s and and those are mostly in druid right
1166s now but i think they're really
1167s successful and quite popular
1178s how did i not die there oh my okay we're
1181s good
1185s it's really close to eating my own words
1193s but yeah if you've got like um
1197s a suggestion for it or like just it
1199s doesn't feel specific like move this
1201s node to that node um it can be general
1203s suggestions it goes great on our forums
1205s just things like maybe
1207s describing the scenario you were in and
1213s maybe if you can come out why like was
1215s it a specific build you were playing
1217s i know i know i've heard similar
1219s feedback with pure throwing builds
1228s did i find four uniques this uh this one

1326s uh possibly extending the time it takes
1329s to hit 100 as each of plans for some
1331s sort of progression fall off that
1332s happens around 76 or so
1334s skills fully leveled gears somewhat
1336s solid notable passives taken yeah and um

1341s it's sort of that like the point where
1342s like i guess end game starts to kick in
1345s um and a lot of our level scaling and uh
1350s like level scaling curves and unlock
1352s curves and things like that have been
1355s uh skewed a little bit based on the
1357s quantity of end game systems we've had
1360s up until now
1362s and we've never felt overly confident in
1364s the volume of end game systems we've had
1366s and i think we're starting to feel now
1368s that it's in a better place where we can
1370s um
1371s we can kind of start to treat it more
1373s like it's a
1375s a full game's worth of end game content
1377s to
1378s to operate on
1380s not happening
1382s that makes any sense
1384s and uh like this arbor key just what
1386s we're looking for
1390s always nice to see
1393s and um

1396s so i can see some of those other other
1398s curves changing a little bit
1401s um but probably not too much
1406s uh and this is one of those things as
1408s well that maybe we change one of them
1410s and it

1412s it exposes that another one of them
1413s needs to change alongside it or

1416s and maybe we don't realize that
1417s immediately and we discovered through
1419s play testing
1423s because we haven't got there yet it's uh
1426s that's what we discovered yet you know

1441s i think i might need to uh take a look
1442s at my bow i think the bow's falling off

1449s i guess it's too late for march multi
1450s update will be on for april i don't want
1451s to guarantee it just because it's not me

1588s there and end games and in-game items
1590s and that's something that'll continue to

1599s expansions and improvements down the
1601s road it's just a matter of when
1606s sometimes it'll be
1607s maybe a new unique that spurs on a new
1609s base type maybe it'll be a new
1612s chapter that'll
1615s make that make sense when there's like a
1616s new timeline or you know
1619s a new location or something you know
1621s that makes it make sense to have a new
1623s type or maybe there's
1625s like a new class that comes in that
1626s needs new types or maybe there's
1628s so many things that can trigger so many
1629s other things like that
1644s nice little chaos in there
1646s take that
1648s does he hg plan to add support for
1650s spells in spellblade trees so that
1652s spells can be viable with spellblade at
1654s any point in development
1656s maybe it's so hard to answer these like
1658s do we ever plan to do this because the
1659s answer is almost always just well maybe

1667s there is this sort of like
1670s disconnect so spells in general are more
1674s like longer range spells that are
1676s designed for sorcerer and runemaster
1679s will fall more in that category as well
1681s probably i would say likely kind of

1694s the melee abilities are in a way spells
1696s but they're like they're not tagged as
1698s spells it's the big difference really
1701s that makes any sense

1726s like a loss of class identity
1731s like as soon as it can do everything it
1732s can really do anything
1737s unless it actually can do everything
1741s like a d2 paladin do anything
1758s uh was the ability to skip the gun
1759s chapter be a sanctum something you
1760s intentionally designed or thought about
1762s yeah it's one of the cornerstones of
1764s dungeons is having a
1766s content skip in the campaign
1768s and and all the dungeons have a have a
1770s campaign skip associated with them
1771s specifically so that
1774s on follow-up characters you don't
1776s necessarily have to
1778s run the entire campaign every single
1780s time you
1781s uh you start a new character so that you
1783s can you can speed that up and you can
1785s customize that campaign experience so if
1787s there's like a boss that's particularly
1789s difficult for the class you're playing
1791s um you can skip it maybe this boss is
1792s particularly easy for the boss you're
1794s playing and you can intentionally go to
1795s that one
1796s so yes that was
1797s very intentionally designed and is one
1799s of the primary reasons for dungeons
1801s existing in the way they do
1809s uh did you try to facetank all their
1811s attacks and magic as well i mean i
1813s didn't try to
1815s uh but it just kind of happened
1832s no i don't know what happened it was
1833s just a nuts night like
1835s over the course of three games i played
1836s seven spells
1838s it was bad
1842s usually usually our games take like
1844s three hours per
1850s you know we're we're usually playing
1852s pretty low power stuff we're just
1853s hanging out having fun
1860s but everyone said all the stars just the
1862s line you know
1868s adjustments equals bought a time walk
1871s and some boxes online
1873s no i added like
1876s you know i'd making an anguish on making
1879s to
1880s my orizov deck and i added a
1883s like a chaos warp and a generous gift to
1885s my boro stack and i added a
1888s um
1889s you know things like that
1894s good good removal spells but not power
1896s nine stuff you know
1919s no lands were not the problem
1922s one of the games was over on turn four
1938s we we play a weird variant called
1940s kingdoms
1942s and um
1946s there's there's
1947s a different victory conditions for each
1950s player so one one person
1952s has like uh like if you kill this one
1954s person you just win the game's just over
1956s immediately so you know this person and
1958s uh so someone had
1961s a sudden substitution and a final
1962s fortune
1963s and so they cast final fortune and use
1966s sudden substitution to give final
1968s fortune to the person they had to kill
1970s and that person got an extra turn but
1972s the final fortune reads at the end of
1975s that extra turn you lose the game so
1976s because they gave them final fortune
1978s at the end of that turn they lost the
1980s game
1981s and it was just over
1988s sweet combo
1998s mike luke dropped sound puck when
2000s loot drop sound pack when my
2004s filters need some spikes yeah that's
2006s something that gets asked about fairly
2007s frequently um it's not actively in
2009s development but um it's something we've
2011s talked about and something we we think
2013s we'd probably like to do
2015s it's really
2016s it's a tricky one to implement and
2018s there's a lot of pitfalls and a lot of
2020s gotchas that are involved with that so
2021s we're
2022s being careful with it

2034s part of the problem with it one of one
2035s of the biggest problems is there's there
2037s needs to be a limit with how frequently
2039s the sounds can play
2041s so whether that is
2043s the rule needs to be restrictive enough
2045s that the rate that that object usually
2047s drops at
2048s is
2050s um
2052s like
2055s low enough such that you don't hear that
2057s drop sound very often if it's some like
2060s item dropped item dropped item dropped
2063s uh sound effect you know
2065s then
2066s it it's got it can't play every every
2069s time gold drops because
2071s that would be unbelievably annoying
2074s so there needs to be some sort of either
2075s restriction on what you can put it on
2077s or just built in way too
2079s um
2080s like the obvious things also suppose on
2082s anything but just only play it every x
2083s second so
2084s just if it's played in the last second
2086s don't play it again yeah that works for
2087s sure but part of the reason why you want
2090s to have
2091s these sound packs the sound effects for
2093s item drops is so that um
2097s when you
2098s when when one of these items drops maybe
2100s it's off screen you don't notice it you
2102s hear it still and then you know to look
2103s around for something
2106s so if two of these items drop
2108s basically back to back the same time
2112s another lightless arbor key that's
2114s awesome
2117s tumen strength
2119s i mean you could chaos that health regen
2121s out of there and
2123s some decent decent jewish gloves anyways
2125s um
2128s i'm trying to say the oh you have two of
2130s them dropping syndrome so say like a
2131s unique item drops at my feet right here
2134s and simultaneously a unique item drops
2136s off screen
2137s um and only one sound plays you pick up
2140s the one at your feet and you don't know
2142s the one off screen played because
2144s it's too far away right so just having a
2146s flat like it can only play so often
2149s there's there's ways it doesn't work and
2151s i know that the it would still be better
2153s than not having it probably but if you
2155s come to rely on on that sound and you
2158s never check for anything otherwise you
2160s just it's it's like i didn't hear the
2162s sound and drop or i heard the sound and
2163s i picked something up therefore there's
2164s nothing else
2166s um
2167s you can actually end up missing more
2169s items than you would without the sounds
2173s so trying to figure out ways to do that
2175s and uh
2180s have that be good
2183s not happening
2188s just got shrines working in multiplayer
2191s that was sweet
2195s it's making it's making getting through
2196s uh
2197s your stuff a lot easier now the shrines
2199s are working again
2209s picking up those shrines just reminding
2210s me of it i'm gonna get like full bonus
2212s for this one i'm killing so many things
2216s just happened incidentally that's great
2219s well i take my time anyways but yeah

2315s uh talking about shrines i seem to
2316s recall they used to give their bonuses
2318s to both player and their minions but the
2321s latter part is no longer mentioned uh
2323s any reason why there was some problems
2325s with the becoming incredibly overpowered
2327s for minion builds
2328s um
2330s so we had to remove it unfortunately
2335s prism wraps are always kind of good just
2337s just just kind of good

2353s thing yeah we're right in the middle
2354s where 65 is kind of low

3660s rework the base functionality of it to

3663s different versions we've talked about um
3665s over the over the years on on how to
3667s change that base functionality what it
3669s would become and we're not really set on
3671s maybe we won't change it at all as well

3674s so so i guess it really depends is the
3676s answer to that

3679s do we decide which skills need to be

3753s because they're all actually pretty good
