[2023] What's a realistic expectation for the West in Worlds this year?

Let's talk about Worlds. It's coming up in not too long.

What should we expect after this last MSI?

The only team that looked somewhat competitive against the East was G2 but even then it was not like they were that close to beating them. MAD obviously got completely f*cked. C9 didn't win a single game against non-NA teams, GG won a single game against BLG but it was in play-ins and it was a huge throw so it's a bit whatever.

In the new Worlds format, I think the West can get lucky with random draws and upsets. It just takes a bo1 upset to get an easy opponent and then you might just be one bo3 from being in the knockout stage.

Similarly, the best western teams (probably c9 and G2) might get f*cked by a bo1 upset and have to play a good team at 0-1 and then you are one bo3 from elimination.

My personal theory is that we will get 7 eastern teams and 1 western team in the knockout stage and the top 4 will be only LPL and LCK again. Similar to last year in that way.
