Listen, I'd like to talk to you about Riot's latest change. You know the one. I've been reading a lot about it, and I think this is the change that will be the final nail in the coffin of League of Legends. Or at least like, a board in the coffin construction.

Now, you might be thinking "This is a totally minor change" or "This literally will have almost no impact on anyone", and I am here to tell you that you are WRONG. This decision has earth shattering proportions. Sure it may only affect a miniscule percentage of the player base, and only under specific uncommon circumstances, but it will be nothing less than life ruining in those instances.

Plus, it's Riot. Remember that one bad decision they made once? Well guess what? There was even more than that one. I have thought of SEVERAL bad decisions they have made over the last decade, so it is clear they cannot be trusted with decisions. Plus, my gut tells me their latest change is going to end up yet another terrible Riot decision.

Let me tell you something. This game has been dying for a long time. It's been dying since the exact moment that my enjoyment of the game peaked. And changes like this? Decisions like this? This is exactly why.

But yet, all is not lost. As we all know, Reddit is full of elite players and also an extremely accurate reflection of the community at large. In addition, our collective decision making is unparalleled, unlike Riot. So please fellow Challenger players, join me in protest of whatever it is Riot has done most recently. If all of us get really mad at them but continue playing as if nothing has happened, they'll have to change their minds. We have the power to change horrible decisions like whatever decision they made.

Hey all, Riot Draggles here from the team 12 hours too late to get any visibility in this thread. I want to just say that we hear you about the change, and we're looking at our data right now to better inform our future decisions.

That said, I want to provide some context on the change as it has many reasons beyond the Reddit audience. We look at surveys and information from A, B, and C when making changes like these. It's important to get a full picture of what the 99% of global players at Challenger are saying before ignoring most of that and just doing what Reddit puts on the front page.

We know four of you have enjoyed the change, though, so thank you for your time and energy as we work to get it right for more players. We're aiming to have more updates on the change rolled out in a mystery number of months.

We want to reiterate that we don't make changes like these lightly. It takes a team of hundreds of Rioters to argue about them all the way up to the release until someone just hits "deploy" and whoever committed the code change last wins.

But overall, thank you so much for the feedback on this change. It's through conversations with you that we can help make League better for the future, and we appreciate your time and effort in helping make League better for millions of players across the world (on Reddit)! See you on the Rift! 👊
