[2020] Recommendations for similar (single player) games like League?

I love League and I love PvP games. The only part I do not enjoy is cooperatively playing a strategy game with random other strangers. I'll admit that I have a tilt problem, but I know the source of my frustration is trying to work together with the four other people on my team, and I know I have no control over other people's actions and behaviors. LoL has been my favorite game for the last 10 years, but I'm genuinely considering quitting because I don't want to play with toxic people or people who are not playing to win. It's maddening to waste 30 minutes of my life each time team doesn't play to our wincons, but refuses to surrender. I wish this game had a proper 1v1 (or even 2v2) mode, so I could play with less of the team interaction elements when they become exhausting.

All that said, what games would you recommend that have similar gameplay to LoL, but aren't 5v5 or team-orientated? PvE or PvP are fine, just not reliant on group play. I enoy all different champs and roles, so any suggestions are welcome.
