Many here look forward to the upcoming patch 12.10, where riot promises to reduce damage across the board. You, like me, probably look back fondly on the days where adc’s could survive a stiff breeze, and tanks up in faraway top lane could enjoy their wet noodle fights in peace.

But the past is gone. And in our search for what is lost, look what is taken!

Our Goredrinkers will become Goresippers. Lord Dominik’s Regard just Lord Dominik’s Suggestion. The Demonic Embrace friendzoned into a Demonic Handshake. The Blade of the Ruined King now the Blade of Some Shirtless Goth Playboy.

Can’t you see where this leads? What more will they take away in the name of durability!?

It’ll be slow—a few AD this patch, a few AP that patch—but when the Infinity Edge is made Finite, when Luden’s loses its Echo, when Liandry’s Anguish finally stops rooting for NA in international events, you’ll stop and see that there’s no damage left in the game at all. Games are made up of emote battles and arguments in chat, and armor is bought primarily for the fashion. A match only ends when there's so many minions on screen that the servers crash. Is that what you want?

For a time, you may enjoy the new, less dangerous rift that patch 12.10 offers, and your life will feel a little less gray. But I see what doors it opens, and I say that the fragile lives a few million adc’s is a small price to pay for my Damage.

Signed,

An unbiased Akali main.

I won't rest until we've turned Summoner's Rift into NURF mode.

Unironically might make for an amusing April Fools mode. Just the reverse of everything that's URF--less damage, longer cooldowns, lower maximum level, with an evil counterpart to Urf the Manitee as mascot.

Probably wouldn't catch on past April Fools, but Urf wasn't supposed to catch on either.

We made the joke some years ago (talked about it, did not ship anything). I promise it's not an amusing mode though - it's funny to read, but the novelty lasts much less than the duration of a single playthrough. It's miserable enough that I'd hate to see it even as an april fool's joke. Or at very least we'd need to allow players to disconnect without penalties or something.
