Is the "lady with the laughing jar" who has "so many hands" a teaser for the multihanded adc? They put a weird amount of emphasis on her.

Hmmm :thinking face:
Holy shit. Riot really said that they're gonna make the dumbest mlm couple imaginable. I knew they were disasters but I'm in love.
I also love our disaster gays <3
REAV3 C'MON I CAN KEEP A SECRET
Well Im sold. I'll DM you the next few Champion releases
“I think we’re sa—” said Goby, exploding
I love this story
F in the chat for Goby
Any hints on if we are ever getting a top lane tank again?
Stay tuned
why does it feel like female champions get so much more love than your male ones? it's a genuine question and I'm not trying to incite anything
I’m not sure I understand the question. Are u asking why we have been making more female champions then male champions recently?
Didn’t ask the question, but I’d love an answer to that 👌🏽
So a couple years ago we looked at the overall diversity of our roster, and one of the things it showed was that we had like 60% male champs and 40% female champs, or something close to that. We feel long-term it's probably better to have something like 50/50 male and female champs, so we have been adding a bit more female champs then male champs on average, for the last few year. This is something we will likely continue until we are closer to 50/50 on the roster.
Is there any chance for a female assassin in the future or in general another ap assassin?
I dont see why not
Is there any chance for a female darkin in the future or atleast A DARKIN?!
Their is always a chance
So you just abandon half of your player base? If you want balance you could release 1 male 1 female. You could also add a female option for previous male champs like a skin or something.
We aren't abandoning half our playerbase by making more female Champions. Our data shows that female players primarily play female champions, in fact its something like 97% of female players only play female champions. Male players are evenly spilt between male and female champions, so Male players play 50/50 between male and female champions, If anything whenever we make a male champion we are abandoning most of our female players, since most of our female players won't play male champions at all.
Would you know who are the most popular male champs for female players, I vaguely recall august saying it was jhin or teemo
Yeah, Teemo/Jhin/Veigar/Rakan are at the top, with Teemo being far ahead of Jhin/Veigar/Rakan

Here is a word cloud from 2017 that illustrates this more. The survey asked players what their favorite champions were. Left is male players and right is female players
Hey Reav3! Is it possible we could get a more feminine male champion in the future? I feel like that’s a part of the gender spectrum that’s lacking representation in LoL (and in a lot of games in general)
yeah its something we really want to do on Champs team as well.
In the past riot said that they want to make more champions that we already knows, like Kai'sa or Yone. Is it still true?
You mean from the lore? Yes we always look out for good opportunities to bring champs from the lore into SR as Champions if it makes sense,
I know this will be lost in a sea of comments, but in the case that any Rioter sees this: thank you. This genuinely made me giddy. It's kind of embarrassing, but I've been playing League since I was about 9 or 10, and Graves was always a little crush young me had, back when I was still afraid and in the closet. Now, as an adult, seeing him be confirmed to be a gay man genuinely made me feel good, seems like it "healed" a little part of me.
We see you and many of us feel the same way. Thank you for sharing <3
Hey Reav, do you think there is a possibility of ever seeing a LoR character getting added to League? I know prior to Renata's release a lot of people thought she would actually be Corina Veraza, and I'm curious if we could see some badass characters like Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin (I mean the champion name and title is right there), or really just any cool characters or champions inspired by LoR designs.
Yeah, we talk about it a lot. It gets complicated because the characters have to be different enough and have unique enough silhouettes that they don't overlap with another character on the roster. For example, we talked about Corina when we were making Renata, but given we were making a support we felt that she had to much overlap with Zyra. Both were dark/evilish supports that use plants, or at least the best version of Corina in LoL probably does something with botany or plants. I think we will probably do that someday, but we haven't found the right opportunity yet
Oh like Seraphine being there right next to Sona.
Serpaphines silhouette is different enough from Sona. She was also originally intended as a mid laner. I wasn't implying we couldn't have 2 champion with plant like powers (Maokai and Ivern also using plant like powers) I was saying we didn't want to make another female support with plant like powers. We certainly can and do have more then one Champion who uses a sword, and we felt we could also have more then one Champion who uses music, and that singing was different enough to playing a stringed instrument. We didn't explicitly plan for her to become a support that's just where players want to play her. Even when her winrate is higher in mid most people play her support.
Have you ever thought about "evolving" a character from let's say Legends of Runeterra (by evolving I mean moving their story forward or changing them) to fit as a champion?
yeah, we would likely have to do that to some extent anyway to make the release exciting. We took a similar approach with Senna/Yone, for example. We evolved their story and visual design with their releases as champions.
She has AOE abilities, healing that gets better the more people she heals, a lot of peel and not a lot of damage.
How didnt you expect they would play her as a support?
We didnt think she wouldn't get played as support at all, we were fine with some support play. Typically though players end up playing a champion in the lane/position they are strongest in. Through internal playtesting we were confident she would be stronger in mid then support so we thought players would still primarily play her as a mid laner. We were right about that and she was stronger in mid lane, but she was very unique in the fact that most players (by a large degree) were playing her in a position that was actually statistically weaker then another position.
And why not some Champs from frejlord or smehing...just shurima every year is getting so boring
When was the last Champions from Shurima we made? I can't even think of it
Akshan?
Oh yeah! I always think of him as aligned to the Sentinels rather then a region
Samira, akshan, belveth, tank...meanwhile when was last champ from frejlord and tagon, damacia etc
Samira is Noxus and BV is void
What about ixtal? I know this is an old thread, but I was so excited for ixtal when Qiyana came out. But it's been the worst possible result, you guys haven't expanded on it at all since her release. It's pretty frustrating. Feels like Latino representation is always the last thing anyone cares about, and it's crazy cus there's a pretty big league audience from Brazil to Mexico, and like a quarter of the city you guys live in is Mexican.
And ixtal is so f**king cool. I want more of it
Same, we are for sure going to do some in that space soon
