Hey Guys,

I got an idea: since you can just spam retire run if you didn't get the power you wanted in a run, wouldn't it be better to just offer all of them when choosing the first power? Sometimes i literally sit there searching for a specific starting power for like 5-10 minutes, spamming the hell out of the retire run button.

First world problems, I know, but still, would be really cool :)

This is a spicy topic! We knew players would want to cheese their initial power choice before the first iteration of Lab of Legends went live (I was definitely doing it), but I think the addition of difficulty tiers has appreciably upped players' desire to min-max. And rightly so! Clearing Legendary is tough— even with a guaranteed Epic power on your first pick.

In this thread alone there are a half dozen potential creative solutions. Revisiting the discussion internally has generated even more ideas and strong opinions on how we should handle the first power choice. So as I said, it's spicy!

We'll continue to explore some ideas, but making any change takes time that could be spent on other exciting Labs-related things. Some of those exciting things may even change initial Champion and Power selection so much that the entire debate becomes moot.

In the meantime, we appreciate the feedback and will watch this space. For those of you hell-bent on retiring 20 runs to get those saplings or a Yipp's Genius, might I recommend you try letting RNG take the wheel a bit and finding other potent combinations? Like this Legendary Taliyah win from one of our engineers, featuring no epic powers!
