I'm just listing things that have happened since that announcement, and Path is getting more updates than anyone expected right after they made it

Heh, yeah. People were shouting Path was a dead mode too last year. Those people have gotten way quieter these days.

It's a bit weird weird you included path updates and rotation as part of the doomposting though. It would have been way easier for us to not do path updates and not build rotation if we just planned to let the game fade away. Rotation, Monthly Challenge, Competitive Revamp, these are things that only make sense to do if you want to support the game over the long term.

After all, rotation is controversial with players and a lot of up-front work to set up - it's worth it only because it's good for the game in the long term as the total cards in game continues to expand, if we just wanted to ride off into the sunset it would have been way easier to... Not do that.

When Path players were doomposting about path, I said at the time "I look forward to proving you wrong", and meant it. Looking forward to proving you wrong too. Your account may only be a few hours old, but I trust you're with us for the long haul. :)

For what its worth despite the grumbling on the sub currently a lot of us are looking forward to rotation and are optimistic for what it can bring to the game. just hard to get a word in edgeways at the moment because... well... Reddit gunna Reddit.

Kinda wish wed had more notice on the official list but i trust you guys had good reasons to pick the cards you did

(However damn you and your team for taking Zilean AND Shelfolk away from me)

I appreciate it, thanks. :)

I wanna respect your energy engaging with me here, so I'll drop the memeing for a bit.

Yeah, I am doomposting. I respect that rotation is necessary for any card game, but I don't like that a lot of the champs I love will be headed to what I believe will be an unbalanced mess as many "Wild" formats become. A lot of what made this game special for me is the connection to the champions. Decks are about them. Entire lore is constructed in this game around them. And now they're going to a place that feels like it just won't matter. It also disincentivizes me from buying cosmetics: I don't want to buy a skin for a champ who I can only play in a format that matters once every few months. And since it's not clear who will be rotating or if they'll ever come back, the only safe move for me is to not buy cosmetics for anyone. Can't get burned like I did buying my Santa Braum skin.

I understand the team isn't letting the game fade away completely, but for me, a player who really cares about getting new cards and getting them often, it sure seems like it's fading to me. I look at the projected 12 new champs this year with a pained grimace. Maybe the other expansions this year will be end up being bigger or there will end up being one-off champ releases again! I wouldn't know, the team hasn't communicated. But going off what I'm seeing and what little has been announced, it seems like a dramatic drop-off in the content I'm looking forward to.

I think it's fair feedback to say, "why would the team say they're refocusing on PVP, incite panic about the future of Path, then continue to regularly update Path?" I'm not upset about Path being updated. But I also don't see the point of that "Refocusing" post at all now, ~six months later.

Looking forward to proving you wrong too.

This is the best digital card game in existence. I hope I am wrong, I'd love to keep playing! But getting three new champs every three months is terribly unexciting.

Thanks for listening, I do appreciate your willingness to engage with folks, even when they're unproductively doommeming.

I'm glad to hear it.

This I gotta disagree with. The vast majority of team resources are focused on PvP. Like 90% or more. It's not our fault that we've done a lot of cool stuff with the last 10%. :)
