Minecraft hotfix is rolling out!

The first thing you’re doing in Minecraft today:

Minecraft is all about intrinsic motivation and creating your own adventure, done in unique creative ways. Dwarf Fortress really is so much of that. They're both so alike.

I've always known that Minecraft in its inception was quite inspired by parts of Dwarf Fortress, but this is the first time it really became shockingly obvious to me. Not just in the context (mining, minecarts, levers, etc), but even that DF is about making your own stories.

I have tried Dwarf Fortress before, but this is the first time I've REALLY gottten into it as just a player myself. Beyond some of the unintuitive UI, the game beneath is an absolute blast. Having it visualized like this made everything click.
