It looks like recent terrain optimizations we’ve done had some additional side effects!

A fix for the “muddy” or “blurry” ground textures that are slow to load should be coming soon. It will be included in the next PTR update for the coming Summer patch, which itself will follow to our Live servers very soon.

Thanks for the reports!

A lot of instances of foliage disappearing is often due to abilities. Many of our AoE abilities in particular temporarily destroy grass (you can see it with the Blunderbuss or Void Gauntlet, for example). This is an intentional design to enhance visibility of the effect, but if there’s enough feedback the Combat team could re-evaluate the implementation.

Otherwise, sometimes when there’s too much rendering happening, I believe some objects get lower priority in favor of keeping characters and spells the most visible.

If you’re seeing something else and it looks obviously wrong, feel free to report it with further details (PC specs, graphics settings, and a video reference really help narrow things like this down!).

Happy to provide insight where I can!

Positive reinforcement to the Dev team on things the community likes helps us continue to do more of it!

No, much sooner. The PTR is currently hosting our Summer patch testing.

Distant objects – like trees or buildings – are replaced with lower resolution objects. This is done in every game to conserve memory (you don’t need a lot of complexity and detail on faraway objects). If you have lower graphical settings (like in Object Detail, Texture Detail, Lighting, and Shadows) these imposters might be more noticeable due to the differences in shading, etc. You will likely need to adjust your Lighting and Shadows to something more appealing for you.
