Did I overlook it or wasn’t there supposed to be something about updating chambers in here? Maybe adding dedicated layouts?

Had somebody ask the same on Twitter, to tldr it: They were initially pencilled in to go with Poll 79 but due to the size of a change like that and wanting more time to flesh out a better design before presenting to the players. I'm certain it will surface in a not-too-distant future poll blog, if that's any consolation.

Effectively it's a large project and would likely have been either CA changes or CoX changes, and even then the CoX changes might still have been too big (coupled with us still wanting to refine design a little more). It's coming at some point, but we didn't want to overpromise as part of Poll 79 and take ages to deliver on it.

Typically with these QoL Poll blogs we'll put out an initial one and then revise slightly if there's any overwhelming feedback. A revised version would likely include the more detailed stats breakdown - especially if it's clearly something people are interested in.

Not sure what you mean? You'd need to have completed every CA to be a Grandmaster still

It's moreso that there are already a huge number of hides in the game, if people started chopping them all up out of nowhere then the price of scales crashes rapidly. Obviously it's to be expected their price will decrease, but hopefully at a healthier rate than a day or two.

Yeah I typoed, I'd mistyped '320' initially and was trying to cut character count down in a rush. Good spot!

I love the "Self-casting Teleport Item", this is the DC protection HCIM has needed from the beginning but better late than never. Thank you so much for adding this!

The proposal sounds great, I'd only be interested in what counts as "interacting with the client". Aka if I afk for 5 seconds would that trigger the teleport or would it detect a DC automatically if my client isnt responding to the server. (Im fine with either)

Also could we customize the safe location to be our poh? It's a niche issue that doesnt affect me but e.g. if you're an earlier game HCIM doing no-diary zulrah, getting venomed and then teleported to a spawn location still has a good chance of killing you, whereas in your poh you'd be fully safe.

Again tyvm, this will make pvm a lot more fun on HCIM

This is the reason we proposed it as letting you set the time. If you're doing something relatively low-risk (but not risk-free) you might want to set it to a higher number. If you're doing something like TOB, you might want to set the threshold to a matter of seconds

Love the 69, nice, reference for the 23 hard CA completed, but the picture shows 25 hards completed, thus it should be 75 points!

Edit: Elite has 42 completions on the picture and 39 in the text.

Need to change the copy, I re-took the screenshot because I had resource packs on initially and forgot to adjust the wording. Good spot!

Edit: Should line up now!

Isn't point system devalue the traditional CA? So some noob can pick the easiest task in GM and do it 1000 times to unlock the rewards?

You can still only complete a given task once. I.e. you complete GM task for 6 points, you can't then repeat the same GM task over and over.

I do have a question though, would this be something you’d enable on the gauntlet crystal? As that piece of content is probably one of the biggest danger zones for any HCIM

Have passed on to the team to bear the in-gauntlet crystal in mind

In honesty I think even mains would be chill with permanent charges on Scythe, though I think of all the things mentioned it's probably the one we're least on board with at this stage.

I hate the Larrans key change.

Why are they being treated differently than brimstone keys? Just make them disappear or drop a higher alch value upon death in the wilderness, similar to ring of wealth (i) or something like that.

The collection log for wildy slayer shouldn't be buyable, just like the collection log for konar isn't buyable. They shouldn't be treated differently.

In this case it's because people already sell Larran's keys by letting people kill them, which leaves them vulnerable to scamming. This isn't the case for Brimstone keys - the reason it's unpolled is to prevent scamming, since players are already engaging in the behaviour

Then state it as such and remove it from the blogpost. By adding this to the post, the overton window has now shifted this direction. What was unthinkable on release of ToB, became a radical proposal with the addition of unlimited Blade/Bowfa charged, and it is now a Jagex acceptable option mentioned in the blogpost. Soon to be popular and policy.

I don't think this is the play, looking around comments it appears to be more popular than we might have given it credit for. If that means it warrants further discussion and it seems popular enough for us to want to experiment with or put forth a proposal then we shouldn't outright cut it.

All I meant to say was that based purely off of internal discussions, we felt it would be one of the least popular approaches - perhaps it's not, that's for players to decide and us to react accordingly!

ty for the kind words!

So am I missing something or would a points based CA system not still require you to eventually hit all the tasks completed? Whether you do some of them earlier/mix over tiers to complete lower tiered stuff or some of the more annoying ones later to finish off elite for example. I haven’t yet ventured into CA’s but I’m eventually hoping to do them so I’m trying to understand.

For GM yeah you'd have to do every task, for tiers below GM you could tick them off using points from higher-tiered tasks

Oh please god no, and oh please god yes. Respectively.

Look, the old school team has tremendously upped their minigame game since Oldschool started, and they've gotten infinitely better in recent years. So giving us an extra reason to do a million hours of something like Giant's Foundry is a great idea. Doing the same thing for Rogue's Den or Mage Training Arena, though? Please no.

Hadn't even considered Mage Training Arena, that's a great suggestion!

This would have a negative effect on pking. Right now if you get a key, you still need to go to the chest later to get a drop, and that's another opportunity to get killed. If you could just sell the keys as simply as going to the GE or W2 or a discord, that key becomes way more valuable. Right now the big chest is around 170k in expected loot. Based on the muddy key and crystal key, we know these keys settle near the expected loot price.

So right now, I need to risk going to the chest with my keys to open it. With this change, my keys can be instantly translated into money, guaranteed. I can just teleport out, bank it, and head back, and I know I'll get 170k for it after the task, safely selling it on the GE.

The only opportunity a pker has to get a key is right when the key drops. Either that, or they have to hope that someone couldn't be inconvenienced to quickly bank. They'll have much fewer opportunities.

I'm not sure that this is the right solution.

Completely get where you're coming from here - but think there's a step missing?

First paragraph states you need to go to the chest later to get a drop, second states you could sell the key, third states the only opportunity to get the key is as it drops from an NPC.

When the key's sold, it's being sold to somebody presumably looking to profit or hit big on their keys (where I imagine price would sit below avg. loot because of the risk associated), meaning the opportunity to kill people for keys when they go to use them is still more or less the same, unless you're presuming that fewer people will be using the keys at Larran's big chest as a result of the change.

Clearly something people have a fair few thoughts on, will share them with the team on Monday (since I'm off tomorrow) and see if they feel any elements are worth adjusting or reconsidering.
