Banned for Botting

I know what you’re thinking, this guy was using a macro. Let me explain, I returned to OSRS after a 5+ year break for that OSRS blast from the past feeling. I grew up on the game and with the community. I certainly don’t have the hours I used to, but I love nothing more than using it as a bit of an escape. When I rejoined the community, I was doing primarily money generating tasks. Picking up arrows and dragon knives from PVP servers, which then turned into finding a less boring and more stable money making strategy. I spent a ton of time grinding thieving. I then decided Vyres was exciting with the small drop %, but high reward with blood shards. I actually made a post in here that it took me over 15,000 Vyres for my first drop lol. Anyways, while I was doing this I was legit vetting players for being bots by taking the Vyre outside the hutt. I was reporting people like crazy lol. It pisses me off that people can blatantly do that at such high combat levels (which I am as well). Anyways, I in no way thought I’d ever be accused of macro’ing because I’d be trying to engage with others while pickpocketing and reporting players along the way. On top of this, I’m playing on a 2012 MacBook Pro which can barely even run the client on its own lol. When I hit 99, I felt the major burnout and decided to give it a break and focus on work. 4-6 months pass and I decided to get back into it and sure enough, I’m perma banned for macro’ing. Sure the hours I put in could get long, but I assumed Jagex is using a bot detection tool that would be next to fool proof. I know if someone were to look into my gameplay, they’d know that I was not botting solely by my interactions with others and generic (probably poor) mouse movement on my old MacBook. I’m not sure what I’m looking for here, but I wanted to open a discussion about Jagex’s bot detection and whether or not this has happened to others. If I get the account back, do I need to stop playing for longer than a few hours at a time? If I lost my account, I certainly couldn’t grind another one back to where I’m at now.
